Gaza Terrorists Fire 135 Rockets at Israel – Iron Dome Intercepts 37 Grad Rockets (Video)

Since Friday Gaza terrorists have fired off 135 rockets at Israel. The Iron Dome anti-missile system intercepted 37 Grad missiles fired at Israeli population centers.

Here is video of the Iron Dome system intercepting a Gaza missile on March 11, 2012, near Ashqelon.

The IDF website reported:

Since last Friday (March 9) 22 Israeli civilians were injured as a result of rockets fired from the Gaza Strip: one severely, two intermediately, seven lightly injured and 12 suffering from panic, several in the Eshkol Regional Council. Since the beginning of the escalation, over 135 rockets have been fired by Gaza Strip terrorists at Israel, targeting Israeli communities including the cities of Be’er Sheva, Ashdod and Ashkelon, adding up to 520,000 people.

93 of these rockets hit Israeli territory, injuring four civilians and causing damage to a house in the city of Ashdod, home to 200,000 civilians.

The Iron Dome anti-missile defense system has successfully intercepted 37 Grad rockets, of the 46 attempts to intercept rockets directed at densely populated regions. The system’s 90% success rate has been praised by Defense Minister, Ehud Barak as well as by IAF commander.
