Thanks Gay Patriot For Sticking Up For Me

Dan at Gay Patriot informed me last night that my name came up in his comments. He wrote about it yesterday.

Last night before bed, I posted a quick write-up of a meet-up I had had yesterday with Glenn Reynolds, his lovely wife Helen Smith and a gaggle of conservative bloggers and friends. And there I, an openly gay blogger at a blog with “gay” in its very name, found the same (warm) welcome I have found at every gathering of conservative (& libertarian bloggers).

This morning, when I woke up and checked the blog, found this comment in our “pending” (for approval) folder:

How many days have you guys gone without being outright called faggots by the people you suck up to? You should put up a running clock and take bets on who will be the one to break down and share his true feelings with you. It’ll probably be Jim Hoft.

I immediately approved it–wanting to provide evidence of left-wing prejudices against conservatives.

Just like blacks are the only ones using the N word I find only sexuals other than hetero using the F word these days.

I am close to 50, white, middle class and know of no people in my circles that hate sexuals other than hetero in my circles. As in racists I know that there are people that hate based on sexual preference out there, but I personally know no one in my life that are in fact this way.

My wife and I were out last night with our very close, gay friends…we go out with them all the time.

Guess what? They are as conservative as they come (fiscally, of course).

Liberals…it’s OK to be black and/or gay and still be conservative.

the only “faggots” are the self identified ones in San Fransissy that you see in those so-called queer pride parades. They are an embarassment to everyone and certainly make it harder for non-heterosexuals to be just accepted – tarred with the brush of stupidity.

It’s much like the ‘obamaphone lady’ and what she does to the blacks in America. She hands the anti-blacks an icon for disliking all blacks.

HillBuzz and The Gay Patriot blogs were among the first Conservative Gays blogs I ever visited. You want “civility?” These blogs, among others, are fair and even-handed. Even when i don’t agree with them. Now that’s civility.

P.S. I’ll never forget the first time I visited HillBuzz. It was through a link someone posted at TammyBruce.com. The post was a deeply moving account of ex-president GW Bush and his wife Laura, returning soldiers, and the HillBuzz gang’s change of heart toward him. It was box of Kleenex time.

Both F-Words are horrible, they have been my entire life. No place for these words. And I would suspect they DO come out of the mouth of angry people with little respect.

Respect is something that has been lacking in recent years. Why do you think Romney is rolling over Obama.

Despite what the media and race-obsessed Left would have you believe, black conservatives are not evil mythical creatures. They are free thinkers who refuse to view their fellow man through the lens of skin color, opting instead to focus on character. That’s exactly as it should be.

Thanks for the hat tip to the Gay Patriot blog, Jim. Both Dan and Bruce are decent, nice guys and that blog is one of my daily “must reads.” The commentary over there is very good and insightful, and some of the BEST stuff comes from those of us who comment a lot there.
