A proud and fitting farewell to three of Kiwi warriors. Corporal Luke Tamatea, Lance Corporal Jacinda Baker and Private Richard Harris who were killed in an IED attack in Afghanistan.

I’ve never seen this performed in uniform before, what an exaltation to a warriors honor. This old American Vet still has a tear in the eye and a proud thump in my heart as I salute the Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment. God Bless Corporal Luke Tamatea, Lance Corporal Jacinda Baker and Private Richard Harris for their sacrifice for freedom against tyranny.

The Proud Warriors of New Zealand, that three of their number had to die at the hand of a cowards weapon, a hidden roadside bomb, is a tragedy. Does anyone think that this taliban scum would last a minute on the battlefiled against these men?

As a child, sailing from Australia to San Francisco, we stopped in New Zealand and were entertained by the Maori warriors. To this day I remember the tattoos and facial expressions (meant to frighten opponents) and yes, the fear I felt. I do hope these companions of those brave fallen soldiers have frightened away all bad spirits and that their friends will rest in peace. A moving and fitting farewell.
How I wish this war were over!! Too many good young men and women have died, and for what.

What an expression of love and respect to comrades.

Looks like only the enlisted soldiers led the haka – notice the officer in the beret kneeling at the head of the hearse with his hand on the hood, and the Chaplain on crutches in the back. Both are silent.

A western ally leaving its treasure on foreign soil to liberate others. Thank you New Zealand for standing with us again against our common enemy.
