To be fair, though. A Muslim scientist, Dr. Farouk “The King” El-baz, was part of the team of scientists who worked on the Apollo Program. Dr. El-Baz was nicknamed, The King, by the astronauts.

BTW, there was Holy Communion taken on that first flight to the moon. Although this wasn’t kown until years after. When the crew touched down on the surface of the moon, Buzz Aldrin asked that they all take time to give thanks in their own way. Aldrin then read from the Gospel, John 15:5, and he took the wine and Communion wafer his pastor had blessed.

Aldrin had wanted NASA to have the event transmitted back to earth. However, NASA decided not to broadcast the ceremony because they were in the middle of a suit filed by Madelyn Murray O’Hair. She claimed that the crew of Apollo 8 reading verses one through eight from the book of Genesis [Christmas Eve, 1968] as they orbited the moon was a violation of parts of the First Amendment.

Ex-astronaut Eugene Cernan steps on Obama

Eugene Cernan, the last man to walk on the moon, said Tuesday he doesn’t think President Barack Obama “fully understands what traditional America is all about, because he didn’t literally grow up here,” and that he’s not sure Obama “wants America to be first.”

“I don’t think he fully understands what traditional America is all about, because he didn’t literally grow up here,” the Apollo 17 commander told Fox News’s Neil Cavuto. “I don’t think that I could convince him why this is important. I don’t know that he wants America to be first. I don’t know that he doesn’t want us to play on a more level playing field. I don’t know that he doesn’t care if Russia or China gets to the Moon and we’re dragging tailbone.”

Asked if he thinks Obama is listening to criticism of declining funding for space exploration, Cernan replied, “No, I don’t. I don’t think he understands what America and what the traditions have been, and what being the leader of the free world has meant to the people of this country. It goes downhill. We are what we are today and we have unique and special things that other countries don’t have because of what we have been for the last 230-some odd years.”

He added: “We could give billions of dollars away to rescue a car company and we never get half of it back, but we can’t find a little money here and there to recreate the technology that [is needed] to challenge the future.”

Cernan also said he has “been offered an opportunity to be part of” the GOP convention in Tampa.

“I may yet be,” he said, adding that “if I’ve got any credibility, I’m willing to lay it on the line.”

“I’m not running for anything,” he said. “If I can have some influence on the future of this country and where we’re headed and how we’re going to get there, notwithstanding our financial problems today, then I’m going to speak my case.”

Rush Limbaugh: America ‘Could Survive Four More Years Of Obama’

On his syndicated radio show Thursday afternoon, conservative host Rush Limbaugh made the case that America would withstand another four years of President Obama, but should be more worried about the majority of “morons” who would vote to re-elect him.

Limbaugh lamented a recent Pew study that found 52-percent of middle class adults said a second Obama term would help the middle class, saying that it is “demoralizing” and shows that “what a good job the news media and the education system have done in dumbing down the country.”

Despite his lamentations, however, Limbaugh took an optimistic outlook, saying that he refuses to “fall prey to attempts to demoralize and dispirit everybody.”

“I think that the country could survive four more years of Obama,” he said. “But I don’t believe the country can survive in a country full of people who would re-elect him.”

“We can handle Obama, but I don’t know what we can do about a majority of people who would re-elect the guy,” the host clarified. Limbaugh made the case that Obama is “going for the moron vote,” and he believes that the Democrats have “calculated that there a majority of morons that are going to vote, and they’re going to win them.”

Obama’s voters, Limbaugh contends, only care whether a candidate’s policies will cause an “interruption with what [government handouts] they’re getting.”

“Biden is the poster boy for the moron vote,” the host continued. “We’ve got a guy here just as moronic as you are, just as stupid as you are, and look at him, he’s the vice president.”
