MSNBC Refuses to Cover Minority Speeches

There were some outstanding and energetic speakers at the RNC Convention on Tuesday.  But, if you were watching them on MSNBC you would have missed half the line-up.  The impressive speeches given by Mia Love, Ted Cruz, and Artur Davis were conveniently removed from MSNBC’s televised coverage.  Why?  They’re minorities.

So, Chris Matthews is not alone in his inability to see the world though anything other than a black and white prism, claiming basic subjects like food stamps is somehow akin to a dog whistle designed to get white people into a racist tizzy.  His employer, MSNBC, is also apparently hyper-focused on the color of people’s skin.

The Daily Caller noticed MSNBC’s blatantly spotty coverage,

One of the left’s favorite attacks on the Republican Party is that it is the party of old white people, devoid of diversity and probably racist.

If you were watching MSNBC’s coverage of the Republican National Convention in Tampa on Tuesday night, you might believe those assertions, since missing from the coverage was nearly every ethnic minority that spoke during Tuesday’s festivities.

In lieu of airing speeches from former Democratic Rep. Artur Davis, a black American; Mia Love, a black candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from Utah; and Texas senatorial hopeful Ted Cruz, a Latino American, MSNBC opted to show commentary anchored by Rachel Maddow from Rev. Al Sharpton, Ed Schultz, Chris Matthews, Chris Hayes and Steve Schmidt.

Throughout this convention, Matthews has accused the Republicans of playing dog-whistle racist politics while on scene in Tampa. It isn’t clear, however, if Matthews will hurl accusations of racism at Davis, Love or Cruz for speeches his network failed to broadcast.

The seeming contradiction between Chris Matthews’ outrage against perceived racism and the network’s actual racism makes perfect sense if you understand Statists. They care only about winning elections and they use minorities in whatever capacity they deem necessary to achieve that goal. It’s a form of racism much more deviant than the type they accuse the right of harboring.

Here’s the interview the Daily Caller cited.  Watch Chris Matthews’ deranged mind at work.

MSNBC? So, that really means that only about 10,000 brain-dead democrats, who would never vote for a Republican, didn’t see the minority speakers. Still, it is a really pathetic display of water carrying for the DNC.

that’s Horrible, shame on them- and a good reason to tune them out

I’ve noticed for years how networks exclude the National Anthem at sporting events except when it suits their promotional purposes, as at Super Bowls and World Series. Disgusting.

when anyone learns the full story of that epic poem’s origin, it’s very difficult to endure apathy. Since we’re coming up on the 200th Anniversary, I hope there is a renewal of interest in the Star Spangled Banner.

I know I’m expecting too much, but I wish it was like this every time,
and remember, Francis Scott Key knew what he was doing, his composition BEGINS with a question and it ENDS with a question. Coincidence?

Similar to the networks demeaning live coverage of the major political conventions- since airwaves are finite (as opposed to print) they respectfully do belong to the public, and the networks do have an obligation to serve the public interest in this highly significant matter.
Shame on them and those in public office who should hold them to account.

what did people do in the 19th-Century? Lincoln and Garfield (to name two) grew up literally dirt poor and went on to become among the world’s most educated men

even today, most major market AM radio news/talk stations broadcast speeches uninterrupted because they take their public interest responsibilities seriously. really, dial ’em up!
or else, public radio stations which can be picked up anywhere (you’re paying for them!)

or, how ’bout friends and family? or, how ’bout a library?
c’mon, I’m TIRED! of excuses. This is still the USA, not Guines, not Zambia, not Burkina Faso

Certainly puts a lie to the GOP statement that the American people would get a “full look” at what the Republican Party stands for during the convention.

Media Chief Fired – Romney “Happy to Throw a Party With Black People Dying”

When is it ever hilarious that the thought of dozens if not hundreds of black people desperately clinging for life as torrential waters batter their children, mothers or neighbors ever funny? David Chalian, a former political director with ABC News thought it was fair game to use a hate-mongering attack against Mitt Romney and Republicans gathered at the RNC Convention in Tampa, Florida on Wednesday. In his vicious racist attack he said, Romney is, “Happy to throw a party with black people dying.”

Chalian, who was recently the Washington Bureau Chief for Yahoo News was fired for his online remarks, which brought no sense of alarm or even admonition from any of his on air colleagues. This has become frighteningly familiar and comfortably abusive behavior by many liberal media persons who repeatedly target Republicans leaders and Tea Party members.

Only last night after Utah mayor and congressional candidate Mia Love gave a stunning speech at the Republican National Convention, her Wikipedia page was hacked. So in an atmosphere of glowing GOP support for a rising star of the GOP who happens to be an African American woman, liberal attackers practiced their deceitful craft. They used morally offensive language on her page and called her a “dirty, worthless wh*re who sold her soul in the name of big business, “and a house ni**er.”
Mia Love – Speech At Republican National Convention
Video: Mia Love – Speech At Republican National Convention

This is the repugnant culture that mainstream media reporters and anchors have permitted to fester and grow, that seeds this type of morally bankrupt conduct. This is not new.

Luckily, I was able to watch the convention in its entirety from her DVR this afternoon. After returning home, I reviewed my recording again and was able to see that a lot of the speeches were going on in the background while the commentators were interviewing other speakers or discussing what would be included in upcoming speeches. The exclusion of certain speakers gave the convention an entirely different feel. I was so disappointed in FOX for letting its viewers down.
