Rush Limbaugh is pretty “jazzed” about Mitt’s VP pick.
Via Greta Van Susteren:
From the Rush Limbaugh website:
You know, let’s face it, folks. One of the reasons that so many conservatives, all during the Republican primary process, were so forlorn, was that there wasn’t anybody that could articulate what we believe. (chuckles) They were all on the radio. Where are they in the Republican Party? Admit it! Well, we now have somebody on the ticket who’s us. Somebody’s on the ticket who can explain all of this, who believes all of this in his heart and in his soul.
His name is Paul Ryan, and he can do it with optimism and a smile on his face and no bitterness and so forth. So I like it because they’re tackling this head on. You know, if he’d chosen, say, Rubio, the accusation would have been that Romney was pandering to a group. If he’d chosen Condi, same accusation: Pandering to a group. This pick told me that Romney is not just serious about winning, but governing. That’s what it told me. I could be proven wrong.
Who knows?
But I like the fact that there’s somebody who’s gonna be on the news every day that can talk like I do. And I don’t mean to make this about me. I don’t mean to make this about me. That’s not the point. We’ve got somebody who can articulate what we believe. It’s in his heart. He doesn’t need crib notes. He doesn’t need briefings. He doesn’t need a consultant to tell him what to think or how to answer a question. He knows it. He’s lived it. It’s his soul.
That’s why I’m jazzed.

Rush – Sometimes I wonder about you….are you really paying attention? Are you kind of slowing down in the “pulse of America” department?
Listened to you today and loved the fact that you are finally jazzed up…..I have been all along.
Romeny and Ryan will rock it out. Landslide election ahead.
Why is this big news to you – Rush? I have known it for months and I am not….you know – you.
Ghost commented:
“Jazzed”?
Daddy-O, the last time I heard that term ‘Kookie’ was really “boss”
yeah, I know… there’s only three of you that will get that,
and #1, that doesn’t include you
Jeannie commented:
kathteach, no you are not Rush and so you don’t get MILLIONS of people giving him behind the scenes inside news on RINOs and programs that should have been successful tanking because there were no conservatives to make them complete.
This is not criticizing you, I am happy too, but take into account that nobody who has ever been president or had access to that much information, has ever come away from it without needing major rest.
(Obama doesn’t count. Nothing is real to him except his belief that his feces alone could save the world and we’d all be lucky to consume it)
Rush has voluntarily taken on the kind of inside info that most of us would fold under if we were as relentlessly exposed to it. As Nicholson’s military character could have easily said to most of us: “You can’t handle the truth!”
Therapy and common sense these days recommends us to go easy on the news as it could absolutely swamp us. People like Drudge and Levin and Reynolds and Rush are remarkable people and in hindsight their optimism, in the face of the relentless obstacles by all forces of the globe, will earn them badges for real courage.
Rush has seen more failed maneuvers than we have so having a RINO surprise him and uncover the spine of a patriot and real public servant delighted and shocked him.
I personally forgot how Romney had taken a mess of an Olympics era and had pulled together a fabulous team, turned it in under budget and reaped praise upon praise.
I have very real confidence that Romney is going to bring in all of his opponents and put together his own dream team.
HOWEVER, these debates, with the same old people…unless Romney and company plan to turn the tables on these quacks and expose their bias on national television, to the delight of a jaded audience, I’m concerned that they’ll just politely endure the double standard leading questions, the interruptions and the obfuscation. Which will make the debates about absolutely nothing.
Newt had better be on hand coaching them is all I have to say.

#2…the ghosts of sunset strip and route 66 are not quite faded yet.
Your Inner Voice commented:
Too bad for Ryan. Maybe he’ll end up with Palin’s kind of usefulness, though…
Chris commented:
Paul Ryan also doesn’t need a teleprompter or be a gaffe machine. Like those two yahoos in the WH.

Romney and Ryan may win….but The Republican problem of selling counterfit conservatism remains. Its not about winning elections Rush. Its about getting Republicans to deliver on policy, honor their promises, and protect our freedoms . Its about requiring the Republicans to use the power they get or lose it. The more Rush hypes it up , the more he looks like a political veresion of Billy Mays,,,the Oxyclean Oxycotton man selling you to buy the new and improved line of Republican manilla folders. I honestly don’t know how the man sleeps at night believing he can sell fake goods because other guy’s merch is even faker. I believe it does wear on him deep down because he honestly does love America and opportunity for all. The post Reagan breed of Republican pushed him to drug use they way they make him sell his soul day in and day out. I admire his strength he hasn’t killed himself.

We ALL are, Rush!
Except a few residual PaulBots, anyway

Hey Ghost – I am the bomb. I totally get it. Although – maybe sadly or happily – I can’t figure out how to feel about this getting old thing….I remember Kookie and 77 Sunset Strip ,,,,my big sister had an Ed Burns poster in her room that I admired……
The past is actually kool – and Rush reminds me of just that – the PAST.
I hate to see him go but he just seems to be ……surprised whenever he learns stuff we all know like weeks ahead.
Maybe we have to face the fact that this guy is singing a swan song and ready to leave us all……who will replace him?
Good grief. That’s like asking the dumb question “Who will ever be Michael Jordan again”……
No one. A once in a lifetime treasure but ….we have to just realize he needs to go away quietly into the night.
Why the heck was he not championing Paul Ryan and Romney months ago?
He is not paying attention. That’s why.
Edward Treadway commented:
Maybe the fact that Ryan spent over 1/3 of his life in Congress and yet passed only two inconsequential bills has something to do with Rush’s less than enthusiastic response. He’ll come around eventually.
crackermike commented:
Re#2. Kookie was about 1958. Boss was about 1972. Obamafail circa 2008-2012. I lived ‘em all Daddy-o. Seriously though, Obama is scared to death of Paul Ryan. Obama knows the networks need to get his lies accepted, or it’s all over. Obama can’t compete on merit.
crackermike commented:
kathteach; Limbaugh has seen rino’s come and go. He has a rep to protect. I happen to think Ryan is excellent too;
but Rush’s instincts are the best out there. Did you see the hand gestures as he was talking on the Radio? He wasn’t putting on an act, he feels it and can articulate it better than anyone. Limbaugh has a long way to go before he looses it.
Sasja commented:
kathteach. With such great insights and intellect you think you have, why don’t you get your own radio gig? Obviously your talents are being wasted on these blogs.
Bruce commented:
I’m jazzed by Ryan too.
But ….
What the hell is Romney and his team doing distancing Romney from Ryan right after picking him? Ryan is the best thing that happened to Romney:
