David Foster is a former union organizer and never worked for Bain Capital.
But Democrats gave him a speaking slot last night anyway.
ABC reported:
The Democratic National Convention on Wednesday featured three speakers billed as “former employees of companies controlled by Bain Capital.”
They each told compelling stories about jobs lost, allegedly because of the actions of Bain under Romney’s leadership.
But it turns out one of those employees never actually worked for a company controlled by Bain Capital.
David Foster was supposedly one of those former employees on the convention schedule. He told the story about 750 steelworkers who lost their jobs when the Bain-controlled company GST steel filed for bankruptcy in the early 1990s.“In 2001, with GST bankrupt and Romney still CEO of Bain, I stood in front of hundreds of steelworkers in their 50s and 60s, and retirees in their 70s and 80s, and told them Romney and Bain had broken their promises. Jobs, vacation pay, severance, health insurance and pension benefits that were promised — they were all gone,” he said.
But Foster, according to a former spokesman for GST Steel, never actually worked for the company.
“David Foster was never an employee of GST Steel’s Kansas City plant. He was employed by the United Steelworkers of America as their regional union director to represent GST Steel, but was not employed at our facility,” according to BC Huselton, who was head of HR at GST.
Instead, Foster was a union organizer, who negotiated for workers that did work for the company.

He never was the steelworker they claimed he was either.

The d-cRAT socialists managed to scrounge up just TWO (2) !!!! people who’s jobs were INDIRECTLY affected by Romney.
Perhaps Romney should get all TWENTY-THREE MILLION (23,000,000) people whose jobs were DIRECTLY adversely affected by OBOZO to speak in reply.

Did he mention that it was the USW that killed the American steel industry with their outrageous demands the same way the UAW killed the American car industry? Yeah did’nt think so…….
Unions are a parasite that just suck the blood out of the host until they are bled dry and then move on to a new host.

Of course being a union representative he wouldn’t be predisposed to be profoundly biased against GST Steel, its management or Bain. All his nest feathering at the expense of the workers he represented never happened.
Bridge, sale, you get the rest, yes?
US Navy Corpseman commented:
A UNION ORGANIZER – figures. Unions are to blame for demise of American auto industry with their bloated contracts and overpaid thug-bosses. GM was paying Detroit workers an average of $75/per hour while Toyota employees got $27. AND those UAW wages and benefits continued after retirement. The GM bailout was just a transfer of funds to the UAW – not the workers. GM may soon be bankrupt – already ceased making Volts due to fires and poor sales.

FactCheck to Obama Camp: Your Complaint is All Wet
[The Obama campaign complains that we got a key fact wrong in our
June 29 article, “Obama’s ‘Outsourcer’ Overreach.” We strongly disagree.
We find the Obama campaign’s evidence to be weak or non-existent,
and contrary to statements Romney has made on official disclosure
forms under pain of federal prosecution.
The Obama complaint claims we erred in saying Mitt Romney gave
up active management of Bain Capital in early 1999 to run the 2002
Winter Olympics, insisting we were then wrong in saying Romney
was not responsible for shipping U.S. jobs overseas.
[..]
The Obama campaign’s objections are contained in a six-page letter
sent to us (and — without notice to us — to other news organizations
as well). It cobbles together selective news snippets and irrelevant
securities documents in an attempt to show that Romney was still
running Bain Capital on a part-time basis while he was also running
the Olympics committee.
In a nutshell, the Obama campaign is all wet on this point.]

new regulations drive jobs overseas ….
[Before he died, Apple CEO Steve Jobs reportedly told President
Obama to adopt more business-friendly policies, because "regulations

Obama Took Cash From Bain Outsourcing Execs
[There’s only one problem: many of the very executives who were
running Bain Capital during the 1999-2002 period now under media
scrutiny donated to Obama’s presidential campaign. And Obama
was more than happy to cash the checks.]
not to mention his story has been debunked, and

I wasted life listening to this garbage! The only thing I can take from it is that if you took Romney out, took Bain out, added 0bama and the United States, you would have a more accurate description of what 0bama is currently doing to the country. 0bama entered office with a net worth around 1 million dollars, when he leaves office in 2013, he will be worth over 12 million dollars. That is a 1200% increase in his overall wealth. The country however will have 5 TRILLION more in debt than before we had the unfortunate pleasure to call this loser the POTUS. So when David “more head” Foster gives his story, he sounds like he is talking more about 0bama than Romney, except the debt for 0bama is in the TRILLIONS and Romney was supposedly in the millions.

Does it say anything in the Pledge of Allegiance about investing or hiding your money in the Cayman Islands or in Switzerland? Just wondering. And, during the throes of war does it say anything about hiding out in France to do your church work? When you think of all the things that go into making for good citizenship do you also thing of Romney and his shading of the tax laws to keep from paying his fair share of taxes?
What if everyone followed Romney’s view of citizenship. Would the country be better off? I didn’t think so.
Keith commented:
Weird, looking through the whole speech, not once did he claim to work at that one facility. I would think this sentence here would be clear to any thinking person that he was leading multiple steelworkers groups, that’s usually what “including” would indicate to those not privy to the English language used by our political media. The story goes on to let us know that this story was generated by Huselton’s interview (of course it doesn’t say that, but it’s pretty obvious again to those who can connect the dots), a campaign surrogate to Romney. It was a short speech and article, but it’s very telling how our MSM is playing this election. And somehow this is front page news on Yahoo for hours with the headline it has, leaving the impression that a bunch of falsehoods will be contained. Of course, the author Karl can not point out one falsehood in this private citizens speech, but of course, does that matter when you can leave the impression there was? So we’re not just going to be outspent, we’re also going to have to deal with this type of journalism, where a baldface lie machine like Ryan, who is running for office, is being put on par with a private citizen convention speaker who did not tell one falsehood but they want you to think he misled you. Makes it easier to make all attacks on Bain seem “suspect”.
