Chick-fil-A spoke out for Christian values.
Now they must be punished.
Chicago banned Chick-fil-A from building a new store in the city.
The intolerant left strikes again.
The Chicago Tribune reported
The leader of a Christian group today said Ald. Joe Moreno displayed hypocrisy for his decision to deny Chick-fil-A the right to open in his ward because of the chain restaurant president’s opposition to gay marriage.
“It’s hypocritical,” said David Smith, executive director of the Illinois Family Institute, which opposes gay marriage. “Here’s the alderman turning around and being intolerant and discriminatory because somebody has a different view than he does. Would he do that to a Muslim company?”
The Tribune first reported that Moreno, 1st, announced he would exercise his aldermanic privilege to block the construction of the city’s second Chick-fil-A restaurant on the 2500 block of Elston Avenue in increasingly trendy Logan Square.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel backed Moreno’s ideological viewpoint, saying the city does not share the values espoused by Dan Cathy, president of the family-owned Chick-fil-A fast-food restaurant chain.
UPDATE: But Rahm Emanuel is welcoming the assistance from anti-Semitic hate-monger Louis Farrakhan.
UPDATE: So much for values- 31 Chicago Aldermen have been convicted of crimes since 1973. How’s that for values?

I do not think I have ever stopped at a Chick-Fil-A before. After this it will be my “primary” fast food stop in the future..
Any stats that these democrat politicians ranting in Chicago, Boston, and other locations is having any effect on already established Chick-Fil-A restaurants, positive or negative?
I am guessing the business is up with all this free publicity..Many communities are probably more open to them.

Were I Chick a Fill I would support the values of Chicago ….if the lot is big enough I would build 3 small tasteful brick building on that lot ….then I would lease 1 of the building to the Blood ….1 to the Crips and 1 to the Mexican mafia ….1.00 a year for 10 years

Unfortunately for the conservatives here this isn’t a 1st amendment issue it is a zoning issue. Chick-fil-A has every right to promote its Christian values and be a business enterprise. What they don’t have the right to is property that is controlled by the Chicago city council which has the right to refuse building permits to anyone for any reason that impacts the ward. Clearly none of you guys know anything about how politics works in Chicago!

Funny, last time I checked I thought we had religious freedom and tolerance in this country. Apparently that does not apply to Christians in this country anymore. How sad. First of all, I don’t believe anyone ever thought Chicago shared Chick-fil-A’s Christian values. Rahm Emmanuel was speaking a truth (yes, I know that’s rare).

I never thought I’d see the day when stating a simple fact of one’s belief that they follow Christ- centered family values, maligining no one in their statement, would be villified and condemned by elected officials in this country.
Since it’s happened though, what doesn’t surprise me is that it’s coming from Godless, liberal, Democrats (I know, it’s redundant). If the voters in Chicago, Boston and other liberal bastions agree with their mayors, then they deserve what they get. If not, maybe they should get rid of them.
