Outrageous! Joe Biden Says “Consensus Emerging” on Banning Guns (Video)

You just knew this was going to happen…
After holding several meetings with anti-gun activists, gun manufacturers, the NRA, Wal-Mart… Joe Biden declared yesterday that there was a “consensus emerging” on banning guns.

You know whenever Democrats say “consensus” you’re about to get screwed over.

Now that the kabuki theater is over – Joe Biden told reporters there is a consensus to ban guns in America.
The AP reported:

Pledging swift action to curb gun violence, Vice President Joe Biden says he will deliver new proposals to President Barack Obama by next Tuesday.

Biden said Thursday that while he had not finalized his recommendations, a consensus was emerging over banning assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines as well as tightening background checks.

Some of those measures are likely to face opposition from some pro-gun groups, most notably the National Rifle Association. A representative from the NRA met with Biden Thursday afternoon and, in a statement, suggested the group was unlikely to be a willing partner.

“We will not allow law-abiding gun owners to be blamed for the acts of criminals and madmen,” the group said in a statement at the end of a 95-minute meeting.

Obama, after the horrific shooting of school children in Newtown, Conn., appointed Biden to lead a task force on preventing gun violence. He set a late January deadline for recommendations, which he pledged to act on swiftly.

The vice president said Thursday that while no recommendations would eliminate all future mass shootings, “there has got to be some common ground, to not solve every problem but diminish the probability.”

The White House knew they were going to ban guns before they even held their talks.

Reminds me of the tactics used to pass Obamacare. Over 80% of Americans were satisfied with their healthcare when the Progressives declared the consensus was that people wanted Obamacare. I agree with Rush, the Dems have had their proposed bill written for years — they’ve just been waiting for an emergency like this to implement. Their motto is “No crisis can be wasted.”

Barry and the gang could care less about the children of Newtown or anywhere else. They just see this as an opportunity to advance their agenda to enslave We the People and they know they need an unarmed citizenry to carry this out. Well, it’s not going to happen.

Hapless Joe can take his consensus and put it where the sun don’t shine. We are armed and have the means to communicate sans the internet bud, so keep that in mind when you try to come for our guns, especially in the red states.

I see Barry has now armed security for life thanks to our esteemed members of Congress. Way to go guys. You know, there is no reason on this earth why former presidents cannot pay for their own security once they leave office. This is outrageous and just one more needless expense borne by the beleagured taxpayer.

if the shtf, the first targets of the patriot militia should be the people in the urban voting precincts who didn’t cast one vote for reducing the government leviathan. if the marxist head of the teachers union can call for death of the rich, i can call for death of the drones. 100% effectiveness in reducing low information social justice types en masse.

Here in Illinois last week when they tried to ban pump shot guns and 80% of the handguns, the response was so overwhelming that the democrats wouldn’t even vote on it. They were getting calls ever 2 seconds. The majority of the people want guns but that will not stop the radical left from just lying and the press will run with it.

Obama Opposed Gun Ban Exception to Defend One’s Home

by Keith Koffler on January 11, 2013, 9:58 am

As a state senator in Illinois, President Obama opposed legislation providing an exception to handgun restrictions if the weapon was used in the defense of one’s home.

Obama’s vote would have maintained the status quo, which made it a violation of municipal gun ban law to use a firearm to save your own life in your own home. But the bill was passed anyway without his support.

The vote is a sign of how committed Obama may be to strict gun control measures.

The Illinois vote is hardly ancient history, having occurred in 2004 as Obama was running for election to the U.S. Senate. In opposing the measure, Obama lined up well to the left of the mainstream, as the Illinois Senate included 32 Democrats to 26 Republicans but approved the bill by an overwhelming margin and subsequently overrode a veto by then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Obama did not participate in the veto override, which occurred in November 2004, likely after Obama had resigned his state Senate seat in order to prepare for his new role in the U.S. Senate.

The Illinois legislation was passed after a man who shot a burglar in his home was fined $750 by his town for disobeying its handgun ban. The absurdity and injustice of the situation doesn’t seem to have made much of an impression on Obama.

Just eight years earlier, in 1996, Obama answered “Yes” to a survey question asking whether he would support state legislation to “ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns.” The Obama 2008 presidential campaign claimed the form had been filled out by an aide who mischaracterized Obama’s position, even though Obama’s handwriting was found on survey.

Plugs Biden is a barely sentient idiot. He probably thinks a consensus is used to count prison inmates. He should limit himself to one syllable words that he can comprehend, like “er” and “duh.”

The country is in the verge of a civil war and doesn’t want one. However, at some point the people are going to have to fight back before they find themselves in Bill Ayers’ re-education extermination camps.

I could see us arriving here 30 years ago. And here we are.

The Battle of Athens (also called the McMinn County War) was a rebellion led by citizens in Athens and Etowah, Tennessee, U.S., against the local government in August 1946. The citizens, including some World War II veterans, accused the local officials of political corruption and voter intimidation. The event is sometimes cited by firearms ownership advocates as an example of the value of the Second Amendment in combating tyranny.

Notice how they give Congress cover? No bills, no votes,no roll-calls. Taxation with out representation. Exec orders being used to spend money. No votes on money issues. All these plans need enabling legislaton and a vote of funds. Three are new, NEW issues and can’t, imo, be stashed in a presidential stash fund, which if it exists needs to be scotched.Once the congress hasto put their name on some of these issues everything slows down.Notice how fast everything has to be done by the donks, Huge bills are un read. Thanks GOP.
Changes to the B O R should be done thru the amendment process from the congrss as a bill passed and sent to the states for ratification.
The Republicans are derelict in their duties. The GOP is not doing its job…

Is it time to show old Joe a true consensus…when do we march on Washington?

  • babeola

Friend bought a 22 squirrel rifle LAST NOVEMBER and was stunned with the ATF forms asked to check boxes “semi automatic weapon?” and “Detachable clip?” NEVER BEFORE had these questions been asked about gun purchased on ATF forms.

SO THERE IS NO DOUBT WHATSOEVER THAT THIS HAS BEEN PLANNED FOR A LONG TIME. It takes the government a while to change forms. They have been contemplating this for a while now.

Could Obama’s War on Guns Become…WAR?
(I say ummm yeah??! Why else do ya think people seem to be gearing up for… WAR? — And the gov’t has been gearing up for it for some time I might add.)

I thought the people wrote the US Constitution and the main purpose of the powers we delegated to them were to PROTECT the natural rights we all have, not to FIGHT the remove those rights!
