Israel Channel 10 on Sunday showed the Israeli Air Force preparing for an attack on Iran. The report said the moment of truth is near.

The Times of Israel reported:

A major Israel TV station on Sunday night broadcast a detailed report on how Israel will go about attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities in the event that diplomacy and sanctions fail and Israel decides to carry out a military strike.

The report, screened on the main evening news of Channel 10, was remarkable both in terms of the access granted to the reporter, who said he had spent weeks with the pilots and other personnel he interviewed, and in the fact that his assessments on a strike were cleared by the military censor.

No order to strike is likely to be given before the P5+1 talks with Iran resume in May, the reporter, Alon Ben-David, said. “But the coming summer will not only be hot but tense.”

In the event that negotiations fail and the order is given for Israel to carry out an attack on Iranian nuclear facilities, “dozens if not more planes” will take part in the mission: attack and escort jets, tankers for mid-air refueling, electronic warfare planes and rescue helicopters, the report said.

Ben-David said the Israel Air Force “does not have the capacity to destroy the entire Iranian program.” There will be no replication of the decisive strikes on Iraq’s Osirak reactor in 1981 or on Syria in 2007, he said. “The result won’t be definitive.” But, a pilot quoted in the report said, the IAF will have to ensure that it emerges with the necessary result, with “a short and professional” assault.

  1. God speed and God bless. The moon-god worshippers, the media and the hard left are going to throw down the gauntlet.

  2. Don’t think for a moment that Barack won’t take this opportunity to abandon Israel and reshape American foreign policy once and for all. If you push a rabid anti-colonialist hater like Barack too far, expect him to retaliate. It’s not within his DNA to be forced to support the “Jewish imperialists.”

    Whether he’d go as far as to order the interception (and the consequence of dealing with those who refuse to be intercepted) of Israeli air power in its mission remains to be seen. Barack quite likely believes he’d be an instant hero to the Children of Said, the subjected Muslims of the Middle East, if he were to order Israeli strike fighters to be shot down. He probably even imagines that Iran would change its heart and be compelled to finally love Barack, if he were to order the impossible and destroy an Israeli mission.

  3. Seeking Nuclear Insight in Fog of the Ayatollah’s Utterances

    {….}
    Ayatollah Khamenei, who is not only the leader of Iran’s government but also the final authority on Islamic law, often uses religious language when he talks about the nuclear issue, which can jar Western analysts trying to gauge the meaning of such strong statements. With tensions over the nuclear program rising in February, he used that language to signal his opposition to nuclear weapons. “Iran is not seeking to have the atomic bomb, possession of which is pointless, dangerous and is a great sin from an intellectual and a religious point of view,” he said.

    Then last month Ayatollah Khamenei was reported to have said that “we do not possess a nuclear weapon, and we will not build one.” Ayatollah Khamenei has also issued a fatwa, an Islamic edict, against the acquisition of a nuclear bomb by Iran.

    But those comments are not only at odds with some of Iran’s behavior but also with what Ayatollah Khamenei has said in the past. For evidence, analysts can point to remarks Ayatollah Khamenei made last year that it was a mistake for Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi of Libya to give up his nuclear weapons program.

    Referring to Colonel Qaddafi, Ayatollah Khamenei said that “this gentleman wrapped up all his nuclear facilities, packed them on a ship and delivered them to the West and said, ‘Take them!’ ” {….}

    At an emergency meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency in 2005, Iran’s nuclear negotiator described how Ayatollah Khamenei had issued a fatwa declaring that “the production, stockpiling and use of nuclear weapons are all forbidden in Islam,” and noted that he had said that “Iran shall never acquire these weapons.”

    In the negotiations in Istanbul, American officials seem willing to use Ayatollah Khamenei’s most recent public statements as leverage, insisting publicly, at least, that they are taking him at his word. This month, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton called on Iran to back up its assertion that acquiring nuclear weapons would be a sin.

    Israel doesn’t take the Ayatollah at his word. They hate Israel and Iran cannot be trusted.

    If it is enviable that Israel strikes I pray they have the backing of this administration. We all are praying for Israel.

    ?? REALLY ??

  5. Major bluff. Isn’t going to happen. This isn’t Osirak.

  6. OT And then there is this!!!

    Thousands witness Holy Fire miracle in Jerusalem

    Awaiting the Holy Fire, the congregation chants Kyrie Eleison, or “Lord, have mercy.” When the patriarch comes out of the tomb, he offers prayers and distributed the flames to the congregation.

    Some pilgrims have claimed that flames received from the Holy Fire do not burn their hair, faces or clothes during the first 33 minutes of its appearance.

    On Sunday, the Latin Patriarch of the Roman Catholic Church in Jerusalem will lead Easter mass at Holy Sepulcher. Protestants will attend a morning service in the Garden Tomb outside Jerusalem’s walled Old City.

  7. I suspect something else is going on. Why would the IDF announce this? Maybe they want to beat the scurrilous traitors Comrades Hussein, Shrillary and Panetta to the punch, seeing as how they leaked secret Israeli documents.

    Carl in Jerusalem (israelmatzav.blogspot.com) opines (probably correctly) that the IDF wants to condition the public to a confrontation in the near future. That sounds more likely to me. Israeli civilians should prepare their shelters and protected rooms, stock up on food and supplies and be aware of the situation. I know how that goes from past experience. We brought more supplies in and cleaned out our shelter in 2006 as soon as the situation started to deteriorate with the Hezbonazis in the north.

  8. Hope this is true

    Obama, GOP set to launch rival Latino outreach campaigns this week

    {..}

    Republicans have their own jobs-focused pitch to Latinos, which they’re expected to roll out Monday morning in a press conference with Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee, and his Hispanic outreach director, Bettina Inclán.

    Inclán is a Florida-based consultant who has argued that a critical mass of Latinos can be persuaded to support the GOP if Republicans’ message combines respect for Latinos with economy-boosting policies.

    The GOP doesn’t need a majority of Latino votes to win the November elections, but a 40 percent share would deny Democrats the votes they need to offset expected losses among white voters in vital swing-states like North Carolina, Florida, Colorado and Virginia.

  10. Disinformation, useful when your once greatest ally is now a liability. God speed Israel.

    As for the “religious”leader in

    Iran, in thier religion lying is

    Accepted and encouraged.

    Powder is dry

  11. Can’t anyone keep a secret anymore?

  12. Godspeed and God Bless!

    Israeli jets have the best avionics in the world. That’s right! Their second best avionics are used by the USAF on its military jets. Israeli drones are first class and are of more configurations than anything the USA has. And yes, Israel has been helping the USA in Afganistan and Iraq by imparting their expertise to US armed forces.

    And because Amerca won’t let israel install its own avionics on F16′s Israel has developed advanced avionics that display on their pilot’s helmet visors. Smart jews!

  13. I can see no logical reason for the military to announce their plans on television. Doesn’t mean they didn’t . It could be a ruse to keep the true strike date hidden. It could be a red herring to see what Obama will do in response. It could be many things. I have faith that Netanyahu will do the right thing to protect his people. I have no similar faith in Obama. He has already said in one of his books that if the winds change he will side with the muslims. Anyone with an ounce of brain cells knows that he is both a muslim and a traitor. I think Israel is planting a story to see how he reacts.

  14. Let’s hope this is a Go.

    God’s speed, Israel. I stand with Her.

  15. You do what you have to do Israel. Just know that many, many Americans are with you and wish you Godspeed. We despise Obama and his treatment of you. He does NOT speak for a multitude of Americans who love you Israel. Fight with honor. You and your people deserve praise, not disdain. Obama will only give you grief. Never, but NEVER believe a word he says. He is a liar and a traitor to America. Do not rely on any promises from Obama OR Hillary Clinton. They are traitors.

  16. Oops. Never mind.
