The Christian Post reported:

Adam Lanza’s hard drive, which was found destroyed in his Connecticut home, may be beyond repair police say, leaving them at a loss to explain the shooter’s motive.

When police first discovered the tainted hard drive, they believed that it could serve as a key piece of evidence in discovering why a 20-year-old man would terrorize an elementary school filled with children. It appears, however, that the shooter did not want his motive unveiled.

“The computer’s hard drive appeared to have been badly damaged with a hammer or screw driver,” law enforcement authorities told ABC News on Monday. Two other sources reported to a local Connecticut paper that the hard drive had been in pieces.

Authorities found the drive over the weekend and have “spent days trying to extract data” according to Yahoo, with little luck. Lanza destroyed the hard drive before heading towards the school and now police believe that they may never discover the motive behind the shootings.

“He was eliminating [investigators'] ability to figure out what websites he had gone to or who he might have been communicating with,” one investigator told Yahoo.

  1. “The clash that will define the future of America is this collision between the individual and the state, between disorganized freedom and organized compassion, between a self-directed experiment in self-government and an experiment conducted by trained experts on a lab monkey population. And the defining idea of this conflict is accountability.”

  5. @ Bob – and still no voting / party affiliation for the mother nor Lanza. I suspect this is another Loughner. Another leftwing lunatic.

  6. Two days ago the authorities stated the had good info for the motive – now, no motive.

I suspect they know the motive. And it’s not one they want to disclose.

Right. The world is replete with liberal preppers. Any way, the dad is a Republican.

  8. Don’t believe it. They have the info and we have a right to know just what they found. I am getting more than a little fed up with secrets and lies from those who supposedly work for us.

Focus dummy, I said the mother. Incidentally, there are Democrats that preppers, and GASP, TEA party members.

In fact, the TEA party is a single issue party – fiscal responsibility. And that’s why I’m not in it. I do admire the fiscal aspect, but that’s all they are.

As for prepping, only a dolt would ignore the current state of the country and not prepare for whatever bad circumstances may arise.

  14. There is no “beyond repair” unless he took out the hard drive and burned it to ashes. Which is doubtful. On top of that his ISP will have the records that they keep for two weeks of his access to the various websites. Then there are the cookies attached through Google that stay on their servers for advertising revenue. We track this kind of stuff all the time for certain gov clients for HVT elimination. You can’t destroy the trail. There are archives and breadcrumbs. You just have to have the resources and commitment to trace through the servers and search engines. Google will also have a record of what he was doing. Just takes a search warrant. I think what you are seeing with this Christian Post thing is another speculation that will be tossed in the trash can with all the other speculations that proved wrong over the course of this. Sorry…but the post is just wrong and should be pulled.

I surmise that the father, as VP of Taxation at GE, had some hand in figuring how to pay no taxes on 4 billion in profits.

Personally, I think the LIBOR angle has some legs. What are the chances that two of the fathers of two of the shooting suspects were going to testify in that case?

The nut in the Batman shootings looked just as insane, if not massively drugged.

  16. ” leaving them at a loss to explain the shooter’s motive.”

The ‘motive’ was that he was crazy and evil and should not have been loose.
