He’s That Bad… Even Newsweek Turns on Obama

Newsweek turns on its master.

How did this ever make the cover?
Niall Ferguson at Newsweek says it’s time for our failed president to go Barack home.

Why does Paul Ryan scare the president so much? Because Obama has broken his promises, and it’s clear that the GOP ticket’s path to prosperity is our only hope.

I was a good loser four years ago. “In the grand scheme of history,” I wrote the day after Barack Obama’s election as president, “four decades is not an especially long time. Yet in that brief period America has gone from the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. to the apotheosis of Barack Obama. You would not be human if you failed to acknowledge this as a cause for great rejoicing.”

Despite having been—full disclosure—an adviser to John McCain, I acknowledged his opponent’s remarkable qualities: his soaring oratory, his cool, hard-to-ruffle temperament, and his near faultless campaign organization.

Yet the question confronting the country nearly four years later is not who was the better candidate four years ago. It is whether the winner has delivered on his promises. And the sad truth is that he has not.

In his inaugural address, Obama promised “not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth.” He promised to “build the roads and bridges, the electric grids, and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together.” He promised to “restore science to its rightful place and wield technology’s wonders to raise health care’s quality and lower its cost.” And he promised to “transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age.” Unfortunately the president’s scorecard on every single one of those bold pledges is pitiful.

Wonderful. An honest reporter.

You right on here Jim – an honest reporter. It was only a matter of time and time is on our side right now because all of us have plenty of time to work on the Romney Ryan ticket to make sure flyover America is ready to march to the polls in November and throw this mistake of an American President out of office.

I suspect there are many other rats ready to leave the ship in the liberal media – working hard now on their various apologist essays and articles.

Yes – us small town folks who “cling to their guns and religion” will never forget that these words came out of Obama’s mouth. We have continued to both of these things as we’ve been talking over the kitchen table and at neighborhood gatherings for several years.

And let me tell you – one of the funniest games I’ve enjoyed this summer with all kinds of age groups and types of folks is this one: Who can come up with the stupidest things this President has ever said to outrage you or yours?

You know – a Round Robin across the table kind of game. Fun for all. Amazing how much we remember.

The time of reckoning is rapidly approaching…will media members be eternal drooling sycophants or will they see the light and attempt to save what little credibility they have left? It will be interesting to watch this narrative to unfold.

The only thing SØBama has built in this country is more racial and class division.

Hit the road Barrack! And don’t come back no mo, no.

I imagine Newsweek actually wanted to sell a few copies to pay off favored creditors before they go completely out of business. How many copies could they sell by polishing O’s apple for the thousandth time? Had to do something. Next week’s article will be on flying pigs.

i disagree with the writer, obama has delivered on his promises. they were to destroy this country. he has done everything in his power to achieve those goals. anybody that didn’t know that was what “hope and change “meant in 2008 wasn’t paying attention. if was obvious that he was a racist and a marxist and his policies prove that everyday of his presidency.

Interview with the author of the piece (who appears to be a Republican, but still, it’s amazing that Newsweek broke with tradition of liberals only, no conservatives need apply) on Face the Nation:

  • Sarah

Ditto to #10. I get so frustrated when I hear people say that Obama did not fulfill his promises because he surely did, and then some. Whoever thinks Obama didn’t deliver wasn’t paying attention to what he was saying or to his background.

  • Bubba

Gee…how do you know Obama and his whining team of panty wastes will be calling up Newsweek to complain about this unfair coverage. They cry and complain all the time.

If Barry starts to lose the MSM, he’s absolutely done like dinner.

Niall Ferguson is Welsh. I don’t know if he’s become a citizen. However he is an accomplished historian and economist. He’s been a defender of the existence of the British Empire and has seen America as the true inheritor not to Empire but to world influence. He’s been highly critical of how America has gone about things since 9/11 and even since the fall of communism. He’s a capitalist and a believer in free markets and individual liberty. His presence at Newsday is, to me, very odd. Let alone giving him such notoriety. Evan Thomas must be enraged.

Some of us will never forget the legacy media’s part in the selection of Kenya Boy. The spin, bias and dishonesty…the lies by omission and even outright lies…Journolist…the “unofficial campaign” to elect “the first black POTUS”…the years-long attacking of Sarah Palin, the TEA Party-bashing, “birther-bashing, conservative-bashing, Republican-bashing, pro-Marxism, pro-Socialism, race-baiting, Islamophilic, pro-UN, US Constitution-hating, America-hating, middle America-hating… All of this is barely the tip of that ice berg. They may write and publish nothing but apologist essays and articles for the rest of their days and every one of them will die a rat in the end. They can sink with the ship for all that I care.

Yes, watching this narrative unfold will be interesting. I’ll be watching it play out with the rest of you, but only as a curious onlooker, without concern for the players or care for how it ends. Any credibility they once had they destroyed over the last four+ years.

It’ll be interesting to see the sales figures for this week’s magazine. How many leftoids WON’T buy the mag because of the cover, and how many conservatives will buy it as a souvenir?

I’m guessing figures will be up. Normally 5 people buy it, so even if they turn off, the number of people buying this to stick up on their walls or their office has got to be high.

Puleeeze..You are all a bunch of eval rethuglicants. Why cant you just accept that a black man is supeprior in every way to your little RACIST minds? We need a bigger stimulus, free birth control and abortion on demand. True that Repubs have war on women. Barack Obama is not only cool but genius IQ and is married to the best first lady ever who just happens to be one of the most beautiful women in the world too. The reason country is still hurting is Congress refuses to do anything but obstruct a great leader. Think about it….he already earned and won a Nobel Peace Prize as did former great man Carter and Gore. Don’t see one freaking Repub with such honor given by Europeans, do you? You all want to bring back your eval Repub KKK and lynchings. FREE MUMIA. FREE black men from racist prisons. Stop arresting colored peoples for planted evidence! There should be free love, free education, free medical, free drugs, garanteed living wage of $40,000 a year. Just stop killing peaceful Islam too.

How did this ever make the cover?

Someone lost a bet that Ryan would never be the VP pick as that would be brilliant by Mitt and could have them win in a landslide. The cover story was the prize. Next Week will be a X-rated loved fest of Obama or R-rated attack on Mitt.

#10 tommy mc connell and #12 Sarah:

If McCain had won in 2008 and the economy was this brutal – trust me – they would be looking at the end of their one and only one term as an American President.

Like it or not – we were in a national crisis that began when we had a major Wall Street crash in September 2008 (remember – both McCain and Obama suspended their Presidential campaigns to come and work on that crisis —–the one where Americans almost faced a day when they could not get money out of their ATM machines?????)

Obama unfortunately made a decision to work on Obamacare only as his priority – and – by hook or crook – he did get to sign it into law….

but in the meanwhile, millions of families lost their jobs, millions of families lost their homes, millions of Americans went on the government dole in one way or another and millions of kids watched their families divorce, fight, move downward and tell them that the American Dream is over.

Obama. McCain. It doesn’t really matte at this point. We need to turn our country back on track – on a right direction.

And this current American President never did that. So he is history as of November 2012.
