Obama Administration: We’re Trying to Make It “As Hard As Possible” on Israel to Decide to Strike Iran

It’s as if Israel is our enemy…
The Obama Administration admitted today that they were trying to make it as hard as possible tor Israel to decide to strike Iran.
The Washington Post reported:

President Obama plans to caution Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu next week against attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities in the coming months, urging patience while international economic sanctions take full effect.

Obama’s meeting with Netanyahu on Monday begins a critical week in his effort to contain Iran’s nuclear ambitions and preserve the trust of the United States’ closest Middle East ally. Israeli leaders have made clear they think time is running out to stop Iran from achieving the ability to build a nuclear weapon.

But U.S. officials are not convinced, and many within the administration fear that a preemptive Israeli attack could set off a regional war. This disagreement between the United States and Israel will color the meeting between two leaders often at odds over how best to navigate the changing Middle East.

The White House talks are likely to focus on the effectiveness of sanctions and the dangers of an Israeli attack, administration officials say. Obama will seek to avoid discussing the details of how one might unfold out of concern that Israel might interpret such planning as a veiled endorsement of military action.

“We’re trying to make the decision to attack as hard as possible for Israel,” said an administration official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations.

. . . because fighting the neighborhood bully is always so much easier when your best friends hold your hands behind your back.

  • Campfollower

I want Israel to attack, and let the bombastic Iranians feel the pain of it. But first, bring our boys home so they aren’t stuck in the middle of an escalating situation. Although, all those Iranians getting a free ride outside the gates of Bagram Air Field might just go home if their country actually feels Israel’s wrath.

Obama is becoming smaller and smaller on the world stage. He’s marginalized his own administration with the world and along with it he’s done the same to our once great nation. What a loser cruiser he’s heading up. (Running over good people along the way).

  • Jeffery

So you think it makes good geopolitical sense for Israel to attack Iran because some Iranians had a banner on a bus 6 yrs ago?

There are Americans that want Iran wiped off the face of the world. Would Iran be justified in attacking the US?

If America does not throw off the tightening leash of Obama, its people will soon enough be numbered among the cursed.

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

The operative phrase, “and in thee [Israel] shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

As Netayahu meets with Obama there should be some accidental military explosion at an Iranian military complex……Obama IS the demonic incarnation of Belial…” Belial is also mentioned in the Fragments of a Zadokite Work (which is also known as The Damascus Document (CD)), which states that during the eschatological age, “Belial shall be let loose against Israel, as God spoke through Isaiah the prophet.”

Does he ever tell Iran not to attack Israel?

  • myohmy

Netanyahu should either wait or continue covert missions against Iran. If they strike today, Obama will hanged them to dry. Obama does not want to offend his progressive friends. He still need to collect the money from his fundraising.

  • Bamagon

The ultimate question is, will Obama order armed US warplanes to intercept Israeli Air Strikes on Iran?

  • Joanne

#5 – the State of Israel is not the ‘Israel’ God is referring to in the Bible. Israel is made up of 12 Tribes of which Judah is but one tribe.

It is easy for Obama to caution the State of Israel to not attack Iran when Iran’s missiles can easily reach them. Yes, it will probably set off a large war in the region and outside the region for that matter, but is Iran obtaining the nuke the best outcome for the world. Do sanctions ever work with the nutjobs. Iran is intent on getting nuclear capabilities, and there isn’t anything that is going to stop them except brute force.

Netanyahu is one gigantic disappointing king sized p*ssy.

Yes, the Iran situation probably can’t wait, but why the hell is Netanyahu still showing up in Washington as if he is dealing with just another US President? It’s outrageous judgement and conduct by Netanyahu, bordering on disgraceful.

He should have said, long ago (not publicly, but privately–and he HASN’T), that he’s seen enough out of Obama. He should have said he can’t deal with this President, that this President has a very clear (and darkly driven) agenda in the Middle East, and it is an agenda that does not support Isreali interests.

This anti-semite (and get real, it is so far past the time to call a spade a spade it’s not funny), anti-American is nothing but a temporary steward. One day, he’ll be gone. Hopefully in January, but 2016 at the latest. Netanyahu has every right (and obligation) to say Israel is going to sit out this presidency and wait for a successor before discussing ANY (other than Iran, which cannot wait) Middle East policies or changes that affect Isreal.

Just sit it out. That cess pool of constant war has be bubbling and boiling for two millenia. There’s no urgency or need for Netanyahu to be pushed around by this temporary Muslim (again, let’s cut the crap) sh*t stain smelling up the Oval Office.

Why Netanyahu feels the need to pretend it’s business as usual, and he’s just dealing with a typical President really is disgraceful.

#14 – donh – Unfortunately, this could very well be the truth. Obama is a traitor to America. He isn’t eligible to hold Office, and he took Office knowing this full well. Everything he has done has been to the detriment of the U.S. and all her allies. Obama has supported every terrorist regime in the Middle East, and he didn’t do anything to help the Iranian people in their short lived violent uprising when he first took Office. He could very well command the U.S. military to intervene if and when the State of Israel gives Iran a smack down. The U.S. has a muslim in office. The man stands up and exclaims he is a Christian on one side of his mouth and supports abortion and infanticide on the other side. Will the U.S. military stand down if given such orders or will they follow the orders?

  • Joanne

Bubba – maybe Netanyahu has his reasons. Perhaps he wants to personally gauge if Obama is going to militarily stop the State of Israel from stopping attacking Iran or put sanctions on the State of Israel or not supply them with armament if they attack or stop any monies or whatever. Sometimes you have to exhaust every avenue before leading the charge. I’m sure Netanyahu knows what kind of fire storm this will set off in the Middle East on the one hand and what not doing anything will mean on the other hand. I believe his greatest allies will be found in Europe, since they too will be the closest to the events that follow.

  • Adi

According to His own words, Obama is the best thing that ever happened to Israel.

As for Iran, for the past 20 years they didn’t change the rhetoric but now, thanks to the UN, they’ll have some nuclear missiles to reinforce their point.

  • Mahdi Al-Dajjal

The only way a Chicago Thug knows how to “entice” somebody to do (or not do) something is by bribery, or by intimidation. It’s all they know. That’s how they negotiate.

Even if Obama gave Netanyahu his word to pursue an alternative path in exchange for Israeli restraint at their own peril, Netanyahu would be a fool to take him at his word since Obama’s word has been proven to not be any good (just ask everybody he told that his birth certificate and draft service card were genuine documents).

My guess is that Obama will order the US Navy to intercept (and shoot down) any Israeli warplanes cauht flying towards Iran.

#14 may not be as off base as much as others think.

Obama IS that much of a traitor.

The question will come down to individual military personnel. Will they obey their oaths to the Constitution and not to the person.

Given the breadth of the political correctness infection even in the military, most esp. in the upper officer corps, I’m not so sure that the Constitution would prevail. The Führerprinzip doctrine is becoming more and more ingrained. As evidence I offer how Congress lies prostrate in the face of more and more executive power grabs.

An ineffective Congress, achieved most esp. Democrats with their blocking moves on stopping some Members’ efforts to check this executive, is the easiest way for a non-constitutionalist executive, which this one is, to saddle us with a growing dictate state.

Do not think that it could not happen here. It IS happening now.

  • Kate

One thing we know for sure….the welfare and best interests of Israel will never be a concern of the Obama administration.

  • karen

If anyone here thinks a war with Iran will be anything but devastating to America and Americans, think again.

This constant beating of the war drums has got to stop. Who will benefit from a war with Iran? Whose sons and daughters will die? Yours? Because death will be the end game for many, many HUMAN BEINGS. Is this what you want? Much of humanity is blind to their hypocrisy. The insane mentality that we must kill to have peace does not register. Will the total destruction of humanity be enough for those who think war is the answer to peace? Think about it. Set aside your egos and all that you think that you know for a moment and think about it.

And on the other hand, we have a government that has stated it will use nuclear weapons once it has them. How long will it be before Iran sells nuclear weapons to Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, or Libya?

Why would Iraq and Saudi Arabia not immediatly start their own nuclear weapon programs or buy them from Russia or China?

This is not a simple one dimensional discussion.

  • There was a question last week as to whether or not Israel should notify the U.S. when it was about to fly jets to Iran to strike the nuke plants. The question is whether or not Obama would tip off the Iranian’s that Israel was going to attack them. Would that happen, for real or perceived? I think that Blackberry that Obama refused to turn over to the FBI when he became President, because he knew damn well when the FBI saw who he was in contact with, it would be like the background search he also refused to have done on him when the numbers on the Blackberry were enemies of America.

Would Obama tip the Iranian’s off? Yes, I believe he would. Obama is a traitor, and a dangerous radical Marxist subversive who has nothing but ill planned for this nation. He works for factions inside and outside this nation that have nothing but hatred for our country. And Obama is one of the masterminds behind much of who and what is at work destroying our way of life, opposing the Keystone Pipeline from Canada, making it impossible for our nations people to create their own wealth, passage of the Affordable Health Care Act or ObamaCare which will control not only what we spend out money on for ourselves but how much money we decide to spend on our own health care, and how Obama is in cahoots with people who have fortunes to spend on making our form of governance as Communist as it can become, or George Soros behind everything from environmental rules and laws to support of the Occupy Wall Street criminal gangs, and people like Maurice Strong who is the one man who tells Obama that America cannot have access to it’s own natural resources because the use of them has caused so much pollution around the world and changing weather over developing countries wiping out food crops they need so desperately to stay alive, that he can actually control how much our gasoline should cost so that we have had to change our lifestyles in order to stay off that decision of food or gas but not both. No one has the right to have that kind of control over our lives, but Obama does.

Now, Obama thinks he can extend that control to another nation because he believes that they are a threat to Muslims? And George Soros is also behind controlling Israel to because George has oil investments in the Middle East he doesn’t want messed up. So he uses Obama to keep Israel under control since America has had alot of influence over Israel’s use of their military and when they can use it and when they can’t. They do not have the right to protect their own nation? Obama has the right to tell another nation when they can protect themselves and when they can’t because it’s Obama’s right to protect oil interests of his rich supporters?

  • From the article:

‘For Obama, the political stakes are high. With his approval ratings improving on the strength of a better economy, he still faces the intertwined election-year threats of rising gas prices and the possibility of a military confrontation involving an oil-rich Iran. The issue preoccupies the White House but does not resonate as urgently among Israelis.’

This is BS on a stick. Hussein bin Obama wants higher oil prices and what better way to get higher oil prices than a nuclearized Iran? Not to mention the distinct possibility that a nuclearized Iran will attack Israel and Saudi Arabia and other enemies..

‘With the Obama Doctrine, Obama’s entire foreign policy makes sense: It explains why Obama toppled Egypt, Saudi Arabia’s key Sunni ally. In a heartbeat, Obama rendered Egypt permanently paralyzed to assist the Saudis against Iran. As a result, Obama made the Saudis feel warm and fuzzy after the Mubarak betrayal by “selling” them 50 gazillion dollars of US weapons – that will be delivered a decade after Iran gets and uses its nukes, and successfully attacks Saudi Arabia’s Eastern/Persian Gulf oil fields that hold 95% of Saudi’s oil.

In accordance with this doctrine, Obama obliterated the Sunni Qaddafi with hundreds of million dollar Tomahawk missiles, deleting the precious cache of Tomahawks (for possible use against Iran) where there was a truly heavily armed Libyan opposition who could fight for themselves and instead left an absolute Islamist maelstrom wrapped in chaos enveloped in bedlam and mayhem. As a result, Obama has mutely watched well over ten thousand Syrian Sunnis be massacred by Iran’s Shi’ite handmaiden, Assad, and hasn’t even shipped in one 5 kilometer range anti-tank weapon that would easily spay Assad’s rampaging tanks and artillery.

And as a final policy puzzle piece, Obama’s noisy objection to an Israeli attack on Iran is, in reality, a deafeningly silent total rejection of Saudi Arabia’s push for America to militarily attack Iran. The Saudis know Iran is infinitely more of a threat to Saudi Arabia than to Israel.

Obama has publically amped up the five-alarm fire-fight with Israel to make the Iran issue appear to be an “Israel only” issue, thereby preemptively embarrassing the Saudis out of even asking for the US to strike. For as long as Obama and his minions are vituperatively publicly attacking Israel about an Israeli attack and even threatening to do a “reverse-Liberty” and shoot down attacking Israeli planes, the Saudis know they have no hope of even broaching the “Attack Iran” issue with Obama.

What all this means is Obama has quietly turned 50 years of US Foreign policy on its head without even a single congressional hearing. If Obama isn’t sending Band-Aids to Homs, he sure ain’t sending Bunker-busters to Fordo.

The Egyptian “Pillar” of US strategic interests is now yesterday’s dust. The vaunted Saudi “Pillar” of US Middle East policy since World War I is now a prime US target for destruction. Israel is live bait. Obama’s true foreign policy objective seems to be nothing less than the full nuclear weaponization of Iran. Anything else is a smoke-screen for Obama to look like he’s doing something, but in reality he is doing nothing to stop Iran’s acquisition of nuclear weapons.

In conclusion, Obama is actively “democratically” toppling all U.S. Middle East allies, and soon a nuclear-armed Iran will control 70% of the World’s Oil Reserves, charging $500 a barrel for oil.’

In return for US aid and support for the House of Saud, King Ibn Saud granted Aramco a monopoly over the production of Saudi oil at the end of World War II. Aramco is a consortium of companies, with Exxon, Mobil, and Socal – all Rockefeller-connected – granted 70 percent ownership, and Texaco granted the rest. A premier example of crony capitalism, the Rockefeller-Saudi alliance translated into multi-millions in subsidies through the Export-Import Bank, so that the King could build his own personal railroad from his capital to the summer palace. Franklin Roosevelt took money out of the war budget to prepare the way for Rockefeller’s pipelines. In return, the Saudis granted the US an airbase at Dharan, conveniently near the oil fields. Smalltime capitalists hire private security guards to protect their property, but the big boys – or, at least, some of them – have the use of the American military.]

Saudi Fire News Oil-Price Swing Shows Supply Vulnerable as Sanctions Loom

    [No Sabotage

Saudi Arabia experienced no sabotage at its oil facilities in the Qatif area, Major General Mansour Al-Turki, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry, said late yesterday by phone.

A fire occurred in an industrial area in the town of Safwa in the Shiite-dominated Qatif area near Ras Tanura, a person with knowledge of the situation said late yesterday. The blaze didn’t damage the refinery or any pipeline in the area, said two people with knowledge of the situation who declined to be identified.

Prices rallied yesterday on the basis of internet reports and after Iran’s Press TV reported that an explosion destroyed oil pipelines in eastern Saudi Arabia. Today, the same news agency reported mass participation in Iranian parliamentary elections. Saudi Arabia and Iran are the two biggest producers in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and regional political rivals.

Sri Lanka, dependent on Iran for more than 90 percent of its oil
requirements, was today the latest country to say it will turn to
    other suppliers amid escalating sanctions.

“After the imposition of sanctions by the U.S. and EU on Iran, we are exploring the possibility of increasing imports from Aramco,” Oil Minister Susil Premajayantha said in a telephone interview from Colombo, referring to Saudi Arabia’s state-run oil company. “We have already written to them.”]

I have a hard time knowing when a reactionary is joking. Do you really think that President Obama is a Muslim?

Would you really applaud a foreign leader spitting in the face of the American President?

  • Related.

re Do you really think that President Obama is a Muslim?

Would you really applaud a foreign leader spitting in the face of the American President

Yes. The son of a Muslim male is a Muslim. Yes. ‘Spit’ is figurative, not that you would know. And a) Hussein is not the president inasmuch as he is not eligible and b) Hussein is spitting in the face of an ally by making it as hard as possible to attack its enemy Iran.

  • ‘One day before the AIPAC conference kicks off in Washington, an anti-Obama pro-Israel group is widening its criticism of President Barack Obama’s record on Israel — while the White House defends its treatment of the relationship.

The trailer for a new 30-minute video, entitled “Daylight: The Story of Obama and Israel,” cuts together clips of Obama quotes and outside commentary to put forth the narrative that Obama has made statements and taken actions as president that have put him out of step with the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his supporters.’

I don’t think Barack-Hussein is a Muslim and the WH medical transcript of His alcohol intake is rather proving.

I would also not applaud foreign leaders such as Vladimir Putin who, during the Wohn’s visit in Russia, didn’t even bother directly addressing to BHO.

So no, the Presidential Institution of the USA is strong, but let’s not confuse the personality cult over a pantywaist weasel with the Presidency.

Barack-Hussein is weak and not respected, but that doesn’t mean the Country or the Presidency are weak. (unless, of course, you fall into the personality cult ideology and say “L’État c’est moi”).

So if Barack Hussein Obama is weak and not respected, it doesn’t mean USA is weak and not respected; it also doesn’t mean that the proles should stop criticizing Him just because He is the President.

He is not a dictator, He is an elected payed public official – therefore prone to scrutiny.

Obviously you comatose no-brainier zombified o-bots have a problem with this approach, and portray every attack on The Wohn as an attack on the Presidency.

It doesn’t work. It doesn’t fly. And for the rare moments it flies-it immediately hits the fan.

Your “logic/argument” fails. On so many/multiple levels.

Here’s how to interpret it. Israel is going to attack Iran. We, Obama, doesn’t want to piss off his lefty fringe antiwar nuts (major part of his voting base, so he is publicly going the plausible denial route.

More constructively, we also have troops easily targeted in Afghanistan and so the administration wants plausible deniability here too.
