Barack Obama said in February 2009 that his presidency would be “one-term proposition” if the economy did not recover in three years.

Well, it’s been over three years now and the economy is not improving.
Even the White House admits employment is not growing fast enough.
ABC News reported:

Reacting to this morning’s jobs report, the White House said the economy is continuing to heal but that “much more remains to be done to repair the damage from the financial crisis.”

“It is critical that we continue the policies that build an economy that works for the middle class and makes us stronger and more secure as we dig our way out of the deep hole that was caused by the severe recession,” Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers Alan Krueger said in a written statement.

“There are no quick fixes to the problems we face that were more than a decade in the making. President Obama has proposals to create jobs by ending tax breaks for companies to ship jobs overseas and supporting state and local governments to prevent layoffs and rehire hundreds of thousands of teachers,” he said.

The economy added 80,000 jobs in June, fewer than expected, and the unemployment rate remained unchanged at 8.2 percent, the Labor Department announced this morning.

  12. Thanks to the failed policies and anti-business actions of OBOZO and his dictatorial regime, the American economy is no longer on life support – it is stone cold dead. Rigor mortis has passed and the economy has now become just a decaying, stinking corpse. In spite of this, bailout bernanke, to justify his massive salary and humongous benefits, continues to provide mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to this corpse. All that is doing is creating asset and bond bubbles which help his Wall Street masters reap massive profits, but which also will inevitably collapse causing equally massive harm to the poor and middle class. Even with bailout bernanke’s desperate and potentially harmful actions, the labor force participation rate – the most significant measure of US employment – continues to decline and is now at more than a 30 YEAR LOW.

bailout bernanke insanity = repeating the same failed policies over and over again but expecting a different result.

  13. So they’re claiming sucess because the economy blows, but doesn’t suck? Did anyone bother to ask them if any other “recovery” had such pathetic job creation numbers at this point? Or how many more months must pass until we actually see more jobs created than we have people entering the job market? I get that they’ve been pretending that the economic numbers were somehow hidden in a box and that they didn’t get the key until January 2009 to see “how bad it really was”. They’ve now had three years, and all of THEIR projections and forecast have been dead wrong. And the dear leader is submitting budgets that his own party wouldn’t touch.

  14. bg. It just means that he has not been officially annointed which won’t happen until the DemonRat convention. Right now he is just the presumptive nominee even tho he’s the sleezy preezy. It is highly unlikely, but the dhims could annoint someone else to run against Romney and kick Bammy’s sorry butt to the curb.

    “When the revolution comes….”

[Boss and Obama, however, had a starkly different view. They believed
that the economic stresses of the Carter years meant revolution was
still imminent. The election of Reagan was simply a minor set-back in
terms of the coming revolution. As I recall, Obama repeatedly used the
phrase "When the revolution comes...." In my mind, I remember thinking
that Obama was blindly sticking to the simple Marxist theory that had
characterized my own views while I was an undergraduate at Occidental
College. "There's going to be a revolution," Obama said, "we need to be
organized and grow the movement." In Obama's view, our role must be
to educate others so that we might usher in more quickly this inevitable
    revolution.

  16. Of those 80,000 jobs, one-third of them were TEMPS!!

This being Time, you have to go all the way to the last paragraph to get real information and overlook the ‘ninth straight months’ of gains

    http://business.time.com/2012/07/06/u-s-hiring-likely-improved-only-modestly-in-june/

What is hidden in this report, and similar ones in previous months, is that the “strength” in temp jobs is masking two facts: 1, that employers are choosing to staff with temps instead of full-time employees to keep costs and benefits under control and 2, that long-term unemployed are grasping at these underpaid, dead end jobs since they can’t get anything else.

  17. Prudhomme said she began offering the discount a little more than a year ago. She said she has offered all kinds of discounts or incentives at various times, including some to senior citizens, early-bird diners, children under 12, people who shop at certain other Columbia businesses and even Columbia High School students.
