Bill Maher: Calling Sarah a Dumb C-nt Is Comedy!
Bill Maher doubled-down on his “c-nt” and “tw-t” attacks against conservative women today.
“Edgy is my brand.”
(Warning on language)

ABC reported:

JAKE TAPPER: Bill, thanks for doing this. I just wanted to make sure that as I cover this debate about appropriate language and such, I’m not excluding any points you think should be made.

BILL MAHER: I don’t really know all the “points,” but as I said on my show last Friday, I’m a pottymouth, not a misogynist.

TAPPER: So with all the criticism of Rush Limbaugh for his comments about the Georgetown Law student, conservatives claim that there’s a double standard, with President Obama, Democrats and the media far more tolerant of offensive language when wielded by liberal or progressive media figures against conservative women. Is that a fair comparison? You have certainly used offensive words to describe some politicians you don’t like.

MAHER: I’m a comedian – not just a guy who says he is, like Rush, but someone who – well, you saw me do stand-up last year in D.C. There’s a big difference between just saying you’re a comedian and going out and getting thousands of people to laugh hard for 90 minutes. And the one I’m compared to most is Carlin, who also had these kind of problems. Edgy is my brand…

TAPPER: How do you know when you’ve gone too far?

MAHER: I let the audience be the guide. The bit I did about Palin using the word c-, one of the biggest laughs in my act, I did it all over the country, not one person ever registered disapproval, and believe me, audiences are not afraid to let you know. Because it was a routine where that word came in at just the right moment.

  1. If by “best” he means the most intellectual, rational and well-grounded part, then he’s probably correct.

    Just another malignant narcissist — a self-made man in love with his creator.

  2. Maher and his followers are mindless immoral twits themselves.

  3. And let’s take a GP poll to see how many here actually stand behind their convictions and have cancelled their HBO service. I cancelled mine when they hired Maher.

    By cancelling you get a double whammy: HBO loses money and your cable provider loses money. When they lose enough money, they will cancel Maher’s gig with HBO.

  4. Go ahead & double down on stupid.

  5. Just goes to show that BM’s audience is as nasty and hateful as he is.

  6. and the best part of my routine is calling Maher a di*khead – but I don’t get laughs – I get cheers of approval

  7. MAHER: Edgy is my brand…

    :::::::::::::::::::::::::::

    I did LAUGH OUT LOUD at that.

  8. Just say no to Bill Maher.

    What is this TV thing people are talking about?

    heh.

    Nope. Don’t even watch it. No cable. No antenna. Going on 10+ years now.

    I own one, and it is my computer monitor.

    Why would I support the people who hate me, by using their product, by allowing their constant hateful drumbeat into my ears? That would be, IMO, unbelievably stupid.

    Sad, but most so-called conservatives today are unbelievably stupid. That idiot-box is still the Altar, the focal point, of their living room. And their bedrooms. And their kids’ bedrooms. That is just sad.

  10. Typical of Maher, Stewart, and their ilk, to make offensive political remarks and then attempt to to play the the comedian “get-out-of-jail-free” card. Rush could make that argument too – and yet they insist it’s different. Hypocrits!!!

    First his audience. They are liberals or democrats. They laughed because the are liberals or democrats.

    No registered disapproval? So, what is he reading, if he doesn’t see a disapproval it’s okay to call Sarah the C-word?

    That word came in a just the right spot? There is no right time to call women, any woman that word.

    Shows his ignorance and he says he is not a misogynist? Really? he really believes this?

    Look at this picture it looks like Obama is wearing a dunce hat.

  12. ++

    ooh, you’re in trouble GP..

    you posted this “C”an’t live without, sewer brained, potty mouthed,
    who really gives a damn about Maher crap before 11pm.. /sarcotic/

    ==

  13. So, as long as his audience sticks with him and he collects the big bucks and is able to make so much money he donates to Obama, yes, he will continue to call women hateful names.

    But he sees NO PROBLEMS.

  14. Real -man doesn’t need to call women vulger names ,Myers is not man he’s a real pussy, who needs his big mouth ajected to fit his big nose…….

  15. Chris Rock apparently doesn’t care whether he’s invited to President Obama’s next birthday party. The comedian used Obama’s 50th birthday bash as material for a surprise stand-up appearance at the Comedy Store club in Los Angeles this weekend.

    Saying he felt like “he died and went black heaven,” Rock shared a few details about the August birthday party, which was closed to the media. The informal barbecue at the White House was paid for by the Obamas, according to the Washington Post, and featured a celebrity-heavy guest list including Jay-Z, Tom Hanks and Whoopi Goldberg.

    (Saying he felt like “he died and went black heaven,” Rock)

    Obama is getting his kicks it seems. He could care less what the Conservatives or Republicans say. Remember the guests they have invited. Typical Mo and Obama.

  16. The culture of rude has taken over our young adults. It’s hip to be insulting and shocking. Used to be there was only Don Rickles and he was a novelty but with a sort of teddy bear apology and “luv ya” at the end. The rudeness has been so assimilated that you don’t need to be a “comedian” to feel comfortable spouting filth in the most mundane and/or inappropriate situations. Thank you Bill Maher, for lowering the bar into the sewer. I’m saddened for our young adults that they are so taken in by this and don’t have the personal integrity to reject it. I was, however, amazed to see Kirsten Powers (loyal liberal of the Daily Beast and FNC token) say that she did not find this kind of talk funny and firmly condemned it in her column.

    OT — Jim, can’t you do something to get that nauseating picture/ad of Alan Grayson’s off your site. Does Google (or whoever does the advertising) actually believe that it is effective promotion to have conservatives look at his ugly mug? I thought they were all about “targeted” advertising. Are we supposed to see that and suddenly “see the light”??

  17. While it is clear the Obama’s do not see eye to eye with President Bush, it’s completely inappropriate to invite a guest that has suggested the killing of a former President, no matter their political party. Plus a song that praises cop-killers isn’t something kids need to be listening too.

    Michelle Obama had a wide selection of poets to invite to the White House. Her selection of “Common,” is unjust and quite frankly inappropriate. Mrs. Obama, instead of inviting guests that incite the death of innocent people, why don’t you invite poets that convey a patriotic America, a pro-America?

    We are aware of the pattern that always rears its head. There is a common ground with liberals and the White House. What fits into their live is good. They condemn others but they are not within the Elitist playground. This sets a poor presence on the feeling of divisive and bias attitudes in Washington. If President Bush and Laura did 1/10th of what Obama is doing Calls for him to be impeached would be heard throughout the land.

  18. I read Maher’s softball interview this morning and had to brush my teeth soon there after. A little throw up in the mouth, yah know?

    These libtards are digging such a hole for themselves that even 1/2 blinded Independents can’t keep up with the back spinning and ridiculous blame shifting. I’m even aware that a couple lib neighbors have given up making excuses for them. It’s a facepalm moment anymore…

    Calling a woman a c–t get’s people in my neighborhood punched in the face… What’s so funny about that?

    And what Louis CK said about Palin and her baby made me never want to watch his show again. And his show was pretty good I’ll admit…
