Obama Can’t Remember the National Debt on Letterman (Video)

In 2008 Barack Obama said President George W. Bush was “unpatriotic” for adding over $4 trillion to the national debt in eight years.

Obama went on to add nearly $6 trillion in less than four years.

Last night Obama told David Letterman he didn’t remember what the national debt was when he came into office.

    “It is true that China is the largest foreign owner of our debt,” said Josh Gordon, policy director of the Concord Coalition, a Virginia-based nonprofit that advocates getting the nation’s debt under control. “But the vast majority of our debt is held by us.”

    Note China’s share is about 8% of our total debt.
