Miley Rae Cyrus is latest target of “swatting” attack.
Police rushed to the star’s home and surrounded her mansion, weapons drawn, waiting for alleged kidnapper to emerge.
It was all a prank – A very dangerous prank.

The LA Times reported:

The scene could open a teen action movie: Police surround Miley Cyrus’ mansion, weapons drawn, watching for an armed kidnapper to slip out the back door.

Any second now.

Shocking twist! The house is empty (and the unsuspecting singer is probably at some swanky West Hollywood restaurant, feeding sushi to fiance Liam Hemsworth in a corner booth.)

On Wednesday night, Cyrus was the target of “swatting” — a prank in which an anonymous caller reports a heinous crime to authorities so a SWAT team will swarm an innocent person’s home — TMZ reported.

The caller, whom Los Angeles police are said to be tracking, told a 911 operator that Cyrus’ property had been invaded by a kidnapper and there had been a shooting.

At least a dozen officers and firefighters responded to the scene, according to L.A. Now. Luckily for all involved, it turned out to be a hoax.

“A home invasion is one of the most intense crimes you can respond to,” LAPD Cmdr. Andrew Smith told L.A. Now. “The possibility of armed suspects puts our officers in a high-risk situation, which could have disastrous results.”

   This is another example of some idiot simply doing what he sees on TV. He has learned from watching TV that any attack against right wingers/Christians is justified. If they die – oh well, those darn right wingers are just crazy in-humans so who cares right?

   I would like to see Gateway Pundit pick up this angle. What else do you attribute all this deranged left wing behavior to? They watch MSNBC or CNN and they see crazy lefties like Chris Matthews wishing death on right wingers and calling them bottom feeders. They turn on HBO or the Comedy Channel and they see Bill Maher and Jon Stewart tell them what hateful disgusting people Christians and right wingers are. It’s OK to wish death upon them. It’s teh funny!

   People like this ‘SWATer’ feel like they are doing a socially acceptable thing. They see it all the time on TV so why shouldn’t they act the same?

   This is why we see people like Adam Smith and others feel compelled to lash out. They are imitating what they see everyday on TV.

   The possibility of armed suspects puts the victim in a high-risk situation. You are being paid to do a job which may put you in a high-risk situation. A job you chose.

   This is partly the reason why the Gov’t banned “throw away” phones. Today, every cellphone can be tracked to a particular individual unless the phone was stolen and not reported, in which case, the phone’s owner is held responsible for any illegal activity done using that phone.

   In this instance, the police are really upset and you can take it to the bank that somebody will be going to jail whether they actually made that prank call or not.

   Prank calls happen all the time. Teenagers at night playing silly games. “is your refrigerator running? It is, “well, you better go catch it.” Stuff like this, silly stuff.

   But this call and the growing numbers like it, should be a Federal offense, cost tax payers and the police and even FBI time away from other serious crimes.

   #12 Mahdi Al-Dajjal, with VOIP available both at home and via service suppliers, one can spoof their phone number. So, the cops can’t get the right person after all. As a matter of fact some innocent folks have been nearly shot by overheated cops thinking the innocent was the perpetrator.

   This can all be stopped if the Feds require a validated IP for all phone calls at the instrument level that can then be tracked to ACTUAL locations/owners.

   Many of us get these damn robo calls from the Credit Bureau and the home alarm company offers. If you check the caller ID it leads to a spoofed number. Yet, the feds refuse to shut these folks down even though they are breaking several federal laws.

   So much for the federal govenment protecting the citizens.

    Where do we get these eager SWAT teams? We’ve told the cops over and over about the neighbor dealing drugs next door and the non-stop traffic and noise and we’re told they’d sent a patrol around once a day – which we’ve only seen twice.
