Chinese hackers break in to White House military office network!
The network is one of the U.S. government’s most sensitive computer networks.

That White House State Dinner for Chinese President Hu worked wonders for Sino-US relations, huh? (WSJ)
The Washington Free Beacon reported:
Hackers linked to China’s government broke into one of the U.S. government’s most sensitive computer networks, breaching a system used by the White House Military Office for nuclear commands, according to defense and intelligence officials familiar with the incident.
One official said the cyber breach was one of Beijing’s most brazen cyber attacks against the United States and highlights a failure of the Obama administration to press China on its persistent cyber attacks.
Disclosure of the cyber attack also comes amid heightened tensions in Asia, as the Pentagon moved two U.S. aircraft carrier strike groups and Marine amphibious units near waters by Japan’s Senkaku islands.
China and Japan—the United States’ closest ally in Asia and a defense treaty partner—are locked in a heated maritime dispute over the Senkakus, which China claims as its territory.
U.S. officials familiar with reports of the White House hacking incident said it took place earlier this month and involved unidentified hackers, believed to have used computer servers in China, who accessed the computer network used by the White House Military Office (WHMO), the president’s military office in charge of some of the government’s most sensitive communications, including strategic nuclear commands. The office also arranges presidential communications and travel, and inter-government teleconferences involving senior policy and intelligence officials.
So how long before the state-run media blames Romney?
Related… Canada said late on Friday it was aware of an attempt by hackers to target a domestic energy company.
More… At least 19 Japanese websites, including those of a government ministry, courts and a hospital, have come under cyberattack, apparently from China.

Maybe they didn’t “break in”! Maybe the front door was left open for them intentionally!!!

Did the Chinese “break in” or were they invited in? You know, kind of like how one of our super top secret military drones (“crash”) landed in Iran…

Something not right about this report. First as far as I know the WHMO should be a closed network… or at least have a closed and open network. The open network(if it exists) does contain important info but not nuke important. The only way to break into a closed network is to get physical access to it… aka the hacker go into the white house or some other high end location. Sadly it has happened on a number of times that they have done this and many many time these people get no punishment for almost successfully stealing huge sums of info. I know personally of many case where people were caught in the act and the only punishment was to deport them. Some of this is due to trying to keep the breech quiet to cover @sses but much is due to not wanting to make china angry.
Needless to say however if obama changed the WHMO to an open network then it is clearly without a doubt his fault. Anyone who knows anything about network security knows that once you hook something up to the internet or really even give it a modem it is by definition unsecured at that point.

We can be thankful this happened prior to any hot events in the far east. How would it be to have things lit up, for any reason, and then discover they could stroll in so simply.
This is representative of why I don’t trust online stuff for any reason – banking, purchasing, sending information, and especially the idea of the so-called Cloud. Sleep tight folks!

Holy cow & WTF!!! We’ve had 13 years since the Cox Report to stop Chinese espionage. Now they might have our nuclear launch codes, the ability to interrupt a counter value response to a Chinese WMD attack. That would nullify our strategic threat.
Checkmate.
Thanks, you filthy, bottom-dwelling socialist idiots.

Please.
What exactly would happen if Obie “pressed” them on the subject? Would they stop?
