It’s an Obama world.
An Omaha Wendy’s franchise announced it would cut hours for 100 employees due to the new Democrat Obamacare health plan.

WOWT reported:

A fast-food chain is slashing employee hours so franchise owners don’t have to pay health benefits. Around 100 local Wendy’s workers have learned their hours are being cut. A spokesperson says a new health care law is to blame.

“Thirty-six to 37 hours a week.” That’s how many hours T.J. Growbeck works at the 84th and Giles Wendy’s restaurant. The money he earns helps him pay for the basics, but that’s not the case for all his co-workers. “There are some people doing it trying to get by.”

The company has announced that all non-management positions will have their hours reduced to 28 a week. Gary Burdette, Vice President of Operations for the local franchise, says the cuts are coming because the new Affordable Health Care Act requires employers to offer health insurance to employees working 32-38 hours a week. Under the current law they are not considered full time and that as a small business owner, he can’t afford to stay in operation and pay for everyone’s health insurance.

Of course, the nutjobs on the left blame Wendy’s for this development and not Barack Obama.

  1. I just want to know if this will in any way hamper the order of the 125 triple cheeseburgers, 175 orders of Biggie fries, and the 250 Frosties it takes to put Queen Moochie in a good mood for the week…..

  2. I don’t think the each and every single employee are happy with Obama who took Republican idea Affordable Care Act and turn into their Socialist Democrat Commie version Obamacare where RFID chip is present in the bill.

  3. AND….On top of having hours CUT…Payroll taxes on those reduced hours INCREASE…..All Hail Satan !….( strike gong here ) >

  4. Yes, I do blame Wendy’s. Why do they want to refuse health care for their workers? Do they care so little about the welfare of the people who drive their business? Let’s see just how much of a profit those at the top made last year – I don’t begrudge them their success, but how can they call themselves humans if they refuse to look out not only for their fellow man but those whose work made them that profit. You can say that Hobby Lobby objects to Obamacare because they are Christian, but I can’t think of anything less Christian than denying fellow humans their health.

  5. @Jim Hoft
Socialist Democrat Commie too ignorant and blinded from the effect when Barack Hussein Obama shine a laser beam [acting as taxation and ObamaCare] at them while their pocket have been emptied by him. He had been lying too long while he didn’t care for American citizens but illegal immigrants who took every job available in America. He and his family cared about freebies given to him golf, vacation and more tax money to be spend while usual American citizen suffers further since they doesn’t have source of income [big paycheck] to make ends meet in 2013. Under the line poverty people have to work all day long to keep up with expenditure to fulfill the need to eat, buy needed utensils, buy essential ingredient to cook and pay various kind of bills just like a proverb in Malay says kias pagi makan pagi, kais malam makan malam .

  6. It’s just like those increased minimum wage ballot initiatives. While some aspect can be mandated, the hitch is that worker’s hours can be cut to balance it out, or, in some situations, an employer might just simply do with less employees.

Liberals seem to think that utopia can be legislated into existence but they end up finding out the hard way that the world doesn’t work that way.

  7. #6, Dave, you’re not very bright, are you?

Those Wendy workers did not have health insurance to begin with, now they not only have no health insurance, but they are now going to lose 8-10 hours pay.

And here is a question for you (being the libtard you are): can you call yourself a human when you are willing to rip a child from its mother’s womb simple because it is an “inconvenience?” Frankly, I can’t think of anything less Christian that the willful murder of another human being. Bet you support abortion, though.

  8. There was a website called It named the companies that supported the Democrat Party and encouraged Democrats to buy from those companies. It shut down in 2007 because it was a good resource for conservatives to learn what companies donated to the Democrat [socialist] Party and not buy from them.

So all those OWSers over at ThinkProgs can whine and cry about how they are going to boycott Wendy’s, but it will only come back to bite them in the tail end. Guess they forgot the Tale of The Twinkie.

For me? I intend to eat at Wendy’s tomorrow, Chick-fil-A the next day and support every company that thumbs their nose at Obamacare.

  9. So Dave, I suppose you’d be willing to pay $6 for a Wendy’s cheeseburger so that they could buy health insurance for all their minimum wage employees? Or maybe the owner should just file bankruptcy, close his stores, and put all those people out of work?

Elections have consequences, and people who have no understanding of the realities of life have no business being allowed to cast votes …

  10. retire05 – EXACTLY!

  11. #6, Dave, I agree with you completely. Wendy’s should be forced to commit business suicide. It’s for the good of the state. It’s an honor to go bankrupt for the state.

It’s not so bad, anyway. There are numerous government assistance programs available once they go out of business. Food Stamps, five years of unemployment insurance, free cell phones, assistance for single family parents, free government healthcare for life, immunity from federal income taxes, maybe even low-income housing and free dance lessons.

  12. retire05, not only are they going to have no health insurance, and work fewer hours, but they are going to have more FICA withheld. PLUS, the cost of EVERYTHING they buy is going to go up thanks to the trickle down of taxes from above, and the devaluation of the dollar. It’s incredible how stupid people are nowadays. We spend so much on education, but I guess they just aren’t teaching people what they really need to know are they?

Yeah. And next will be legislation mandating how many full time employees an employer must have. You wait and see.

States of America into the Ummah States of Allah IslaMarxist

  15. @Highlander
Exactly, business minded people are street wise and have a wider sense perspective when reality of life bites back it effects Socialist Democrat Commie Workers Unions who doesn’t see the whole picture with details in it since they seeing only one piece of the puzzle.

  16. My wife works for a very large grocery store chain in the South. As of January 1st all non-managerial workers could not be scheduled for more than 28 hours. We are talking about thousands of people becoming underemployed. This is becoming a common business practice across the country. Businesses have just realized they are better off not announcing it so we are not hearing about it so much. Obama is just to god damn stupid to understand or forsee how destructive his policies are. That’s assuming, of course, that he isn’t purposely trying to destroy the economy.

Obama do something “purposely”, nah..

those who’s strings he’s pulling, i mean, those
pulling his strings however, might make him.. /s/

  18. Dave, the people who “drive” business are the CUSTOMERS, the management, and the investors, not the minimum wage employees. Burger flippers and floor scrubbers are a dime a dozen, and most of them couldn’t care less if they had health insurance or not. They come and go from week to week, and their level of commitment to the business is questionable. If the people of America want to provide health care benefits to every minimum wage employee in America, they’d better be prepared for major increases in THEIR cost of living because the money just isn’t there to pay for everyone’s health care at today’s prices. You would have us believe that the shareholders and owners of businesses like this are getting filthy rich, and could easily afford to absorb those extra costs, and that is simply untrue. We tried to tell that to the architects of this stupid plan when they were cooking it up, but they just wouldn’t listen to us …

Now, if you think you know how to run a Wendy’s franchise, and could find a way to compete in today’s marketplace while paying health care benefits to your minimum wage employees, I suggest you quit whining about how this franchisee does things, open up your own franchise, an show us how it’s done…. otherwise, give us a break and STFU.
