Drudge reported:

Late Thursday evening, Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign launched a new fundraising drive, ‘Meet The VP’ — just as Romney himself has narrowed the field of candidates to a handful, sources reveal.

And a surprise name is now near the top of the list: Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice!

The timing of the announcement is now set for ‘coming weeks’.

It was Condi who received two standing ovations at Romney’s Utah retreat a few weeks ago, and everyone left with her name on their lips.

Rice made an extended argument for American leadership in the world.

In recent days, she emailed supporters:

“2012 is perhaps a turning point for the United States.”

“The upcoming elections loom as one of the most important in my lifetime,” she warned. “I’m very often asked to speak about our current foreign policy and the challenges that lie before us. However, we, as a country, are not going to be able to address any of those international challenges unless we first get our domestic house in order.”

  1. We are praying it is true. She can wipe the floor with Biden, and then wax it with Obama.
Then sit down and play the Rachmaninoff Concerto #3.
And then call in an airstrike on Iran, after telling Putin to shoveski it.
    Another thing, NWMO likes Lager.

  2. This would definitely get more interesting if a black woman were the VP pick.

The Left will go full-on Racist Mode over this, full throttle, as if right now they were only idling their engine.

Mask-off time for the Racist Left, if this is the case.

I’d prefer Allen West, but I loves me some Condi. “Uncle Tom”, “Aunt Thomasina” (they actually went there…no surprise for the Racist Left) — the more they pile on with the “she’s not really black bulls&it, the more I love her.

The the games begin! The game is 52 cards, hold-em, jokers besides Pelosi and Biden and Obama, and every card is The Race Card!

  3. Condi is a very bad idea. She’s no conservative and Romney needs to shore up the conservative base.

The thought of Condi depresses me. She’s also pro “Arab Spring” and pro-Fakestinian.

She also brings a ton of Bush baggage with her.

We need a conservative for VP. Period.

  4. I’ve heard her say, recently, that she really isn’t interested in an election position. I guess she could change her mind but … other than being a black woman and knowledgeable in foreign affairs, what does she bring? I do know that she’s pro-choice and that would turn a lot of people off.

  5. (oops)

LET the games begin! The game is 52 cards, hold-em, NO jokers besides Pelosi, Biden, and Obama, and every card is The Race Card!

It’s on! Bring your satanic venom, Lefties.

  6. My comment from the previous thread:

I’ve thought Romney’s needed someone strong on foreign policy – especially if BO pulls something right before the election and wants to make MR look unprepared…she’d help on that score…

  7. Condi is not a conservative… and leaves open the arguments that Obama will throw at us that we are going back to the Bush years.

Here’s an idea… how about someone that is a true conservative. If the Romney campaign wants to play the liberal game of picking someone based on group politics… in which the candidate appeals to women and the black vote… then still pick a conservative first… how about Star Parker?

  8. If this happens, it will take a few things away from the Democrats.

One, their phony “Republican War on Women, and two, (something they’re saving) the Romney ticket lack of Foreign Policy experience.

Also, she would be a safe pick. She’s doesn’t have any baggage, and she’s respected by many people from both political parties, including Independents.

Many disgruntled Obama voters in 08, may be persuaded to go with a Romney/Rice ticket.

The next few weeks will be interesting.

I agree, but I’m pretty much of the opinion that Romney, although I will vote for him, is Obama’s White Twin, and whose puppet-strings are controlled by the same people as Obama.

Might as well make it fun, and force the Racist Left to take off their masks for good.

  10. no.

  11. “Condi is not a conservative.”

So what? Romney is not a conservative!

    WGAF?

  12. I still prefer a Romney/Rubio ticket. But, that’s just me.

  13. Condi Rice is not pro-Israel… she supports Affirmative action and also wishy washy on the pro-choice issue. We need a conservative

  14. The choice is now between a commie and two huge RINOs… we are screwed

  15. No, Taq. Sorry. We are fighting for the life of the nation. If we can’t have a conservative in the top slot, at least we should have one as VP.

There are some good conservative women who would be great in the position. Two I can think of: Jan Brewer and Nikki Haley.

  16. How’s about Jim DeMint? Condi is a “Bush conservative”, i.e. liberal Republican.

  17. Rubio is not eligible… but if we’re going to pick a RINO (which Rubio is)… then I think I would prefer Paul Ryan… at least he’s eligible.

  18. If she’s Pro Choice, Pro Affirmative Action, and Pro Arab Spring, the only thing I can say is, next!

What power does the VP wield?
