The House voted today 244-185 to repeal Obamacare. Five Democrats joined Republicans on the vote.
The Hill reported:
The House voted again Wednesday to repeal the 2010 healthcare reform law, giving Republicans some revenge against the late June Supreme Court ruling that found the law to be constitutional.
Members approved the bill in a 244-185 vote, after five hours of debate that stretched over two days.
As expected, just a handful of Democrats supported the GOP repeal bill. Five Democrats, Reps. Dan Boren (Okla.), Larry Kissell (N.C.), Jim Matheson (Utah), Mike McIntyre (N.C.) and Mike Ross (Ark.), sided with Republicans in the final vote. Of this group, all but Matheson voted with the GOP in a procedural vote on the bill Tuesday.
Republicans insisted on passing the Repeal of Obamacare Act, H.R. 6079, in reaction to the Supreme Court ruling, even though Democrats pointed out that the bill would be ignored by the Democratic Senate. House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) cast the bill as a way to give the Senate another chance to heed the will of Americans who oppose the legislation and see it as something that has led to increased healthcare costs and hindered job creation.
“For those who still support repealing this harmful healthcare law, we’re giving our colleagues in the Senate another chance to heed the will of the American people,” Boehner said, noting the House vote against the law at the start of the 112th Congress. “And for those who did not support repeal the last time, it’s a chance for our colleagues to reconsider.”
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said Republicans felt compelled to put members on the record about the healthcare law after the Supreme Court ruling, which surprised both parties.
Earlier today House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy spoke on the House Floor in support of #FullRepeal of ObamaCare.
Paul Ryan: The President’s health care bill and must be repealed.

Big F__king deal, the Senate will shelf it and even if they didn’t 0bama would veto it. This wont mean squat until Harry Reid and 0bama are no longer in charge.

Attention American voting public: Republicans are showing you they tried, and are willing to keep trying. You got ticked off at Obama and the Democrats and in 2010 you handed control of the House to Republicans, and look what you got: 1/3 of the way to repealing ObamaTaxCare. Congratulations, you’re part of the way there. Go to the polls in November, enter your voting booth or step up to your touch screen, and remember: Republicans need at least 51 votes in the Senate and a Republican in the White House in order to finish the last 2/3 of the repeal. Chief Justice John Roberts put it in your hands–it’s up to you.
Michael Zak commented:
This vote is very important, as it shows voters that House Republicans are all on the side of freedom from Obamacare.

Yes it shows republicans are trying, but if the communist media blacks it out from the public’s viewing its not going to matter ……….

HOUSE REPUBLICANS REPEAL OBAMATAX LAW
if and when they actually do that GP, i’ll be the first to apologize for
having been right about ObamaCare’s path for the past 4 years, iow:
Tell Boehner We Want Action Not Theater
[The House is prepared to vote to repeal Obamacare. It will be the 31st such vote since the demonstrably unpopular socialist bill was rammed down our throats. Obamacare is the most opposed piece of legislation Obama has pushed through–60 percent of the nation opposes it and 83 percent of all doctors say they are considering leaving medical practice specifically because of this legislation.
There is no need to dance around with this hated legislation. There isn’t a snowball’s chance in the desert of the attempt to repeal the Bill passing when it hits the Senate. I believe the correct move is to defund it. Then work to gain a super majority in the Senate and gain more seats in the House this November. Armed with a super majority in the Senate and a substantial majority in the House, Obamcare can be successfully repealed.
The House Republicans should flood the airwaves with Obama saying, “the healthcare mandate is not a tax.” They should run ads using Obama’s criticizing others for exactly what he is doing now. Those clips should be as prevalent on internet ads as Obama’s arrogant wife’s ads telling people to support her husband.
They should point out that Obama is as committed to raising taxes as Satan is to sin. Republicans should be flooding the airwaves with the fact that Obama is going to almost double the death tax. In the coming months all estates valued at $1 million aggregate will be taxed at 55 percent. At the present time all estates valued at $5 million or more are taxed at 35 percent. Why haven’t the Republicans brought this punitive tax increase to the people as something we should fight against?
The Republicans should blanket the nation with simple, easy-to-read and understand, single page notices clearly delineating the lies Obama, and Democrats like Pelosi, told about what the Bill would and would not do. Obama cannot run from his own words, but he doesn’t have to if they aren’t known to everyone.
This should be a full frontal assault. Sixty-percent of We the People oppose Obamacare. Eighty-three percent of doctors are considering leaving the healthcare profession because of it. It will cost close to another million jobs as the true unemployment number is above 14 percent. Obama said healthcare would save money when we now know that at the very least it will increase spending another $1.2 trillion over 10 years. That means Obama will be out of office, raking in millions of dollars in speaking fees, and his wife will be spending like a drunken ghetto queen, as We the People suffer more lost jobs and increased debt. If the debt load is unsustainable now, what will it be then?]
Amen!!

Tia the nature of women to want security. Not blaming ALL women but sorry. A statistical majority has out voted you. Human nature is what it is. Many hate to admit it. Knew I’d get flak for saying it. I think Ann coulter or Michelle Malkin stated the same. Tough having facts slap you in the face.

Eric Cantor should release a statement saying that for the rest of the 112th Congress, no other business will be taken up until Obameecare is 100% gone.
It then becomes Obamee’s decision to shut the government down, breach the debt ceiling and watch America fall into a immediate fiscal crisis, and raise taxes on all Americans and make the American people suffer. It will be 100% Obamee’s choice to do so.
No government until Obameecare is gone.
Really is that simple.
