Oh Brother… Media Attacks Romney Over Vacations in France – Forgets About Obama Family’s Non-Stop Globe-Trotting

Oh brother.
The liberal media today is giving Mitt Romney a hard time for enjoying his vacations in France.
It’s as if they completely forgot who’s president.
The Obama family members have enjoyed 16 vacations in three years – during the greatest recession since the Great Depression. And when they’re not vacationing they’re checking out potential vacation getaways while on official state business.
In fact, the Obama Family takes so many vacations they give ‘vacationing’ a bad name. They vacation like it’s a part-time job…
VACATION TO PARIS
In June 2009, President Obama and his family took a “Paris vacation.”
- · “After whisking his wife to Manhattan for dinner and a Broadway show last weekend, President Obama is treating his family to a Paris vacation – paid for, in part, by taxpayers.” [The Boston Globe, 6/5/09]
The vacation included a shopping trip for members of the First Family in the “upscale” St. Germain neighborhood.

Obama reportedly dined at famed chef Alain Ducasse’s restaurant at the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Obama on France: “I need to … get back there.”

VACATION TO SPAIN
In August 2010, the First Lady and the President’s daughter vacationed in Spain.
- · “First Lady Michelle Obama has added another vacation to her summer schedule, with a trip to Spain with daughter Sasha, 9, next month, the White House announced on Monday. The travel is being billed by the White House as a ‘private mother-daughter trip with longtime family friends.’” [Chicago Sun-Times, 7/27/10]
CBC News estimated that the round-trip flight to Spain by itself cost nearly $150,000.
- · “CBS News White House correspondent Mark Knoller reports the C-32A [757] the First Lady used to fly to Spain – one of the planes that usually serves as Air Force Two, and sometimes Air Force One – operates at a Department of Defense reimbursement rate of $11,351 per hour. But, according to the liberal media, Mitt Romney is out of touch.

The left are some of the sickest people. Our nation is not concerned about anything someone with money does on a vacation, so long as it isn’t on the taxpayer’s dime.
In these indebted times, where we are all tightening our belts and 3 times a year or more in 3 years we here of FLOTUS going on lavish vacations while talking about her hard times she had to go through, it is, for a lack of a better word, hypocrisy.
Either the left is living in a bubble in a world all to themselves, they ignorant statement have no meaning.

Paying your own way = bad. Having the ability to pay your own way at any time = almost as bad as a white racist.

Patty #7: Isn’t it interesting how the left feels entitled to other people’s property? My family hasn’t had a vacation since… 1999. Crap. Seriously. The dot-com implosion hurt us and we’ve struggled to move forward. The past eight years have been about paying off all of our debts (I know, strange given Obama’s advice is to take on extreme debt and then blow it off, screwing some other schmuck who was stupid enough to loan money to you!)
We just can’t afford a vacation. We have loans and our kids college savings to pay first. Apparently we’re doing something wrong, since Romney’s vacationing using his money and the Obamas are vacationing like history has never seen before, using OUR money.
Has our nation reached the point where it is foolish to be hard working, paying your debts, and living in extravagance only when you’ve earned it? Are Michelle and Barack right, that you should seize your neighbor’s retirement savings and blow it on hookers, blow and global five-star travel?
