Report: All Seven Foreign Hostages Killed in Algeria

Algérie1 Info: Special forces stormed the latest terrorist still holed up in the factory. Eleven criminals were killed and seven hostages died certainly executed by their captors. (Algerie 1)

The state news agency reported today that all seven hostages were killed today in a raid on the gas plant. The hostages were reportedly killed in retaliation to the attack. The militants attacked the plant Wednesday morning, creeping across the border from Libya, 60 miles (100 kilometers) from the natural gas plant.

Two Americans were reportedly held by the hostages at the plant.
The AP reported:

Algeria’s special forces stormed a natural gas complex in the middle of the Sahara desert on Saturday in a “final assault” aimed at ending a four-day-old hostage crisis, the state news agency reported. It said 11 militants and seven hostages were killed.

The report, quoting a security source, didn’t say whether any hostages or militants remained alive, and it didn’t give the nationalities of the dead. It said the army was forced to intervene after a fire broke out in the plant.

The siege at the Ain Amenas plant, jointly run by BP, Norway’s Statoil and Algeria’s state-owned oil company, transfixed the world after radical Islamists stormed the complex, which contained hundreds of plant workers from all over the world.

Algeria’s response to the crisis was typical of the country’s history in confronting terrorists – military action over negotiation – and caused an international outcry from countries worried about their citizens.

The latest deaths bring the official Algerian tally of dead to 19 hostages and 29 militants, although reports on the number of dead, injured and freed have been contradictory throughout the crisis.

I guess Obama will say nothing now. Our Navy Seals could have done better. But the main issue is gun control in America and spending money. The king can’t be bothered.

  • MoreLiberty

This is why we have a military with forward projection. Our military shoul be used as national defense and to secure the liberty of our citizens. Our military shouldn’t be used to for nation building, forcing democracy on nations that don’t understand it or for guarding other countries.

  • I was watching FOX news with Brett when in the commentary cycle at the end, the guy sitting next to Krauthammer, I think another Charles something, but a big liberal, makes a statement which exemplifies the difference between them and us.

To paraphrase: “The assault killed a bunch of hostages, which was good, because it prevented this administration from being pulled into a long drawn out hostage situation.”

No kidding. I wondered if he were there, or his wife or his kid, would he react the same way. These people only see stuff through a prism of how it would affect Obama.

Sounds like Obama went in there like a “cowboy” and made another mess. No wonder we haven’t heard a peep from him on this.

  • Unless this news was reported by TMZ Barry knows nothing about it. Besides, it’s PARTY TIME!!!!

@Paul: Exactly right. Obongo is gearing up for a BIG party. Moochelle is sporting her new bangs making her look like Mamie Eisenhower in black face.

Obongo: “Hostages? American hostages? You’re kidding, right? Must be a new YouTube video out there riling my pals up. Hey! Eric! Round up the usual suspects! Hey! Press Corpse! You lazy bunch of stenographers! Tell them I said to cool it until after my coronation. So let it be written, so let it be done.”

OT, except that the Topic is savagery:

“COLORADO – A 17-year-old is being sought in the killing of a Fort Carson soldier and his wife during a burglary, Colorado Springs police said late Wednesday.

Police issued a warrant for the arrest of Macyo Joelle January on suspicion of first-degree murder. Police said January should be considered armed and dangerous.

He is suspected in the deaths of Staff Sgt. David Dunlap and his [pregnant] wife, Whitney Butler, who were gunned down Monday when they returned home and encountered a burglar, police said. “

Can you guess the ethnicity before clicking? I knew you could.

How pathetic and sad is the Obamaite govt. Americans taken hostage by Moslem terrorists and this govt does nothing–no news, no discussion, no rescue effort by our people. Every American overseas needs to understand the Obama govt will do nothing to help them if needed. Heck, took O’Reilly to get our marine back from Mexico.
Well we know the FBI will get to this plant around June to investigate what happened.

When this crisis first went down – the media was saying Obama can launch a team of Seals at anytime. Anytime.

6 hours later I hear the media say – Obama can launch a team of Seals anytime he choose. That’s six hours later.

    12 hours later – crickets.

18 hours later – media blackout.

    Obama, coordinates unknown.

    Total disgrace.

  • And don’t forget this administration is in overdrive trying to teach the HildyBeast all the lies to tell when she gives testimony on Benghazi this week…

Next time, hopefully, any countries involved will turn down any “Help” from those ever so helpful Algerians. They had to kill everybody, in order to save the hostages. . .

(Of course, they may have intended to kill them all along.)

Democrats, you got Obama re-elected! Own this!

God works in mysterious ways. God bless the Americans who were left high and dry dead by a level of incompetence our nation has never seen.

Hillary has got to do something, NOW!!! I suggest she set her hair, put on her black frame glasses and don a spiffy conservative skirt and blouse with a blazer. Dark blue or black would be most appropriate. Hillary, I’m talking to you!!! There is no time like the present to put forth a good image of yourself. Maybe a photo where it appears you’re in deep thought and shocked about the situation.

You are the secretary of state. Please dress and sound like one.

How many more times do we allow this race baiting pos to order our troops, who could affect a rescue, to stand down. Starting with the somali pirate situation to now, nothing but complete disregard. These animals allowed our secret drone to be captured when they could have destroyed it, and then begged it be returned. Oh so many bodies connected to “stand down” needlessly sacrificed to the incompetence of one man.

  • Skandia Recluse

Algeria didn’t care about the hostages. They just wanted their gas plant undamaged and their authority preserved.

  • Multitude

I’m so confused. I thought the guy who was behind the video was back in jail. President Obama said we’d go get whoever was responsible for the death of the ambassador, well before the election. And we did. We got that crummy video maker.

Why doesn’t radical Islam love us?

  • Lightwave

Good thing that Obamee didn’t lift a finger to prevent the death of at least one US hostage. People might have gotten hurt or killed or something.

Is failure to protect a US citizen abroad like this an impeachable offense for the Commander-in-Chief?

  • Uncle Samuel

But Al Queda is dead, right? Obama and Hillary said so.

Once in the while there will be an opportunity. A fire just broke out…great there goes another rescue mission Algerian special forces. Seems Reuters dead Jihad Islamist militants wrong number and Al Jazeera dead hostages wrong number.
The latest deaths bring the official Algerian tally of dead to 19 hostages and 29 militants, although reports on the number of dead, injured and freed have been contradictory throughout the crisis.

President Stand-Down was obviously too busy making sure all the hookers and balloons were ready to bother himself with this little “bump in the road” …. pathetic.

Stockholm syndrome eh? The hostages were reportedly killed in retaliation. Possible the hostages became too sympathetic and started to love Jihad Islamist Militants and hated Algerian Special Forces from rescuing them.

Traitor in Chief and his teams of clowns aren’t paying attention and care about the 7 hostages in Algerian natural gas complex. He was too absorb to prepare for inauguration with his Socialist Democrat Commie Party. You must be kidding.

1st possibility main stream media was playing guessing the number of dead militants and hostage game. If Reuters wants to be correct it should be 18 more Islamist militants dead not 15 more Islamist militants dead.
AP, Al Jazeera and Ahram Online are correct how many Jihad Islamist militants dead.
    Ahram Online:
1 French citizen, 1 Malian, 2 Libyans, 2 Tunisians, 3 Egyptians, 1of the 2 Algerians was group’s leader Tahar Ben Cheneb. It was not clear whether further bodies of militants might be found now the operation is over.

12 hostages killed beforeand 7 hostages killed after for Algerian military 1st rescue mission attempt.
7 of the 19 hostages dead we know their nationalities
ANI 3 Belgians 2 Americans 1 Japanese 1 Briton Ahram Online wrong numbers 2 British 1 French and 2 Japanese

If only Algerian Aid workers did the rescue mission had handguns and rifles to snipe down all the Jihad Islamist militia it would have solved.
Algerian troops have ended a siege at a gas facility in the Sahara desert killing 11 Islamist militants after they killed seven hostages, Algerian state news agency APS has said.

The hostages were summarily killed as the troops tried to free them, it said.

Foreign workers were among the hostages, but the nationalities of the dead are not known.

The militants had been involved in a stand-off since Thursday after trying to occupy the remote site.

APS has previously said 12 Algerian and foreign workers have been killed since rescue efforts began.

On Friday, 573 Algerians and about 100 of 132 foreigners working at the plant were freed, Algerian officials said.

About 30 foreigners remain unaccounted for, including fewer than 10 from the UK.

The militants themselves said before the raid that they had been holding seven hostages.

    Debunk exchange for blind sheik.
According to Mauratania’s ANI news agency, which seems to be in contact with the Battalion of Blood, the terrorist group behind the hostage crisis, Mokhtar Belmokhtar, the group’s leader, is offering to release the American hostages in exchange for the release of Egyptian Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman and Pakistani Aafia Siddiqui, who are in jail in America on terrorism charges.

Belmokhtar has recorded a video message, which he is going to send to the mass media, in which he offers the same swap and calls on the French and Algerians to negotiate an end to the war in northern Mali.

We cannot independently verify this, although ANI has been broadly right in its reports throughout this crisis.

I rather stick to AP, BBC and Guardian since others have a very vague number of dead Jihad Islamist militants and dead hostages

  • Just bumps in the road to Hussein bin Obama, his al Qaeda colleagues will kill many more over the next four years.

  • It is sadly true that the largest part of Algeria’s oil/gas income enriches the elite and foreigners, yet does not get to ordinary citizens. But it will not benefit them to restart the civil war of the 1990s that ended 100,000 lives, or to start off a world war as the hostage-takers want to do. We are going to need a lot of international cooperation–and prayer–to prevent jihad in Algeria from spreading further, with the resolve that taking hostages and innocent lives can not be condoned.
