Oregon “Teacher of the Year”, Elena Garcia-Velasco, praises Obama and can barely speak English as she gives her speech at Roosevelt High School’s 2012 graduation ceremony in Portland.
If this was her graduation speech, you can only imagine the lefty indoctrination she must be spewing in the classroom.

    I had great difficulty understanding anything she spewed after the first sentence. Bad enough to have a far-left indoctrinator but one who makes it a chore to even pick up on basic speech patterns? Pathetic.

    My Great-Grandfather came here from Mexico during the depression. He died young and I don’t remember him. What I DO remember is my Granpapa telling me how everyone was expected to learn English fluently, to the point he almost banned Spanish from the house. He wanted his kids to fit in with their new home.

    We still speak Spanish at get togethers and with friends, but every time I see a chica like this, I cringe. It reflects badly on us all. My Great-Grandparents were correct in their assertion that speaking English well gains you respect. I can hardly believe this chica is a teacher, let alone ‘teacher of the year’.

    The explanation is very simple…………She was selected by the student body and she looks hot…Compared to the other folks on stage she is very hot….Note the apt attention paid by the the folks in the background tossing the football. That father and son probably has the best understanding of how much importance to give to se se vende, puede, verde or what ever she was saying

    Just one more reason to cut off the funding to these union turds. They’re using our money to advance their own political agenda. Is it any wonder that Subprime spends most of his time in front of audiences of indoctrinated 18-year-olds and their stupid teachers? Or why, when he talks about jobs, the only jobs he’s able to come up with are public-union ones.

    I would have liked to hear the black teacher speak. I bet she’s a genius too.

    Wow! She can speak English. She has a thick accent but in no way is that “she can barely speak English.” She has a halting delivery, but that could be due to nerves or something else, not necessarily ignorance of the language.

    So sad! She has NO excuses. I had a roomie in college who did not know a bit of English her freshman year, but worked hard and was so fluent by her fourth year that she was able to teach high school geometry perfectly for her student teaching. If you are a teacher of ANY kind, you should be expected to be able to use correct grammar and be understandable.

    What is it about Obama’s eyes and wide grin that she finds so inspirational? She doesn’t really say, does she? Is it approval? She’s certainly getting applause and approval from her peers and her students. She appears to approve that Obama has gotten the Feds to take over student loans.
