Twenty States Now Have Petitions to Peacefully Secede From Union (Video)

Twenty states have now started petitions on the White House website to peacefully secede from the United States. In less than one week Texas and Louisiana are already close to having the 24,000 signatures needed before the Obama Administration will respond to their request.

UPDATE: The Petition for Texas to secede from US reached the threshold for White House response.

Why do I think this is nothing more than tantrums?

I’m hoping our state will follow suit.

Saw this and thought it was precious.

How about if we start a petition to have Obama Secede from the Union. How many signatures do you think that would get?

I think that the sentence “before the Obama Administration will respond to their request” should be altered to read “before the Obama Administration is obliged to respond to their request, but probably won’t going by their past record of ignoring everything they don’t care about, so back to you States, for the next move, which they will also ignore.”

it’s long past time, the Hurricane Warning Flags went up years ago.

Naturally, decent folks want to do everything the legal way, the civilized way, the nice way- but it takes two, and if the other side is ugly then we gotta get ugly back. Bring out the Flamethrowers, dammit.

make no mistake, The Ruling Class fears us, because if we ever get mad and act then we can bring this all to a fitting conclusion.

the words are in the air now: Secession/Divorce and Civil Disobedience.
up until this election, it was in the back of many folks’ minds, and now finally! it’s Out There.

Who says we can’t get fired up! Fire It Up! Let’s Scare THE CRAP out of ’em. The book smart among Them know full well they need us, our productivity, our Strength.

If the Red States seceded Hawaii – and confiscate their DOH records, we could save alot of trouble and save the Republic.

Sometimes the simplest solution is right at your finger tips.

note the signatures of the doubters and debunkers. They are Leftists, scared to death.

I think this is way more that a tantrum, its a real expression of frustration with whats happening to America. But clearly this whole thing has no where to go.

What is interesting though is the vitriol and hatred expressed in some of the comments at NBC —

Reading them I think that America is already done, we can’t even talk to each other any longer. There are two Americas and we do not get along — AT ALL. One loves America and wants the destruction to stop; the other loves Obama and doesn’t care about anything else.

I suspect that should a state seriously wish to secede from the Union that petitioning the White House is not the way to go about it.

That said, Texas and Vermont are unique in that both were independent Republics prior to their entry into the Union. Texas, at least, did reserve to itself the right to leave the Union and resume their independent status.

In the wake of last week’s presidential election, thousands of Americans have signed petitions seeking permission for their states to peacefully secede from the United States. The petitions were filed on We the People, a government website. States with citizens filing include Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Oddly, folks from Georgia have filed twice. Even stranger, several of the petitions come from states that went for President Barack Obama. The petitions are short and to the point. For example,…

Peter Morrison, treasurer of the Hardin County (Texas) Republican Party, wrote a post-election newsletter in which he urges the Lone Star State to leave the Union.

“We must contest every single inch of ground and delay the baby-murdering, tax-raising socialists at every opportunity. But in due time, the maggots will have eaten every morsel of flesh off of the rotting corpse of the Republic, and therein lies our opportunity… Why should Vermont and Texas live under the same government? Let each go her own way in peace, sign a free trade agreement among the states and we can avoid this gut-wrenching spectacle every four years.”

nice, but you overlook a salient fact- They’d still vote for Him.

a commenter days ago made the point about Benghazi: “…there could be video of Obozo Himself joining in the gang-bang of Ambassador stevens and they’d STILL! vote for Him”

Learn This: we will never persuade them, never. No mountain of facts, no bad results of their failed policies, no amount of giving in to their demands will ever satisfy them, NEVER.
It will never matter how superior the Conservative argument is, Their answer is always the same and will always be the same, “it doesn’t natter, it doesn’t matter, it doesn’t matter”.

It literally wouldn’t matter if the Founders came back to life and explained everything to them.
It literally wouldn’t matter if the Finger of God wrote in the sky addressed to Them.

Haven’t you noticed how often you’ve heard that response from Them? “it doesn’t matter”?
This is why I say, this battle is lost, there is nothing else to do but Divorce, otherwise we go down the toilet with them.

This is silly. Besides, Texas is going to prosper and continue to talk trash to California, stealing their best intellects. They won’t give that up.
