Awful… McCaskill Votes for Expensive New Coal Regulations But Denies It on Her Website

In case we needed further proof that Claire McCaskill’s rhetoric doesn’t match her record…

This morning, Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) voted with her party to implement the EPA’s MACT rule, one of the costliest regulations in U.S. history—and one that will prove especially devastating to coal-dependent states such as Missouri.

The measure voted on today would have overturned regulations that coal industry groups have said will hurt the economy, close power plant doors and raise electricity costs.

McCaskill voted for the costly new regulations.

Apparently her campaign didn’t get the memo.
Here’s a screen grab from her site’s “Energy” issue page:

It’s bad enough that Claire voted for expensive new regulations that will force Missouri electricity prices to skyrocket… It’s worse that she’s not honest about it.

Related… Senator McCaskill stands by her statement that the Senate passed a budget.

Boy, the democratic women must be menopausal, first Warren, now McCaskill.

More money to be made from all those Eco, fat cat liberals outside of her state than from her constituents. If the people of Missouri are too stupid to elect someone better, then they deserve each other. It’s just a shame that the rest of the country has to suffer.

“It’s been a turbulent patch for Sen. Claire McCaskill: The Missouri Democrat has seen a Senate ethics complaint filed against her over the practice of billing purely political travel to taxpayers, she’s admitted to failing to pay $287,273 in property taxes on her private jet (by “mistake,” of course), and now Big Government has dug up a few additional tax-related misadventures from her past.

McCaskill says these developments are terribly “embarrassing” and make her “sick to her stomach.”  Not too sick, it seems, for a quick jaunt to Manhattan’s Upper East Side for a cozy political fundraiser with major Democratic donors…”

    This is NOT a problem.

Publish it far and wide, and make sure everyone in Missouri knows about it. EVERYONE.

#1 – no doubt she’s having hot flashes but it is due to proximity of hell and not her age.

    WHORE

actually, i’m more worried about the R primary. I’m assuming a very light turn out. Steelman/Atkin could split the vote…allowing Bruner to win.

this could work out very badly for the Rs

  • Democratic Sens. Mary Landrieu (La.), Joe Manchin (W.Va.), Ben Nelson (Neb.), Mark Warner (Va.), and Jim Webb (Va.) joined most Republicans in supporting Inhofe’s failed proposal.

This vile woman HAS to go!

    What wrong?

Democrat Clair McCaskill is just killing more jobs. It’s fun to kill jobs and drive up energy prices. I do myself and I enjoy it!

I must commend democrat McCaskill on the art of speaking out of both sides of her mouth without flinching. It takes years of practice to say one thing to one group people and the opposite to another group of people. It takes practice to be come a practiced liar.

Now, when it come the top liars I consider myself at the very top. I tell the idiot people they will get free gas and then jack the price of gas through the roof. I tell the stupid people that I didn’t run up their credit card – but I did – by 5,000,000,000,000 dollars – if you stacked $2.3 trillion dollar bills it would reach the moon – I done that and more! I explain that 0bamacare is good for the Taxpayer then handout exemptions to my cronies because it really sucks. I lie!

Gad, the people lap up my lies. I joke about it in the back of the limousine with David Axelrod. Ha ha! That’s the big difference between me and my opponent. He can’t lie because of his religion. I can lie. Vote for me. Good day.

How much longer do we have to wait until we can use the historical referance:

‘tell them the big lie, and tell it to them often! Sooner or later the people will believe it!’?

Seems like this is the Obama strategy, and now the McCaskill plan.

Carrying signs calling out each of her lies is a good idea for every McCaskill event!

It would come as no surprise if he indeed does that.

  • Mr Clyde

Liberals lie about everything, all the time.

  • JR

In the Official Elizabeth Warren Cherokee Dictionary the word Democrat is defined as “People who constantly lie in order to stay in power so that they can pass utterly stupid laws and regulations and can hand massive crony contracts to their family, friends and contributors.”

The current Senate is not about damage control, it is about controlled damage – to us , our country, our national security, our ability to exist as a free nation. There is no depth that the current senate leadershiop will sink to in order to bring about our destruction. They must be defeated and if low turnout in MO is a concern, then we the people better make sure we actually care enough to not allow that to happen.

Maybe she’s trying to get Obama to axe Biden in favor of her. He’s just stupid and doesn’t know what he’s saying most of the time. She, on the other hand, is an accomplished liar just like Obama and would better balance the ticket.

  • randyinrocklin

well lets look at the Repubs that voted with McCaskill, for this new reg. Scott Brown, Kelly Ayotte (Tea Party????), Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe, Lamar Alexander, these people need to be primaried. Snowe is out . Same ole RINOs.

The average Missouri voter has been lied to by this slick, oily con artist and hasn’t learned about her actual votes. I’ve heard her give interviews to local conservative radio and obfuscate most convincingly. She’s really heinous in her ability to come across as a good ol’ gal who shares your concerns and views, while in reality she can’t wait to jet back to Washington and plot with the radicals there. I hope someone is planning some very revealing ads about her voting record, contrasting it with some of her glib, “I’m all about you” statements.

The fact is that the ad in this article says that McCaskill supported delaying the implementation of these rules–not killing them altogether. This is the way she is–vote the party line, if not today, then tomorrow when the issue has lost its newsworthiness.

Here in Missouri, Ameren Missouri, aka Ameren UE, the spawn of Union Electric, just sent everyone a notice that it will be filing for a 14% rate increase soon. Isn’t it convenient that she voted on the rules changes just in time for the electric industry to have the justification they needed for this rate hike? Stinks like collusion, aka sh*t, all the way to Washington.

  • OhioHistorian

All people who vote for her will be in one of three categories: Don’t mind being lied to, will vote for a Democrat despite being lied to, or are uninformed enough to think that she actually told them the truth. Question is, is that a majority of Missouri voters?

We have the same problem in Ohio. Good ol’ Senator Brown also voted against this disapproval resolution, which means that he also favors shutting down coal burning. AEP here in the Midwest has announced about 25% of capacity being shut down as a result. My suggestion is that Washington, DC be put on the bottom of all electrical priority, so that they can only have power when there is plenty. Let the liberal numbskulls in DC live by their decisions for once.

  • My good ol’ buddy, Sherrod Brown, also voted for it. Haven’t seen the quote, but he’ll have some semi-infinite (half-vast) excuse.
