OBAMA LIED: New Obamacare Law Is Already Forcing Premiums to Double in Some States

In 2010 Barack Obama said insurance premiums will decrease by 3,000% so you should get a raise when Obamacare passes.

But that was before the bill was passed.
Now it looks like some customers will see their insurance premiums double.

The New York Times

Health insurance companies across the country are seeking and winning double-digit increases in premiums for some customers, even though one of the biggest objectives of the Obama administration’s health care law was to stem the rapid rise in insurance costs for consumers.

Particularly vulnerable to the high rates are small businesses and people who do not have employer-provided insurance and must buy it on their own.

In California, Aetna is proposing rate increases of as much as 22 percent, Anthem Blue Cross 26 percent and Blue Shield of California 20 percent for some of those policy holders, according to the insurers’ filings with the state for 2013. These rate requests are all the more striking after a 39 percent rise sought by Anthem Blue Cross in 2010 helped give impetus to the law, known as the Affordable Care Act, which was passed the same year and will not be fully in effect until 2014.

In other states, like Florida and Ohio, insurers have been able to raise rates by at least 20 percent for some policy holders. The rate increases can amount to several hundred dollars a month.

    Well, surprise, SURPRISE!!!

Saint Obama lies through is teeth AGAIN, or, in 2010, he was blithering about something he knew NOTHING about – both of these are pretty much the same, and the mark of scumbag politician.

Oh, well – the people always vote for the political scumbags they deserve, and whom they get. And, I am sure Saint Obama will blame these increases on EVIIIL GWB

Just what will the Ministry of Lies plan for programming the public mind into accepting the pain this government creates ?

They have already succeeded at inverting every good into evil and every evil into good …. blaming every innocent for guilt and pardoning every guilt for innocent………

Obamunism is going to have to create an entirely new alphabet language or breed a mutated species of human being to keep up with the rising dependancy on deception and lies for our survival . Look out for a revival in the Nazi use of Druid Runic letters in official government Newspeak . ..> http://viking.no/images/runer.gif

  • Plenty more bad news to come from this repulsive regime, yet the interesting question is HOW LONG it will take 2x Obama voters to come to grips with the fact they ‘made history’ by screwing the pooch, BIG time

Since Obamacarlessness was passed; our Healthnet family HSA (7500 deduct!) has gone up over 100% in 3 huge steps. We now have pay for a bunch of coverage we do not want or need (pregnancy at 59???) States like CA are making it worse with all sorts of first dollar “free” coverage that goes beyond DumBHO’s monstrosity

The whole idea is to make it so the insurance companies are forced out of business and the peasants will become dependent on the socialist health insurance system being run by a bunch of no-account bureaucrats. People complain about private health insurance but when there is a disagreement, the insured at least has the opportunity to take it to the state’s insurance commission for redress. With the feds in charge? You have nowhere to go. All those idiots out there have no clue as to how bad it will get when they find themselves very ill.

Of course we won’t address the consequences of those pesky taxes against medical devices. Don’t forget how this law will affect those evil big pharma’s and any advances in medical treatment for Alzheimer’s, cancers, heart disease and diabetes, to name a few. And let us not forget AIDs. Sorry, you lose too.

After all, it’s most important that we don’t allow any person or company to profit more than we think they should. After all, it really is our money; not theirs. They don’t need to put their profits back into research anymore. god Barry will start healing the sick any day now.

You doctors. Heads up, people. He’s coming for you next. Watch and listen for signs of criticism about you earning more than you should to treat the suffering masses. They’ll start whining about how it’s not right for you to get rich off the poor wretched sick folk. Never mind that it took mega bucks and many years for you to start seeing any kind of decent earnings. You owe it to humanity to put your “skin in the game.”

Oh, it’s going to be fun to watch.

More and more retired people on medicare are paying additional monthly charges for that “benefit”.

These retirees paid the designated medicare fees out of every one of their paychecks during their entire work history.

But if their monthly income is more than the US government deems appropriate, then those retirees are charged additional money for the “benefits” they diligently paid for their entire working lives.

Of course, that money has nothing to do with their benefits, but everything to do with those people who get benefits and never paid or paid minimally into the system.

Let’s remember that our incomes are already taxed yearly by the US government and many State Governments.

Something stinks, and the smell can be directly traced to Washington.

It seems to me this was discussed at length back in 2009 when this went down. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Once marginal employers like Walmart all cancel their employee insurance & dump everyone into exchanges or Medicaid, private insurance rates will go up alot more than 20%. As more people are steered into Medicaid plans with their nominal reimbursement rates, private rates will increase correspondingly to take up the slack.

Of course this was all as intended. Crash the private system & blame the insurers for the rate increases, instead of the hugh influx of Medicaid patients with their below cost reimbursement rates.

This ain’t gonna’ be pretty. But then the crises ensues & in swoops single payer. Bet the house on it.

  • JT

I’m 54 and am seriously considering cashing out & heading to Ecuador. I have private insurance thru my employer but doubt it will be worth anything before much longer, or if it will even continue. Most employer’s will just take the position it’s a government benefit so join the exchange or go on Medicaid.

The most by which anything can decrease is 100%. That promise was mathematically impossible. Apparently some voters didn’t figure that out …

  • Lim Lynn

Barack Hussein Obama says whatever he wanted to in 2008 don’t mean he will implement in 2012.

Yeah, I was wondering if someone was going to notice that. Probably the dumbest thing he has said. Way beyond the 57 states, thing.

When you see Obama on television…..picture him atop a UNICORN….that’s where all of his wild-a$$ ideas come from. It’s his fantasy life.

  • Jeff

AGAIN, JH is comparing apples to oranges.

Obama said “AS MUCH AS 3,000%” for people with insurance THROUGH THEIR EMPLOYERS.

This article is talking specifically about efforts by the insurance companies to raise rates on people that DO NOT get their health insurance from their employers.

NOT LIES, people. Exaggerations, almost certainly but this is plain to see. If you do not understand the difference between these two sets of facts you do not have a good grasp of this issue.

I am in SW Ohio and mine increased over $200. Had to up my deductible by $1k and shaved off $65.00. Hard to do when you are retired on lited income.

Like many people, most Obama supporters do not understand percentages.

    Here’s an example:

Let’s say that you pay $500 dollars a month for your health care insurance coverage.

Now let’s say that you, as per Obama’s propaganda, received a 3,000% decrease in your monthly coverage.

How much would your monthly HC insurance coverage be after this 3,000% decrease?

    1. You believe anything Obama says and, as such, you don’t care.

    2. You don’t have any idea because because you don’t understand percentages.

    3. You don’t have health care insurance coverage and, as such, it doesn’t matter.

    4. You are entirely dependent on public assistance and, as such, you just want to know how much more health care you’ll get for free.

    5. You “calculate” that “500 minus 3,000 = a negative 2500.”

    6. You voted early and often for Obama and, as such, your answer is “all of the above” several times over.

    7. You are unable to select any of the above because none of the answers have “D” to the left of them.

    8. You would have $14,500 credited towards your HC insurance account.

As listed above by dwdude you said this was for all the dead beats well I am not a dead beat have worked all my life and don’t have any health care nor can I afford health care and it is not because I am a dead beat maybe these companies that people work for should pay for some of there employees health care cause when your sick and miss so many days there the first to complain. Sorry for the people that are facing increases but be thankful you have healthcare.

  • CommieJuice

NO it’s not! The media isn’t reporting it, so it’s not happening. Whatever the president says is what is really happening, never mind his actions.
