VFW Demands Apology After MSNBC Analyst Disses Dead Soldiers

The Veterans of Foreign Wars group responded today to the awful remarks by MSNBC analyst Chris Hayes by saying his comments “are reprehensible and disgusting.” The veteran’s group is asking for the MSNBC host to apologize.

Here again was Hayes on our fallen soldiers.

What a jerk.

The Weekly Standard reported:

“Chris Hayes’ recent remarks on MSNBC regarding our fallen service members are reprehensible and disgusting,” Richard DeNoyer, a VFW official, told Fox News in a statement. “His words reflect his obvious disregard for the service and sacrifice of the men and women who have paid the ultimate price while defending our nation. His insipid statement is particularly callous because it comes at a time when our entire nation pauses to reflect and honor the memory of our nations’ fallen heroes.”

“It is especially devastating to the many broken-hearted children, spouses and parents, left behind to grieve for a loved one,” DeNoyer also said. “Such an ignorant and uncaring and blatant disregard for people’s deep feelings are indefensible, and that is why the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States demand that Mr. Hayes and MSNBC provides an immediate and unequivocal apology.”

The VFW also slammed the Soros-funded Center for American Progress this week for a misleading report on the organization.

This guy really stepped in it. He doesn’t rate licking the boots of a brave American Soldier let alone voicing his little opinion about the fighting heroes of the American military.

Would you expect anything different from MSNBC? That channel is blocked from my home, that and porn. I guess there’s not much difference is there?

  • Rachelle

MSNBC is clinging to the scum demographic.

    No surprise scum watch.

By why does anyone advertise with them? That should stop.

  • bigkahuna

Wow Rick Madcow’s little sister is in for some fun this week.

However dont let this distract us too much from the failure that is Obama and the liberal dummycrats in congress.

Hayes is the typical leftist, who doesn’t understand the difference between a soldier doing their duty honorably and possibly dying for their country vs. disagreeing with the leaders who decide the very question of whether or not we go to war. He seems to believe that because we have many brave men and women who go into conflict and defend our country, our rights and our way of life, that they must not be heroes becuase they engage in warfare. Chris wake up! The world is a dangerous place where we will ALWAYS have to be aware of those who would seek to bring down the US. Disagree if you wish about the value of a particular operation, but never deny our men and women their rightful respect, admiration and thanks.

Anybody brave enough to put on the uniform is a hero. I wonder if this POS would go to work everyday if there was a chance he would be killed in the line of duty? Nope.

Indiana…..Porn is more truthful and has better morals than PMSNBC lol.

Proud to know that VETS aren’t going to take this lightly. I want the little pinhead fired.

I see Olbermann in his future. Thanks for the update on this story.

  • jony101

chris hayes true heroes are the gay people demanding their gay rights or even the women fighting for there rights to have unlimited abortions 24/7 paid by the government. Those are his true heroes. Maybe satan also is one of his heroes.
I believe many of the leftists are also satanist, why else would they behave the way they do. Mental defect?
Is he even american or just another “immigrant”. I can’s believe a true american behaving the way he does. Does he believe that his pacifism will be embraced by the taliban? he will be one of the first ones they line up on the wall, Our enemies hate cowards just as much as we do, probably more.

  • bigkahuna

Anyone else think this Chris Hayes girl looks creepy ? Her eyes are demonic…and her glasses are just wrong on so many levels.

Patty…I was kind of thinking maybe they would decide to bring Keith Olberbite back again.

  • kato

One has to wonder about how these media outlets can be so clueless. Personally, I can’t imagine wasting even a minute listening to this twerp give his views about anything.

  • Winston Wolfe

Don’t waste your time asking for an apology.

    He wouldn’t mean it anyway.

Ah, the Pansy Left. It’s all about their feelings. This guy should put on a dress and join the gals at The View.

Why should MSNBC apologize? Hayes has done nothing other than express core progressive communitarian ideology: one who loses their life in the service of one’s country is the core of normal progressive existence. One’s life is expendable should the country need to consume it. One’s existence, education, work and death are all in the service of the country. There is no sarcasm here; this is a core tenant of progressive communitarianism.

To demand an apology is to require a dog apologize for barking, a snake for biting, a tick for sucking blood. The only apology due is from those who are shocked at the natural way of being of these creatures, apologizing for being so remarkably ignorant as to be surprised that a progressive sees the lose of life as nothing special when done as required by the country.

  • Matt

    The chilling of free speech.

He doesn’t owe anybody an apology. He doesn’t believe in war and thinks that calling every soldier who dies in action a hero encourages war. It is not an unreasonable position for somebody who is anti-war and in a free country he is allowed to make it.

The fact that he is right must mean nothing to you.

Dying is not a heroic act. To paraphrase Patton, a soldiers job is not to die for their country, it is to make some other son of a bitch die for theirs.

Being a soldier is an honorable job, but heroism requires something more than dying. Dying is not a heroic act.

[Hayes is married to Kate A. Shaw, Associate Counsel for President Barack Obama and daughter of award-winning Chicago journalist Andy Shaw, who has also appeared a number…] and his brother luke is a democrat political operative per wiki….

  • RobCary

I agree that he has a right to say it and think we get caught up doing the same thing as the left in trying to shout down what we don’t agree with. That said, we can make it very clear how we feel about what he said in very clear terms. Just don’t agree with the firing, etc., as that is what the left is trying to do with anyone who disagrees with them. Free speech is one of the basic bedrocks of our nation and is one of the things that makes us great.

I’m with Rachelle … why would ANYONE advertise on this loser

  • Scott

Glad the VFW is putting this ungrateful twerp in his place. I doubt neither he nor NBC have the decency to apologize.

  • Syble

OK Hayes fella… YOU volunteer to go out there and lay your life on the line for just ONE DAY..
Let a few terrorists shoot at you and throw in a few IED’s for good measure, as you walk back to your safe little haven… Maybe the guy that was sent to watch YOUR back decides today is the day to blow your BRAIN away.. while you are cooking in your gear and the hot desert sun….Then be told to play nice and be PC to those same Terrorists (Heck you can’t even show respect and be PC with the people who keep your freedoms for you).. just put in the least little skin.. and then tell me they are not Hero’s I dare you, ya Candy Butt, big mouth lame brain, excuse .. I hope one day to see you begging for your freedoms and your liberal Momma pampered friends, can spit in your face.

  • LTC F

I’m a veteran of 23 years, and a life VFW member. I don’t want an apology from this clown. Would he mean it? No, it would be some fake gesture to save his job or his tiny MSDNC audience. Screw him and the horse he rode in on, but I don’t want his apology.

[Maybe business schools should think about sending their students to
boot camp instead. A study of CEOs who have served in the military
finds that companies run by former soldiers are less likely to commit

Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from criticism of that speech, fool.

  • bigkahuna

I dont expect or want an apology.

However I do hope these scum continue to bleed viewers and money so their are fewer to watch and they are easier to keep an eye on.

That they so brazenly show their hatered of the miltary and capitalism and so on these days is a bit surprising. But hey its easier to see the enemy for what they are.

  • Freddy

    This is really quite simple.

    Chris Hayes is NOT patriotic.

Remember this any time you hear of anything he says or write.

  • Linda

He claims to not want anymore wars…well by all means tell Obama, but it does not give him the right to disrespect Military Families on this day and we do a disservice to our Fallen Heroes, their Families to excuse this dishonor!

I’d like to see some intrepid blogger / researcher (hint hint) come up with a list of all the things that MSNBC has been forced to apologize for over the past few years. (Not to mention what they should apologize for, but have not).

A list of, at least, the times MSNBC has been forced to come out and say, “yeah, we were wrong”. It would be interesting to compare such a list to one for FOX, which I cannot even remember once being forced to admit such (always ideological) screw-ups. They probably have on occasion, but it seems MSNBC has to do it every few months at least.

Says quite a lot, wouldn’t you say?

So does someone who disagree with you get the same latitude? Or are you going to be first in line to demand they retract what was said and apologize for uttering what you believe to be false.

Either free speech is truly free and unfettered even when it might offend you, or when either side says something reprehensible amends must be made.

You just want what you espouse to be what is allowed to be discussed in the marketplace of ideas. That is not free speech. But then you won’t ever have the wit to grasp the nuance.

Bill probably doesn’t have even the remotest inkling of what his money is being used for, just as Barbra Streisand hasn’t a clue.

But there is a tiny glimmer of hope since there are some strong rumblings that NBC wants out of the “partnership”:

NBC may buy Microsoft ‘s MSNBC .com stake | Reuters

(Reuters) – NBCUniversal is in talks to buy out Microsoft Corp’s 50 percent stake in joint venture MSNBC.com, media reports said.

NBCU parent Comcast Corp is conducting due diligence and the partnership with NBC News could be unwound by this summer, said Adweek, which first reported the talks.

“Discussions are taking place,” Amy Lynn, director of communications at NBC News, told the Wall Street Journal.

It seems Comcast wants to be free to go even farther left than they have been recently. Yeah, that’s being fair and balanced, unbiased, by trying to outdo Pravda for shameless propaganda organ of “The State”.

Hey Mattie, weren’t you here bashing Rush Limbaugh for things he said? Free speech, right? Oh, that’s right, if someone who disagrees with your ideological point of view expresses his/her opinion, it’s hate speech! Don’t bother to respond, I couldn’t care less about your twisted pretzel logic.

It is because of the heroic victories won in past wars that you have the freedom to open your stupid mouth before the masses without fear of imprisonment or even death, you narcissistic, bleeding-heart liberal wimp. Unless you are privy to the intelligence regarding past & present threats to this country, your opinion of war is of minimal consequence–so shut up, already.
