In a video obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller, then-presidential candidate Barack Obama tells an audience of black ministers, including the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, that the U.S. government shortchanged Hurricane Katrina victims because of racism.
“The people down in New Orleans they don’t care about as much!” Obama shouts in the video, which was shot in June of 2007 at Hampton University in Virginia. By contrast, survivors of Sept. 11 and Hurricane Andrew received generous amounts of aid, Obama explains. The reason? Unlike residents of majority-black New Orleans, the federal government considers those victims “part of the American family.”
The racially charged and at times angry speech undermines Obama’s carefully-crafted image as a leader eager to build bridges between ethnic groups. For nearly 40 minutes, using an accent he almost never adopts in public, Obama describes a racist, zero-sum society, in which the white majority profits by exploiting black America. The mostly black audience shouts in agreement. The effect is closer to an Al Sharpton rally than a conventional campaign event.
The mainstream media covered up this speech back in 2007.

Anyone who thinks this is some kind of (ANY kind of) game changer is sickeningly delustional.
We on the right just don’t get it. And, I don’t think we’ll EVER get it. In this new distracted, self interest era, the 15% who are going to decide the election are not–in a billion, million years–going to stop, listen, and take stock of this speech.
Hell, I hate Barry’s America hating guts, but after listening to this speech, I’m thinking…WTF???? Drudge and the Right think this adds up to jack $**#$%T all???

Should be raising the hackles on everyone? For a “Great uniter” as he proclaimed himself… that sure sounds like “Suburbs” is a Dogwhistle for “Whitey”.

Each time these tapes and screw ups and gaffs of Obama are shown we gain another small percentage. That can be the difference when you are running so close in a race.

Telling blacks they have to acquire skills, show up on time for work, start businesses. If a white had said this it would be called racist, but nevertheless for many,especially in the projects community, this is exactly what they need to hear. Depending on the tone of the speech this might actually find a receptive audience among whites.
