Rick Santorum called Mitt Romney today. It’s over.
The Caucus reported:

Rick Santorum suspended his presidential campaign on Tuesday, bowing to the inevitability of Mitt Romney’s nomination and ending his improbable, come-from-behind quest to become the party’s conservative standard-bearer in the fall.

“We made a decision over the weekend, that while this presidential race for us is over, for me, and we will suspend our campaign today, we are not done fighting,” Mr. Santorum said.

Mr. Santorum made the announcement at a stop in his home state of Pennsylvania after a weekend in which he tended to his 3-year-old daughter, Bella, who had been hospitalized with pneumonia.

Mr. Santorum, who was holding back tears, did not exactly specify why he was ending his presidential bid. He referred to his daughter’s illness, but said she was making great progress and was back home after being hospitalized over the weekend.

  1. Even if you don’t like mitt…t’s time to come together as one to defeat the Marxist Kenyan turd

  2. It was a good heartfelt speech. I like and respect Rick Santorum a lot, enough that I voted for him in the primary. Although Mitt will make a good president, he’s not my ideal candidate. I just hope he chooses a great running mate.

Hats off to Rick Santorum for running a clean, but underfunded race. He put in the time, effort and stood on his principles. Respect to Mr. Santorum… God bless him and his family!

  3. I am never voting for Rommey. He is a liar and a liberal statist who smears conservatives.

    How can I support him!?

Does the GOP have any core values or not? Apparently they do not.

  4. How many do you think will stay home in November?

  5. Dan C. I am going to ask you to just THINK what another Obammy term would mean. Mittens was way, way down on my list, but now we have to band together and defeat this evil we have let into our midst. I know I don’t deserve another 4 years (or more) of Zero, and neither do alot of Americans, including those who have yet to be born. Neither do you.

  6. I fear enough will stay hold and stick proudly to conservative thoughts that Obama will be re-elected.

  7. Dan C you are a pouting child and if you don’t vote for Romney you are no better than one of George Soros’ little minions!!

Like it or not the choice is obvious!!

I am not a big fan of Romney either but the next president will likely choose the path of the SCOTUS for the next twenty years.

How much more debt are you willing to saddle your children and grand children with??

So feel free to sit on your ass come November 6th but I and every other defender of our Republic will be doing everything in my power to defeat the POS POTUS!!!

  8. It’s over all right. Romney/Portmann has no chance for my vote. Ever.

  9. It’s amazing just how many people want us to come together now that their candidate’s come out on top. I don’t think they would have done that if Santorum was the candidate.

I hope that as Obama puts Romney through the mill that Romney’s put others through he realizes that being the “establishment” candidate isn’t as easy as he thinks it will be.

If Romney loses, it’s the “establishment” that deserves credit for his loss, not conservatives. I’m so tired I think I might become an Independent. I’m done with the Republican primary…they stand for nothing.

  10. Tea Partiers need to get together in their states who are plagued with RINOs to find strong conservative republicans to replace them.

It’s too late this election cycle, but there will be another chance in 2014, as some members of Congress will be facing re-election.

  11. While I’m no fan of Romney if you stay home and don’t vote for him consider that a vote for Obama

This election is true crucial for Conservatives to allow their emotions to cloud their judgement like liberals do.

Support the nominee 200% and lets win the WH in November. The future of our great country depends on it

  12. If You Give a $hit, Don’t Vote for Mitt!
    http://bobbi85710.wordpress.com/2012/02/08/if-you-give-a-hit-dont-vote-for-mitt/

    ROOT NEWT

  13. Be aware that one of the Obot strategies will be comments coming from people posing as conservative/republican trying to tell you that they could never vote for Romney because he’s so “liberal”.
Watch out for this classic Alinsky tactic.

  14. #7 “feel free to sit on your ass come November 6th”

That’s what it’s for. Not kissing your mother and children.

The GOP ignores 2010 and runs on a platform of “Manage the Decline” and turns around and bullies Ameikkka.

    FU DC.

  15. I have often said I would voote for the GOP nominee. I voted for McCain (and donated and had a sign in my yard) even though many people who knew me on FR know how much I despised him.

It is about the COUNTRY and the future of our children and grandchildren. Regardless of what you think of Romney’s campaign style (and I was originally a Perry supporter), PLEASE think of our children and grandchildren, and the type of country Obama would leave them!

We are in the 11th hour and our nation is in peril. Please swallow your pride (humility being a very Christian virtue) and support Romney. I know he isn’t a lot of people’s cup of tea, but he is not a Marxist, loves America, and has a wonderful wife who knows how to present herself in a dignified manner. PLEASE! I am not above begging!

Obama thanks you now for your vote.

  17. Sad day.

We can still get behind Newt. If not, we need to push Romney to strongly promote a conservative platform. He must be pushed to confront Comrade Hussein, and not take defensive, reactionary positions. The same dirty tactics that he used against Santorum need to be used against the traitor Hussein.

  18. #3

The GOP’s core value is regaining power even if it means nominating a man who has changed his position on just about every major issue to get elected. Immigration path to citizenship, bush tax cuts, insurance mandates, gun control, support for planned parenthood, stem cell research, right to life, global warming, cap and trade, don’t ask don’t tell, same sex marriage… Is it really believable that one person can change their position on al these issues? His transformation is on par with Saul’s while on the road to Damascus.

  19. It’s not Romney yet! There are actually still states that haven’t voted. If he does turn out to be the nominee he will get my vote, but NOBODY is going to decide my vote FOR ME in MY state’s primary as long as someone is running against Mittens. I am sad that Rick dropped out, but newt hasn’t yet, so the snobs do not get to make my decision for me on April 29, I can think for myself, thank you very much.
Go Newt, for a brokered convention that gives us Allen West! :)

  20. #16 “Obama thanks you now for your vote.”

Note the very same tactics that Stalin’s bootblack employs.

McVain got crushed but gave us Palin. So the GOP runs for cover, and the squishes that can’t even elect a conservative to Congress are telling Red Amerikkka to stuff.

You deserve O’Mamba. I’m writing in or going third party.
