If Election Was Held Today Romney-Ryan Would Win By 26 Electoral Votes …Update: Team O’s Forlorn Hope – Just Get Unlikely Voters to Turn Out

If the election were held today Mitt Romney would win 282 electoral votes to Barack Obama’s 256 electoral votes.

Romney/Ryan… leads President Obama/Bumbler Biden 282-256.

It’s been a good week for the Romney-Ryan campaign.

Tomorrow marks a week since Mitt Romney announced his choice of Congressman Paul Ryan to join him on America’s Comeback Team, and it’s clear that his choice has reshaped the race in a positive way. The Obama team’s increasing vitriol is a sure sign that they’re rattled by the pick. Unable to engage in an elevated policy debate, they’ve spent the past few days drowning in their own venom.

President Obama is on defense over his $716 billion raid of current Medicare beneficiaries to pay for Obamacare, and allowing the hospital trust fund to go broke by the time those aged 50 or below are Medicare eligible. The political director of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee warned this week that the issue could cost Democrats the election.

At the same, time, the Romney Plan for a Stronger Middle Class is gaining traction. Voters in the swing states believe that Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan have a better plan than Barack Obama and Joe Biden “to reduce the deficit, create jobs and get the economy moving.”

And the Biden slavery comments didn’t help Obama either.

UPDATE: The latest forlorn plan by Team Obama – Just get unlikely voters to turn out.
Yes, it’s that bad already.

I sure hope that spread increases. We need a landslide victory not only for the Presidency, but also the House and Senate. Not only do we need a great big repudiation of the left’s idealogy, but a strong message to the lying, liberal MSM that we’re sick of them too.

Senator Brady came very close to winning the Governorship in in Illinois in 2010. From Wiki:

“Governor Quinn won election to a full term in a very close race, beating Senator Brady by only about 32,000 votes, despite Brady winning in 98 of 102 Illinois counties.”

Illinois hasn’t been polled, and I gotta believe it is in play. Obama could lose Illinois.

I’m not buying any of these polls. There have been a lot of rumblings lately–a sure sign of the upcoming landslide!

Let’s not get all Hopey about all this. Real Clear Politics still has Obama ahead 237/181 in electoral college votes, Intrade still has Obama ahead 57/42, and average national polling still has Obama 48/44.

If you think it’s over, you’re fooling yourself. When in doubt, the incumbent wins.

All it takes is a war in the middle east, a market crash, or some stupid terrorist attack to make Obama “appear presidential”, and it’s all over. 4 more years.

And don’t forget how Obama won his 2004 campaign for the US Senate against Jack Ryan. One sleazy story picked up by the Chicago papers and talk shows, repeated endlessly on on the local news, and Ryan bailed out and disappeared. Don’t think for one minute every liberal hack in the media isn’t trying to repeat the process with Romney and Ryan. The October Surprise is a staple of Democrat electioneering.

It ain’t over till it’s over, folks. We just might have to put up with this idiot for another four more years. Call me a cynic.

It looks like to me, the larger the area the safer we are. Secure Florida so we have safe access to the Atlantic from gulf states as we cordon off Colorado and NM from liberal resupply and round up all the communists. I think most of NV is doable in short order. It’s only the southern Las Vegas pervs that ally with the commies. Use southern Alaska to disrupt shipping along west coast as we work to gain access to Pacific through Oregon….

If Biden musters the courage to swallow the red pill and drop dead from a heart attack , he will set the tone of an all out grudge fest..That will rally the dems, and give the death cult the opening they need to replace Biden with someone like Howard Dean or Alan Grayson ….. • Sarah

What is this polling org that produced this map? We can’t cherry pick. Either we think polls are valid, or they’re not. They can’t just be valid when we’re up. And if the impact of this kind of news (for anyone who’s taking this poll to heart) is one that encouragess a sense of confidence and lack of political action, then it is certainly not helpful.

I happen to think Rasmussen and Gallup and the most reliable polls. And if you follow them, the race is neck and neck. But of course, as well all know, the outcome is not as simple as the percentage of folks who favor one candidate over the other. It will come down to the battleground states. And Obama not only maintains a lead, in general, but in those states as well.

BOTTOM LINE: Ask yourself every day what you’re doing to help us win. And if the answer is nothing, then get to work!

  • Chicago Colleen

I believe the American people will stand in lines for hours all over the flyover country of our nation and overwhelmingly “pull the lever” or vote for Restore and Reform – Romney and Ryan.

One of the most unpredicted landslides we have ever seen – despite all the voter fraud malarkey the looney left cooks up.

This election is the most important one of probably all our adult lives…..and so many folks know this in their hearts and minds. They are just waiting to do their good citizen thing in November.

Behind every blade of grass in America – is a voter who wants to fire Obama and get our country back on the right track where our kids have a chance at a decent future.

  • sandy

Sarah — I believe this poll is real because I see the depression in people’s eyes. We are a very different country than we were 4 years ago. Therefore, why is it hard to believe that voters would want a change? Hope and Change has become Hopeless with Chains and the man who most white people voted for to bring the races together has only divided us further — while appearing to blame white people for all racial issues.

So any poll which shows Obama winning is the lie — ordinary Americans would have to be demented to want 4 more years of this.

Political Banner o’ the Day http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-B-dSv8rHg3g/UC7RLuHTXfI/AAAAAAAA3Ag/OdQtC02AWt0/s1600/120817-chains-we-can-believe-in.jpg

This sign is a two-fer. Not only does this sign pertain to one of Joe Biden’s predictably idiotic statements, but it also alludes to an op-ed in yesterday’s Wall Street Journal by Senator Rob Portman (R-OH):

The Regulatory Cliff Is Nearly as Steep as the Fiscal One
The president has postponed damaging rules until after the November election.

After three years of bureaucratic excess, the Obama administration has been quietly postponing several multibillion-dollar regulations until after the November election. Those delayed rules, together with more than 130 unfinished mandates under the 2010 Dodd-Frank financial law, could significantly increase the regulatory drag on our economy in 2013.

The Labor Department, for example, is working on a regulation that would increase the cost of retirement planning for middle-class workers, to “protect” them from investment help… A study last year by the Oliver Wyman Group found that the Fiduciary Rule could result in higher retirement account minimums and cause 7.2 million individual retirement account (IRA) holders to lose access to investment advice…

…Then there is the mega-rule on the shelf at the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) that could block business expansion in many areas of the country. Proposed in 2010, the Ozone Rule would impose a limit on ozone (which creates haze from emissions from cars, power plants and factories) so strict that up to 85% of U.S. counties monitored by the EPA would be in violation.

Portman notes a 2011 Gallup survey in which small business owners listed overregulation as the “most important problem” facing them.

There’s only one way to flush the left-wing regulatory state out of the cesspool that is Washington. Vote the straight Republican ticket. It’s the only way to be sure.

The Most Divisive Campaign in American History

    [………..]

Obama can’t win on the economy. He can’t win on foreign policy. He can’t win on any aspect of his administration

Obama can’t win on the economy. He can’t win on foreign policy. He can’t win on any aspect of his administration. All he can do is stir up violence and then promise to heal the country in his second term while winking to all the representatives of the grievance groups. It’s not a new game, but the Democratic Party has never played it quite this baldly in a national election. And if it succeeds, then national politics will have finally been reduced to the level of a Chicago election.

We were expected to believe that the typical Obama voter in 2008 was hoping for a better country, but in 2012 there is no more hope, only hate and fear. The typical Obama voter is not acting as an American, but as a representative of an entitled group looking to secure and expand those entitlements at the expense and the detriment of the country at large.

To vote for Obama after years of grotesque economic mismanagement that has no precedent in history, that exceeds the worst actions of Andrew Jackson or Ulysses S. Grant, is not the instinct of an American, but a selfish greedy looter scrambling to grab a few dinner rolls off the tray while the ship is going down. There is no policy justification for voting for a man with the worst economic and foreign policy record in the country’s history. There is no American justification for voting for him. Only the UnAmerican motivation of carving up a dying country into group fiefdoms privileging identity politics over the common good.
This is an UnAmerican campaign. It is an Anti-American campaign[……….]

3 “Is [the campaign bus] comfortable?”
4 “Do you actually get to use your blackberry?”
    5. “Red or Green [Chiles]?”
    6. “What’s your favorite New Mexican food?”
    7. “If we were to visit Chicago, what place would you recommend to get some really good soul food?”
    8. “I know your real favorite song has got to be “Call Me Maybe.” You can tell us. It’s okay.”

This analysis proves what I have been saying for 4 years now. The only way Obamee wins this election is through a combination of voter fraud with millions, possibly tens of millions of FRAUDULENT VOTES and a compliant media selling the falsehood that Obamee can win.

Unemployment has averaged 9%+ for four years. If the labor participation rate was where it was at when GWB took office (66%) then the current unemployment rate would be at 14%. Add in underemployed and it’s 25%: One in four.

There are almost 47 million Americans on food stamps. That’s one in six.

By historical accounts, Mitt Romney should be ahead by 10-15 points. The talk right now should be of how the Dems won’t be able to compete in an election until at least 2020.

But we’re looking at “four more years” of Obamee. Really? How?

Does anyone you know plan on voting for Obamee?

Ask yourself after 2010 how this isn’t going to be the largest GOP landslide in modern history? Ask yourself why the press isn’t seriously talking about the Republicans being able to pick up not three, but thirteen seats in the Senate? Ask yourself why we’re not talking about the GOP picking up another sixty seats in the House? Ask yourself why the media isn’t talking about how the only blue states left in the union are literally New York, Illinois, and California, and Republicans will control the rest completely for a generation, if not the rest of your lifetime?

The Media is underreporting the truth by 10-20% in the polls. All indications are that 2012 will be an even larger landslide than 2010 or even 1984. Mitt Romney may end up with 450 or more electoral votes.

    And why?

Because PRACTICALLY EVERY SINGLE REPUBLICAN will vote this year. Turnout among registered GOP voters may approach 90%. It will be UNPRECEDENTED. Realistic turnout for the Dems will be in the 40-50% range. If it’s higher then that, it’s FRAUD.

There is NO WAY Obamee wins this election without cheating.

What will you be prepared to do to stop that from happening and to SAVE YOUR COUNTRY FROM DEBT SLAVERY?

Think long and hard, and then ACT.

No-bama 2012: Young voters fed up with economy

[GO boasted this past week that its family of Facebook pages –
with names like “We Like Small Government” and “Gas Prices Are
too D— High” – have topped over 4 million “likes” and growing,
fueled by a young demographic that polls show is increasingly
    disillusioned with Obama’s economic policies.

“Every day, young Americans search for meaningful, full-time jobs
in a career of their choice and, instead, experience first-hand the
stark reality imposed by the poor economy,” states Paul. T. Conway,
president of GO and a former chief of staff of the U.S. Department
of Labor. “Rather than resorting to pessimism, however, young
adults are taking a harder look at who and what is creating barriers
    to economic opportunity.

“Increasingly, they identify elected officials and policies that result in
more government interference,” Conway continues. “As they continue
to deal with the highest sustained unemployment since World War II,
Millennials have definitely concluded that government intervention in
the economy is the problem, not the solution.”]

Re #17. Realclear uses obviously partisan, outlying, faked polls to bump up Obama’s average. That’s why you see a poll with say, Obama up 9%. Check the internals and you’ll see. Intrade had Obamacare being struck down. And they had it big.. This is a crisis atmosphere and is perceived as such by voters. Not by the “elites”. The “elites” will do fine regardless. Paul Ryan, worse than Palin

    Coming from examiner. Say What?

  • Patty

Russell Allyn was the writer of the piece “Paul Ryan, worse than Palin”

works for Progressive Examiner, what ever that means.

really cuts and dices Paul Ryan. Who is this guy really working for?

  • Patty

. Ryan was Obama’s choice for VP, not Romney’s. Ryan’s nomination confirms that even Romney thought he was losing an election being framed as a referendum on President Obama. But in changing it to a choice-election, Romney fell into Team Obama’s play-book with its preferred – and some would say hand-selected – opponent in the form of Paul Ryan. Ryan is best known for his deficit finagling in the form of the Republican “Roadmap,” which can be easily summarized, and lampooned, as “right wing social engineering” aimed at privatizing Social Security, voucherizing and ending Medicare as we know it and block-granting and slashing Medicaid. When was the last time one let one’s opponent select one’s running mate? At least no one outside the McCain campaign can claim credit, or shame, for choosing Palin.

    A Catholic for Vice President

Governor Romney’s selection of Congressman Paul Ryan as his vice presidential running mate is a win-win for Michigan Catholics across the state. Not only is Congressman Ryan widely respected for his strong record on issues that matter to the Catholic community, but the Congressman is a Catholic himself, being only the second Catholic ever nominated by Republicans to national office.

Congressman Paul Ryan is unwavering in his commitment to Catholic values, having received a perfect 100 percent rating from the National Right to Life Committee, and believing, like Governor Romney, in the preservation of traditional marriage. In addition, Congressman Ryan is a strong defender of religious conscience and is in firm opposition to President Obama’s HHS mandate that takes away this fundamental right that is sacred to Catholics.[,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,] Read more here: http://www.mittromney.com/blogs/mitts-view/2012/08/catholic-vice-president

    #72:

This is not just a Catholic issue; it is a Christian issue. We need to make that point repeatedly so people will realize that the attack is against all Christians as well as some others.
