Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin discussed why she hasn’t endorsed a candidate yesterday on FOX Business Network. Sarah said Newt Gingrich was the toughest fighter in the race.
“You know that is what I’m saying today. I’m saying that David because Newt has learned through that school of hard knocks. And you know that is where character is shaped and that is where character is revealed. In times of controversy and conflict. Not at a time of convenience and comfort. I see that in Newt that he has learned, that he has been sharpened and strengthened through all of that and I think that would bode well for what it is that we need in terms of fighting that Obama machine that we’ll be up against.”

Newt cannot win a general election. He may not even win Georgia. He’s peevish, thin skinned and nasty. That’s not toughness, it’s political weakness. Palin’s credibility is sinking fast.

This video is old, before Palin’s appearance at CPAC. Sarah hasn’t pushed Newt since & is likely to offer her own service to country if this ends in a brokered convention. Only Palin can draw the crowds to come out & vote…the House & Senate candidates will also ride in on her coattails if she is on the top of the ticket as President.

I have not trusted Sarah since she stumped here in AZ for RINO McCain! The supposed maverivk!

HEY, Jim Hoft, this is old video! Just because Fox added it today, does NOT mean it is from yesterday. Here’s a clue to the REAL date of the video, Palin mention, “46 more States ” that tells me that it’s JUST AFTER Florida, but before Nevada.
bigmike commented:
Hey BS61, I suspect that Palin was to some extent signaling to the GOP establishment when she SAVED both Saxby Chambliss’s and John McCain’s asses in their bids, that she could be depended on. It appears to me that she has learnt since that The Good Old Party is only interested in their own agenda. And McCain has again demonstrated that his ONLY concern is for McCain. I suspect that Palin will endorse in AZ people like Ruth McClurg, and even stump for them.
bigmike commented:
Oops, Ruth McClung. I also see mention of her bio being sketchy, having been around myself for some 60 years, I know that it is NOT unusual for people who hold clearances to not broadcast their whole history.
Amjean commented:
Old video or not, Palin is spot on.
Does anyone realize that Santorum has not been vetted yet? He has very little political creds.
Is mostly a social conservative, even a little bit on the radical side. He lied about his
residency in order to get indistrict tuition.
Perhaps Romney is not going after him as hard as he went after Newt (with lies and distortions)
because it is Newt that Romney is really afraid of.
Steve commented:
Have you seen ”Nine Days That Changed The World”, Newt’s (!) DVD about how Pope JP2 and the Poles defeated the Sovjet Communists? It’s Polish version (”9 dni, które zmieniły świat”) had over 900.000 hits on Google last year. (Not quite so much now.)
- I don’t know of any other serious attempt to explain why the Communists lost. After the beginning (Warsaw 1979!), it treats Wojtyla’s earlier years; if you cannot stand this, jump to chapter 5, from his visit to Poland in June 1979. Helicopter pictures of more than 2 million people, his last day in Krakow.
- Then Walesa and other Solidarity leaders get much space. Walesa says that world leaders then – Reagan, Thatcher, Kohl, Mitterand, JP2 – understood each others ”without words”.
- The DVD costs $19:90 from Adoremusbooks.com in Omaha. (Region code 0; you can see this without problems in Europe too.)

Santorum does not have the credentials to be president. Lawyer, Congressman and Senator.
Even Romney, who I do not support, at least was a governor with extensive business experience.
Gingrich is the only one who will protect this nation from Islam, liberal judges and the overreach of the Federal government.
If you visit wwwNewt.org and read the “21st Century Contract with America” or watch the video you’ll see why I support him.
Palin needs to follow her husbands lead on this one. Todd endorsed Gingrich and so should she while it will do some good.

The centrists who will swing this election will not vote for Santorum because of his hard core abortion views, as well as their additional paranoia of the religious right. Not saying it’s rational or that they’re balanced, but that’s the way it is. Personally, I think early abortion, when the pregnancy is due to rape, should be the victim’s choice; but all that said, I was (again) impressed by Newt’s recent interview, featured on PowerLine. I still like the way he talks, and IMHO his so-called “baggage” has been vastly exaggerated; this interview is impressive: http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2012/02/uncommon-knowledge-with-newt-gingrich.php

The sad reality of the situation for many of us is that both parties suck! It’s hard to discern what they even represent anymore! So we are just to continue to vote for “the lesser of two evils”!!! Not me. I’ve come to really dislike Obama but none of these Republican candidates will beat him in a general election. I want at least one opportunity in nmy lifetime to vote for “the greater of two goods”!! Once Obama’s gravy train rolls and the “viral lying” campaign starts in earnest, the Republicans won’t have a chance. Having said that, Newt is the only one of the current crop that could go toe-to-toe with Obama in debates. Still think we need a strong, viable third party and strong non-political, social leadership…..starting from the ground up…these natiopnal political figures that we elect are cartoon characters….Obama included.
e pearse commented:
We are still amazed at the credulity of FOX News viewers and practically everybody else that is following this primary campaign – with some notable exceptions like Karl Rove, The Hill, and PJMedia, which published some eye-openings about what Sarah Palin is about.
We, at America’s Chronicle, give it one name, “Gingrich’s surrogate campaign manager”. In “Sarah Palin: When Success Can Be A Failure”, we analyze her actions that speak louder than her official declarations, and bemoan her utter waste of a position that could have been more honest and more constructive.
One last line says it all, “The problem with Sarah Palin is not that we don’t agree with most of what she says, but that she says so little.”
But you can judge by yourselves at HERE

#18 Pamlinson, re Palin’s style of speaking…
You can diagram her sentences and they are correctly formed. They’re a little long, yeah, but she can tie it in a bow.
O’bama? Aaaaaaaand, uhhhh, (insert lie here), aaaand, (insert another lie here), thaaaaaat, uuhhhh, (insert another lie here) aaaaaaaand… All that stalling and circumlocution until the listeners eyes glaze over, covers for the fact that the man is trying to remember all the other whoppers he’s told. He’s trying to make the contradictions that he is about to speak less obvious, (sort of like putting gravy all over your watery mashed potatoes, the burnt roast, and the under-cooked peas to make it edible). Its purpose is to numb you to the near constant stream of BS that flows from his mouth. He doesn’t want you to awaken to his lies.
Palin is also the master of the ability to distill the entire 2000+ page health care bill into two words: Death Panels. So, hang with her for the guided tours, and you’ll be around for the one-two punch to the nose.

#27 Indeed ther article cited says it all. She has become tiring and wearysome to listen to. Why can’t we get candidates that speak from the heart instead of platitudes. I am becoming increasingly concerned that the candidates we have are either dull of vision or unelectable.
Sparky commented:
Palin is right. Newt is the only candidate with the experience, knowledge and determination to beat Obama and dismantle the Obama administration.
Santorum and Romney have little depth and political experience. Both will have huge learning curves in Washington when immediate action is mandatory. Neither exudes charisma nor trustworthiness. Both are excellent at spewing political rhetoric and platitudes. Neither has a solid, Conservative track record.
Newt has turned around the government bureaucracy once before. He has a proven track record. He can hit the ground running and does not require a huge learning curve. Newt is dogged and determined and he will force the Republican elite in line. Newt has legislative experience and knows where the rot can be, and is hidden.
Newt is not the Father of ObamaCare!
Newt is the man with the best skills at this most critical time. Why Americans do not want someone with the best skills, attributes and character is mind-boggling.
I ask myself which of these men I want between me and peril….and Newt wins hands down every time.

Jim W commented:
Newt does not have the appeal to the independents that are needed to win an election. To think otherwise is to have your head in the sand. I cannot think of how many people who at the mere mention of his name just groan–more than half are women. And these are independent leaning conservative types. You can write them off, but then write off the election.

Democrats forget when Palin was the Darling of the Democrats, because as soon as Palin took the Governor’s office away from a fellow Republican and tough SOB, Frank Murkowski, she tore into the Republican’s “Corrupt Bastards Club” (CBC) and sent them packing. Many of them are now residing in State housing and wearing orange jump suits. The Democrats reacted by skipping around the yard, throwing confetti and singing, “la la la la” (well, you know how they are). Name another governor in this country who has ever done anything similar.
2- Now with the CBC gone, there were fewer Alaskan politicians to protect the huge, giant oil companies here. So she constructed and enacted a new system of splitting the oil profits called “ACES.” Exxon (the biggest corporation in the world) protested so Sarah told them, “Don’t let the door hit you in the stern on your way out.” They stayed, and Alaska residents went from being merely wealthy to being filthy rich. Of course, the other huge international oil companies meekly fell in line. Again, give me the name of any other governor in the country who has done anything similar.
Another thing she did when she walked into the governor’s office get the list of State requests for federal funding for projects, known as “pork.” She went through the list, took 85% of them and placed them in the “when-hell-freezes-over” stack. She let locals know that if we need something built, we’ll pay for it ourselves. Maybe she figured she could use the money she got from selling the previous governor’s jet because it was extravagant. Maybe she could use the money she saved by dismissing the governor’s cook (remarking that she could cook for her own family), giving back the State vehicle issued to her, maintaining that she already had a car, and dismissing her State provided security force (never mentioning – I imagine – that she’s packing heat herself). I’m still waiting to hear the names of those other governors.

This partial Article could be some of things Palin is speaking of:
Gingrich: I don’t think right-wing social engineering is any more desirable than left-wing social engineering. I don’t think imposing radical change from the right or the left is a very good way for a free society to operate. I think we need a national conversation to get to a better Medicare system with more choices for seniors. I think that that is too big a jump. I think what you want to have is a system where people voluntarily migrate to better outcomes, better solutions, better options, not one where you suddenly impose upon the–I don’t want to–I’m against Obamacare, which is imposing radical change, and I would be against a conservative imposing radical change.
Notice that Gingrich was now making a generalization of his own. It was about how to change government in a positive manner. Gingrich is recommending a more gradual change so that the American people would be persuaded to approve of such a plan. So was Gingrich right? Of course he was. The plan didn’t pass. The duly elected representatives of the people in the U.S. Senate voted no.
On September 29, 2011, Gingrich introduced his own Medicare plan as part of his 21st Century Contract With America. It includes a Medicare premium support plan which allows for immediate but voluntary participation. It is a more user-friendly proposal and one that is more likely to pass Congress. It doesn’t change the whole system right away, but it lets seniors choose between the old and new systems. Seniors are more likely to approve this plan, and so are their representatives.
In a surprise development on December 15, 2011, Ryan teamed up with Democrat Senator Ron Wyden to produce a bipartisan budget plan. This new plan includes a Medicare premium support plan with an immediate voluntary option as well as the option to stay in the old system. So Paul Ryan has now come to agree with Newt Gingrich about how Medicare reform should be implemented. No one should be surprised. Gingrich helped reform welfare during a Democrat presidency. He knows how to reform the whole entitlement leviathan.

Michael Steele Defends Newt Gingrich On Ryan
Plan, Suggests GOP Critics Are Being Hypocritical
[Indeed, before Ryan’s plan was the GOP budget, when it was his “Roadmap,” only 13 House [Republicans signed on. House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), House Majority Leader Cantor (R-VA) “and others [in the GOP caucus] are not showing much eagerness to take up the roadmap’s specifics,” the National Review reported in January. Cantor, “like the others, is not championing the roadmap as the House GOP budget strategy.” Of course, the roadmap became the basis of the GOP budget strategy. This morning, Cantor said in a radio interview that Gingrich’s criticism of the Ryan Plan is wrong and that he is guilty of “tremendous misspeak.” Potential presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty also “explicitly declined to support” Roadmap.]

Those are the ones who don’t research and don’t care about his shady past. Heck, what past when most of it is sealed or covered up.
So, we continue to see a bashing from every corner on WHO? Gingrich, Santorum and Romney. And speaking of Romney his has the money and backing apparently from the RNC.
Those of us who are Conservative and are trying to find a candidate who is more Conservative seem to have 2 choices. Gingrich or Santorum. If we want change and the opposite of Obama, these two men are our choices and this business of holding your nose when you are in the voting booth.
Now, that is repulsive to me. You see what is happening with Obama, list of his failures, mandate, regulations are clear. So, I have been holding my nose since Obama has been president. Dear Comrade287,
I have a great deal of respect for Dr. Seuss. But The Lorax is the worst of all Dr. Seuss’ books. It’s political propaganda, that’s all.
As Mark Twain said, “Humor must not professedly teach, and it must not professedly preach, but it must do both if it would live forever.”
Seuss’ special kind of nonsense works best with the light touch, as in Horton Hears a Who. Your nonsense, comrade, on the other hand is incomprehensible.
Horton and the Grinch will live forever, while The Lorax will just be a curiosity piece of significance only to its age, just like an Awful, Terrible Medieval Romance.
As to honeybees disappearing, I have an unusual interest. My lab science at the University of Maryland was in beekeeping. I kept a hive, so I’m a little better informed on the issue than many others are.
