Classified August Cable Signed By Ambassador Stevens Warned Benghazi Consulate Couldn’t Withstand ‘Coordinated Attack’

A classified cable on August 15 warned the Obama Administration that the Benghazi consulate could not withstand a “coordinated attack.”
The cable was signed by Ambassador Chris Stevens who was later murdered on 9-11.

There were four previous Islamist attacks in Benghazi this year before the 9-11 terrorist attack.

One of the attacks was an IED atack at the US Consulate on June 6, 2012.

FOX News reported:

The U.S. Mission in Benghazi convened an “emergency meeting” less than a month before the assault that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans, because Al Qaeda had training camps in Benghazi and the consulate could not defend against a “coordinated attack,” according to a classified cable reviewed by Fox News.

Summarizing an Aug. 15 emergency meeting convened by the U.S. Mission in Benghazi, the Aug. 16 cable marked “SECRET” said that the State Department’s senior security officer, also known as the RSO, did not believe the consulate could be protected.

“RSO (Regional Security Officer) expressed concerns with the ability to defend Post in the event of a coordinated attack due to limited manpower, security measures, weapons capabilities, host nation support, and the overall size of the compound,” the cable said.

According to a review of the cable addressed to the Office of the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the Emergency Action Committee was also briefed “on the location of approximately ten Islamist militias and AQ training camps within Benghazi … these groups ran the spectrum from Islamist militias, such as the QRF Brigade and Ansar al-Sharia, to ‘Takfirist thugs.’” Each U.S. mission has a so-called Emergency Action Committee that is responsible for security measures and emergency planning.

The details in the cable seemed to foreshadow the deadly Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. compound, which was a coordinated, commando-style assault using direct and indirect fire. Al Qaeda in North Africa and Ansar al-Sharia, both mentioned in the cable, have since been implicated in the consulate attack.

And as US heroes cried out for help – Obama did nothing.

Just imagine if those marines had not come to everyone’s aid; there would have been a slaughter. God Bless those marines for answering the calls for help. God Bless them and their families.

If Obama just tanks it now we don’t have to impeach him before jan 1.

Congrats CNN and MSNBC. Your pretend journalists (AKA – incompetent, idiotic, marxist, pretend media lowlifes) have probably secured the position of the first dictator of the USA (BHO). Hope you idiots get what’s coming to you. I pray that your souls end up down where they belong. I know you folks at CNN and MSNBC won’t lose any sleep over this. Sociopaths decimate everyone around them and then sleep like babies. I’m sure CNN and MSNBC people sleep without any problems.

  • Worst. President. Ever.

I believe it would be better for our country to have him tank than for us to impeach him. That said, it is incumbent upon the person elected to the office of President of the United States to, at the very least, do his best to refrain from wasting the lives of the people who serve us.

We can disagree on policy, we can pour out our blood and treasure when need be, but to stand by and ignore a timely and reasonable and doable request for aid against a readily foreseeable attack, followed by an attack, and THEN a denial of available aid — these things bespeak a carelessness about the one thing we value the most: the lives of the people who serve us.

We are Americans, and we don’t leave our people behind, if we can help it. Barack Obama said as much, but he obviously doesn’t understand what that means.

Ok, I had the numbers all lined up nicely in my post. It just didn’t work out. You need to go to the link to see it all clearly, but basically, FOX is trouncing CNN and MSNBC. It probably has something to do with the lying at CNN and MSNBC.

CNN has a nasty habit of saying one thing in the US, and then another overseas. Also, they spiked stories about Saddam Hussein’s murderous ways in order to get him on TV. Further, they lied about being “targeted” by US troops in Iraq for about 2 years until they got called on it. They were being targeted, it turns out, by the bad guys.

    MSNBC is a looney bin.

I’m sure much of this was covered in those ‘daily intel briefings’ that Obungle was skipping. He was too busy playing golf and going to fund raising events.

It appears to me, he enjoys all the trappings of the Presidency ( Air Force One, limousines, White House and staff, Secret Service details ) — yet he shirks away from making the hard calls when a true President earns his cred.

This reminds me of a conversation I had one time regarding commercial airline pilots. The other passenger remarked that those Captains had it pretty easy and were well paid – the GPS and auto-pilot did most of the work. I replied that that is not what you paid them for – they were there for that one time in a career when maybe you lost an engine after taking off or there was a fire when you were on final approach to a crowded airport-
that’s when his skills earned by logging thousands of hours were brought to bear.

Recall that incident last year when Capt. Sullie (?) landed in the East River and passengers were able to escape alive? That’s when he earned his pay.
