It’s time to go, Eric.

(Vision to America)

Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) called on Attorney General Eric Holder to resign today after the House Oversight Committee held the controversial Obama official in contempt yesterday.
The Daily Caller reported:

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio told The Daily Caller on Thursday that it’s time for Attorney General Eric Holder to resign over the Fast and Furious scandal.

During a breakfast for reporters organized by The Christian Science Monitor on Thursday, Rubio responded “yes” when asked if he agrees with presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney and the five other U.S. Senators who have called for Holder’s resignation.

“I think we’re at the point of no return,” Rubio said.

A House committee voted on Wednesday to hold Holder in contempt for not turning over documents related to the program after the White House exerted executive privilege.

“I think evoking executive privilege at the 11th hour yesterday was probably the last straw…I don’t know how the attorney general can continue to exercise that office with any level of credibility after the decision that was made yesterday,” Rubio said.

Other senators have called on Holder to resign, including South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint, Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch, Texas Sen. John Cornyn, Georgia Sen. Johnny Isakson and Oklahoma Sen. James Inhofe.

  1. He’ll be gone by the end of next month.

  2. Lessee now, in this situation WWLD? (What would liberals do?)

Oh yeah. They’d be saying this:

“He’s become so damaged by these allegations that he must resign. For the good of the country. He must resign.”

But – and this is important – WWCD?

Conservatives want to see the evidence, then make up our minds. An allegation is NOT as good as proof to Conservatives; an allegation is not reason for Holder to resign . . . unless the allegations have real substance and are substantially true. That’s why the documents are so important. Holder knows this but will not admit it.

Interestingly, the president’s executive privilege claim draws Obama into this. Now it’s his problem too. Obama may have painted himself into a corner. Remember as a cabinet officer, Holder serves at the pleasure of the president. How much longs can Obama remain pleased with his very own little Watergate ?

  3. Now’s when it gets interesting. Will Holder be thrown under the bus or will Obama circle the wagons? Executive order suggests the latter. The reluctant MSM is being dragged, kicking and screaming all the way, from protecting Obama to reporting a story they desperately want to go away.

The Emperor has no clothes. And indeed he is an empty suit. History will record Obama as absent.

  4. Hopefully an early step in a “surprise” course change for Achmachtdinnerjacket’s “New World Order” [i.e., one without dirty, venal, incompetent little autocrats].

  5. Rubio just put himself on the

VP short list. Stones is what we want an Romney and Rubio have them.

  6. As I understand, this is about only a very small portions of documents pertaining to Fast and Furious. It involves those documents relating to Justice’s response to Congress that misrepresented the purpose of Fast and Furious.

It does NOT involve the wholesale turnover of all documents relating to Fast and Furious.

So, for Holder to resign now might close the case just when it is becoming evident to all but the brain-damaged that the White House is the central player in this scandal.

Now, we have to follow the thread and see where it leads.

  7. Note to the Republican Party: It is very, very unlikely that Holder is going to resign on his own, so repeated calls for his resignation is a waste of breath. If your wish is to see to it that they pay for their crimes, what you do is keep on amassing information into the F&F files and continue putting together all the pieces and solidifying the case, all the while not making too much noise. Concentrate on defeating Obie in November and winning as many congressional races as possible. If you’ve done your work and Obie is kicked out, when Inauguration Day in January rolls around, issue the indictments the next day and then prosecute all of the scumbags to the fullest extent of the law.

Why would you think that? Just because Holder resigns or is forced to resign doesn’t close the case. It simply places the legitimate demand to turn over the documents on whomever takes his place, and now, of course, the White House since Obama saw fit to jump into the middle of this.

  9. he is nothing but a lowlife lieing scumbag

  10. I agree with Rubio here but I’m also calling for Rubio to RESIGN his amnesty schemes.

I don’t trust that the Republicans would continue to prosecute the issue.

It would be just like them to declare victory and go back to business as usual.

  13. I listened to Rep. Elijah Cummings yesterday express his sympathy and support for Mr. Holder, and insist that he believes, believes that it’s really hard to know what all the employees of the DOJ might be up to. I thought the message was very clear: “After all this, you damn well better be telling the truth, that neither you nor the President were involved.”

The documents are ones that have been identified and described by whistleblowers. The whistleblowers in this case have a very good record of being correct about documents they have seen. They are important documents, in the control of DOJ, and ones that the Committee can’t get from other sources.

This is not a trivial matter.

Further, the DOJ has portrayed this as a project initiated at a low level, without AJ or WH review or approval, and yet they have continued to fail to identify what lower-level person exceeded his authority and approved it. If this were a project approved at a lower level, executive privilege, which is limited to direct advice to the President, would not apply. Now, after 18 months, suddenly the President asserts this privilege, without even submitting a privilege log.

  14. Hurray for Rubio. Glad to know that SOMEONE in the GOP has a set.

  15. I could be going crazy…but I’m sure I heard an interview yesterday on FOX (Greta’s show?) with, I think, Issa — and he said that, in a recent chat with Holder, he kept telling him there were “embarrassing” (I remember that word distinctly) things in the documents and that’s why he didn’t want to turn them over.

So incredibly lame, it’s hard to believe…But let’s try to imagine what could be so “embarrassing”…or what we might consider embarrassing…”I just went poopie in my pants” maybe..?

Don’t know if it’s been reported here, but the offer from Holder to Issa was that he – Holder – would verbally tell Issa what was in the papers – not turn any over to him – on the condition that Issa would then promise that the entire matter would be dropped afterward.

In other words, “Trust me, I’ll tell you the truth, and, poof! all this bother goes away.”

Just to remind folks who don’t watch FOX, this has been going on for 18 months. Stalling tactic after stalling tactic. What papers were turned over – the number may sound like alot, but it was truly miniscule compared to what was needed – were blacked out all over to hide supposedly sensitive information.

Way past time for Holder – and President Poopie Pants – to go.

  16. Holder to be thrown under the choomwagon with Grandma and Rev. Wright in 3…2…1…

  17. Palin said that last year, but better late than never Mr. Rubio.

  19. Obama says things like: “This is the right thing to do.” “Let’s be fair”.

The right thing to do in this case, you liar, would be to WANT justice for the murdered human beings that were innocent victims of a secret operation that went wrong because of the ineptness and incompetence of your administration and YOU. Being “fair” would NOT include preventing Congress’ investigation from going forward and obtaining the facts. You, Obama and Holder, are NOT doing the right thing and are not being FAIR to Brian Terry’s family and all the other families of murdered victims that perished due to YOUR nefarious deeds.

You, Obama and Holder, belong in prison.
