What lovely people.
Chicago Teachers Union president Karen Lewis recently gave a speech at the Illinois Labor History Society’s “Salute to Labor’s Historic Heroes from the History Makers of Today.” She didn’t disappoint the crowd. At one point Lewis talked about killing the evil rich people.
EAG News has the transcript:

“…Do not think for a minute that the wealthy are ever going to allow you to legislate their riches away from them. Please understand that. However, we are in a moment where the wealth disparity in this country is very reminiscent of the robber baron ages. The labor leaders of that time, though, were ready to kill. They were. They were just – off with their heads. They were seriously talking about that.”

The crowd loved it.

    2) The very fact that this was a statement that was NOT met with ridicule shows that they think that its perfectly ok to steal by legislation.

    Ms. Lewis, let’s get real a minute. First, I have a cousin who retired from his teaching position in your school district. His pay and benefits were obscene. His pension is outrageous. He is the robber baron because I pay for that outrageous pension.
    Second, hundreds of people were murdered in Chicago last year by killers who attended your school district. Who filled those killers’ minds full of despair and hate? Was it the people who told them to study hard and get ahead or the hate mongers like you who told them they had no future.

    First of all she better get on one of Michelle Obama get up and move programs. Next somebody needs to explain that rich people don’t owe any of them anything. They are united in exploiting the poor and as she says she wants “united power”, that’s all that is important, power to steal from others the fruits of their labor…to support those not willing to push the wagon but want the easy ride.
