Unreal… Obama Administration Is Pushing Food Stamps in Latest Ad Campaign: “They Make You Look Good”

It’s an Obama world.

The Obama Administration wants more people on food stamps.
A new ad campaign urges people to sign up, telling them, “They make you look good.”

Because one out of seven Americans on food stamps is not enough.
CNN Money reported, via FOX Nation:

More than one in seven Americans are on food stamps, but the federal government wants even more people to sign up for the safety net program.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has been running radio ads for the past four months encouraging those eligible to enroll. The campaign is targeted at the elderly, working poor, the unemployed and Hispanics.

The department is spending between $2.5 million and $3 million on paid spots, and free public service announcements are also airing. The campaign can be heard in California, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, and the New York metro area.

“Research has shown that many people — particularly underserved seniors, working poor, and legal immigrants — do not understand the requirements of the program,” said Kevin Concannon, a USDA under secretary.

The radio ads, which run through June 30, come amid a bitter partisan fight over the safety net program. Republican lawmakers want to reduce funding for the benefit or turn it into a block grant program, which would also minimize the cost. Democrats, however, are not willing to make major cuts.

Can we all agree now that Barack Obama really is the food stamp president?

In spite of record-setting Obama deficit spending on welfare, poverty meter hasn’t moved a bit

Why would that be? Could it be because Impoverished Americans are mostly 1) the aged
    2) entry-level workers?

If that’s true, government action will not affect the numbers. The aged will stay retired, and the young will grow out of it.

In a time where people and the gov’t are already struggling financially, is it right for more money to be spent? No…but while there are those who sincerely need assistance, abuse to the system cannot be overlooked. Alson what is needed is to trim to save money in the long run. I may not be a politician, but the less gov’t interference in our lives, the better, in my honest opinion.

I’m one of the working poor. I make around 18 thou a year, work two jobs, during the summer months one of those jobs really is not around since it is at a sporting arena and the NBA is not in season. I have been struggling for some time now but I refuse to take welfare or food stamps. I have pride and I will never force someone else to pay for my food or shelter.

food stamps are like drugs, the more you get, the harder it is to get off of them. That’s the Democrats’ plan, get folks hooked, get the masses hooked on everything, food stamps, ‘free’ healthcare, free, free, free. Haven’t they done enough damage already? Just an aside, I was very surprised to walk my local farmer’s market (Gold Coast neighborhood, Chicago) a few weeks ago to see that the local farmers, crepe makers, and cheese artisans now take LINK!!! (Illinois’ food stamp program). Now those on food stamps can eat like Barry and Michelle. There’s just something so wrong about using food stamps to buy $18/lb specialty local goat cheese at a Gold Coast farmer’s market. Isn’t that tax payer money better spent buying a brick of Kraft cheddar cheese for $2.49 at the Jewel right across the street from the Farmer’s Market?

Well at least this jerk finally admits what we’ve known along. Oh, and Bob Beckel can now eat crow. C’mon fat boy-Open wide! You can wash it down with that Kool-Aid you’ve been drinking your whole life. Bottoms up!

I recently used a smartphone and the Tune In Radio app to listen to a radio broadcast of a ballgame that was being broadcast from California. I could not believe how many commercials there were that sounded exactly like this! Stuff on the order of “Food stamps are great! Make sure to go get yours!” There were other liberal agenda ads as well, and all in all it was just plain revolting. That’s what the public is being bombarded with in areas of liberal control.

I do believe that it is unnecessary to be promoting Food Stamps. And the fact that this administration would encourage people to get on them is all part of the socialization of America.

Currently, individual income in the U.S. is taxed at a top rate of 35 percent while capital gains and dividends are taxed at a maximum rate of 15 percent. If Congress doesn’t act by the end of 2012, ordinary income and dividends will face a top tax rate of 39.6 percent and the capital gains rate would rise to 20 percent. Obama wants to set the top rate for capital gains and dividends at 20 percent and the top rate for ordinary income at 39.6 percent.

Yes, under Obama we have lost Millions of jobs and this is Obama fault. This food stamps program and dependence on Government will only discourage Americans more. In a few cases Americans will give up and be dependent on Obama and they will actually vote for Obama so I assume this must be his plan. What a real disgrace for a President.

Because of this tax and spend administration more businesses have let American and this reflects of him. Yet, Obama won’t admit that his ideas have failed but I do believe this is falling right into his plans.

    America, let vote him out!!

One more thing: Those race-baiters on the other side owe Newt Gingrich an apology. He was right all along.

Very classy, President Dole. Why don’t you change the name to “Kool Stamps”, since you’re blatantly shilling to older blacks? A private sector enterprise would be pilloried for pitching an insidious, addictive product like this to a targeted ethnic or racial group.

You must be painfully aware that many older blacks are not as enthused with your Preeziness as their fool children and grandchildren are. That’s why the “We’ve Got Your Back” ad sounds like a ’70’s Malt Liquor commercial.

Unless you are dependent on the state, you are an enemy of the state.
    Welcome to Obama’s America.

dwd, you’ve probably noticed an increase in shilling for flood insurance, too. You may. Be living in a flood plain and not even know it, buybuybuy that flood insurance just to be safe!

There is a full-court press to make us subsidize others’ laziness and bad decisions.

We’re falling headlong into Socialism, and millions of supposedly intelligent people either can’t see it, or don’t understand what Socialism means to a free society. They are going to find out though, and they aren’t going to like it.

Let me be clear, I endorse bigger and more invasive government. Once, the sheeple get hook on food stamps or debit cards then I can intimidate them into voting for me. It’s that simple.

Go ahead and get on food stamps. We will know where you live and where to send the pre-filled in absentee ballots… or we will just mail them to your polling place ourselves.

My Limousine is spewing fumes and David Axelrod has another scam to test. I cannot say any more. And, no I will not be granting anymore 0bamacare waivers. Those are for my top donors. Good day.
