Algerian Terrorists to Hostages: “We’ve Come in the Name of Islam, to Teach Americans What Islam Is”

The Islamic terrorists who stormed the gas plant in Algeria this week, told the hostages, “We’ve come in the name of Islam, to teach Americans what Islam is.” Then they shot five hostages dead.
The New York Times reported, via Jihad Watch:

BAMAKO, Mali — The four-day hostage crisis in the Sahara reached a bloody conclusion on Saturday as the Algerian Army carried out a final assault on the gas field taken over by Islamist militants, killing most of the remaining kidnappers and raising the total of hostages killed to at least 23, Algerian officials said….

One Algerian who managed to escape told France 24 television late Friday night that the kidnappers said, “We’ve come in the name of Islam, to teach the Americans what Islam is.” The haggard-looking man, interviewed at the airport in Algiers, said the kidnappers then immediately executed five hostages

Oh I think we know what Islam is…well some of us anyway and we reject it.

  • Granny

Well, they certainly did prove to the world yet one more time EXACTLY what “islam” is – a gaggle of murderous brigands and rapists.

  • Where’s the MF money Jon?

Geez, these silly misunderstanders of Islam haven’t been listening to our Director of National Security.

  • Where’s the MF money Jon?

The NYT article mentions Algerian officials stating they’d never experienced an attack that complicated or detailed. They acknowledge the attack came from Mali. The writer doesn’t mention what made the attack possible – an influx of weapons from Libya where some goofy guy armed al-Qaeda forces to overthrow a sitting government then failed to secure heavy weapons in the ensuing anarchy. I wonder why the NYT left that part out. Do you think the NYT knows who the goofy guy is?

    Fixed it.

And John Brennan wants to be the CI Director.

Only in the mind of the leftist fantasist.

  • These vermin will teach America what Islam is? We already know, it’s fascism and anyone who sides with Islam is a fascist.

I HAVE learned about Islam and out of that I have resolved to fight against it every step of the way, esp. informing others about this hideous cult.

A few years ago, our Thanksgiving guests included David from Sudan. As a child, he hid in terror while the Muslim killers raided his Christian village and massacred many including his parents. David warned us that Americans had better wake up to the real threat of Islamic Jihad. It is becoming more and more clear that President Obama’s plan of pacifying enemies isn’t working. Our pacifist policies are suicidal.

“We’ve come in the name of Islam, to teach the Americans what Islam is.” … the kidnappers then immediately executed five hostages.

Sounds just like islam to me.

Wonder what reason the UN and international and liberal (but I repeat myself) media will use to excuse them. I’m sure somehow this is Bush’s fault.

We know what Islam is as you just demonstrated. POTUS does too, he’s all in.

They have learned the true lesson of the Bengahzi fiasco- in the Age of Appeasement, you can kill Americans with impunity.

I think they provided a very clear explanation of the Islamist idea of Islam, one that we should take seriously.

There are other voices in Islam.

and some of them are willing to condemn the terrorists as unIslamic.

and change the status of women in hell-holes like Saudi Arabia

  • Lim Lynn

There will be more victims going to be killed by beheaded and being shot at. Don’t you think they promote more violence than usual good old American who loves to protect themselves from Jihad Islamist militants.

    Muslim Brotherhood ‘infiltrated’ U.S. gov’t

[The Muslim Brotherhood is a radical Islamist organization that has
successfully penetrated both political parties and the delicate areas
    of defense and national security.

Retired U.S. Army Lt. Gen. William “Jerry” Boykin, executive vice president of the Family Research Council, told WND’s Greg Corombos that people with connections to the Muslim Brotherhood are in vital positions within every significant area of the U.S. government. He specifically cited high security clearances for such people in the Pentagon and the Department of Homeland Security.

He said neither Republicans nor Democrats want to protest
too loudly over concerns of being branded intolerant.

Boykin said Republicans proved their weakness on the issue by roundly condemning Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., for sounding the alarm on this issue and specifically wondering about the Brotherhood ties of Huma Abedin, a top assistant to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

He also slammed the sequestration plan that has the military on course for an additional $500 billion in cuts over the next decade, saying that will weaken every branch of the service and that a naive rationale is behind it all.]

In all of the festivities leading up to HRH’s second coronation a breathless media has barely mentioned this fiasco. It’s disgusting. I want an investigation. Where’s McCain and Gramnesty now – huh? All huff and puff but NEVER any follow thru. God am I pissed.

Barack Obama is an ignoramus who could have been a world-wide hero if he’d only had enough education, and faith, to distinguish between “jihad” and “hirabah.”

  • Robert

Sorry Valerie. It’s all the same islam. Good islam or bad, people end up dead in the name of it, and on behalf of it, with little or no protest from its adherents.

  • Robert

“We’ve come in the name of Islam, to teach the Americans what Islam is.” The haggard-looking man, interviewed at the airport in Algiers, said the kidnappers then immediately executed five hostages

    Message received and understood clearly.

But not by the government of the United States.

  • Robert

    Anyone who says that moslems protest and fight terrorists as much as we do, such as the military of Algeria, ask them this;

What happens to the clerics of the mosques these killers attend? What happens to the preachers of violence who grant legitimacy to the murders?

Any pretense on the part of moslems of fighting terrorism is just that, a pretense. Until mosques are beginning to be destroyed and religious leaders killed, there is no point in fighting an endless supply of foot soldiers.

Obama was born, groomed, and raised with Dreams of Jihad..

[Boss and Obama, however, had a starkly different view. They believed
that the economic stresses of the Carter years meant revolution was
still imminent. The election of Reagan was simply a minor set-back in
terms of the coming revolution. As I recall, Obama repeatedly used the
phrase “When the revolution comes….” In my mind, I remember thinking
that Obama was blindly sticking to the simple Marxist theory that had
characterized my own views while I was an undergraduate at Occidental
College. “There’s going to be a revolution,” Obama said, “we need to be
organized and grow the movement.” In Obama’s view, our role must be
to educate others so that we might usher in more quickly this inevitable

[Why would the publishers drastically change the title of the book for the
Indonesian translation and make use of such figurative language? Your
guess is as good as mine, but it would seem that Barack Obama is quite
interested with promoting himself in Southeast Asia as a crusader for the
    cause of Indonesia’s Muslims.
