Alabama Republican Governor Robert Bentley fired back against the AP for its misleading report on Mitt Romney. Bentley said in a statement, “The rhetoric surrounding Mitt Romney’s personal finances is nothing more than an attempt by Democrats to distract from the real issues of the presidential campaign.”

    Someone needs to advise back channel that if the media doesn’t at least fake objectivity, there might just be a Sarbanes-Oxley for the media that holds them to the same long Federal sentences for willful misstatements and requires the publisher to sign off (and face 20 years in prison with Ken Skilling and Bernie Madoff) attesting to the truthfulness of his paper, the accuracy of news statements not on the opinion page, and the verification of third party claims.

    I am sure if Rick Santorum won the nomination, he would be speaking somewere today. He would have been working hard over the 4th of July… marching in some big city parade in a key swing state . Not playing vollyball in a small home state he may not even win.
