Rick Santorum told supporters on Saturday that Barack Obama’s agenda is not based on the Bible.
Oh, come on Rick… We all know Obama went to church.

Reuters reported:

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum challenged President Barack Obama’s Christian beliefs on Saturday, saying White House policies were motivated by a “different theology.”

A devout Roman Catholic who has risen to the top of Republican polls in recent days, Santorum said the Obama administration had failed to prevent gas prices rising and was using “political science” in the debate about climate change.

Obama’s agenda is “not about you. It’s not about your quality of life. It’s not about your jobs. It’s about some phony ideal. Some phony theology. Oh, not a theology based on the Bible. A different theology,” Santorum told supporters of the conservative Tea Party movement at a Columbus hotel.

It’s hard to tell if this will hurt Rick or help him.
However, it does keep the focus off of Obama’s disastrous economic record.

More… Still others say Obama has been attacking Christianity since 2008.

  1. Jim, all this stuff is really getting on my last nerve. We have the most predictable economic collapse in history rocketing our way and all we can talk about is the Catholic Church, religion, and contraception. We need to calmly inform everyone that the Church objects to the abortion aspect of the case, forget the contraception angle, and get back on point. Which is the economy and the debt. The Republicans need to be pounding Obama daily on the debt, deficit spending, the budget, Obama’s friends green payoffs, crony socialism, fair taxes, voter fraud by Democrats, gun control, and a host of other issues not related to religion.

  2. However, it will keep the focus off of Barack Obama’s disastrous economic record.

Then it’s not the smart thing to do.

It’s probably a good thing that his religion is important to him, but there are bigger fish to fry, like getting the country back on track to prosperity, getting people back to work, and getting the government out of our lives as much as possible, and religion is unlikely to be a big factor in doing any of these things. He needs to stop bringing this subject up unless he intends to allow it to decide how he’d run the show, in which case he’s going to drive off potential supporters that don’t agree with that approach.

  3. No kidding. It is about time someone said it.

  4. Yup, you got it, J.

We can laugh and mock Barry and his election machine all we want, but you better godd****** understand this–the team Barry understand in a way the GOP can’t seem to even comprehend, much less match, how to play the election game.

This idiotic “white noise” of contraception talk isn’t just something that popped up. It’s a central tactic of team Barry.

No one–NO..FREAKING…ONE!!!–outside of the Right of Right right cares about this. Team Barry knows he’s lost that demo already, so who cares about pushing their buttons? But people who don’t see the big deal (and yeah, don’t kid yourself–that includes a BIG chunk of the “christians” and even “catholics”) in this regard it as damn annoying, all this stupid focus and obsession with it when there are so much more pressing and bigger issues. It’s a piss off hearing about it all the time. Beyond the fact that that it takes the focus off the number one and two issues–the economy, and Barrycare. And, it’s a turn off. People will tune out.

And, THAT’S why team Barry came up with it. True to form (team Barry reads them like a “see dick run” book), the GOP has taken the bait.

I don’t doubt that some of the delusional incubated readers of this blog will miss this point, but whatever–it doesn’t make it any less true.

It reminds me of the scene in Star Wars…”Everything is progressing as I have seen it.”

Enough is enough with the idiotic Right which is seemingly hell bent on handing the election to Barry—give it a rest already, and GET BACK TO WHAT REALLY MATTERS. FREAKS!!!!

  5. Remember you all,
    God d#$M America,
    is in the Bible

  6. Otherwise known as tyranny.

  7. Ooops, the line by the emperor is actually…”everything is progressing as I have foreseen it.”

  8. Enough is enough with the idiotic Right which is seemingly hell bent on handing the election to Barry—give it a rest already, and GET BACK TO WHAT REALLY MATTERS. FREAKS!!!!

Since I believe I am probably a member of the “idiotic Right,” allow me to retort:

    FVCK YOU!

  9. I disagree.

    Spot-on. Script-perfect.

    Oscar-worthy.

Like he’s read the whole Bible, memorized it, and has chosen to play the role of antichrist.

Yup, his beliefs are uncannily in line with those of certain characters in the Bible.

  10. I’ve seen Obama reading!

No wait, that was a book titled “Post-American World”.

Hold on. I saw Obama teaching students about another book.

Oh no. that was “Rules for Radicals” by Saul Alinsky. Dedicated to Lucifer, wasn’t it? Obama bats for the other team.

  11. Santorum can spend 10 hours/day speaking economics & national defense and mention a religious topic for 1 minute and 99% of the coverage the next day will be on religion. That distortion is bad enough coming from the left wing press, we don’t need the gullible serving as an amplifier.

  12. #10 Opus#6

Obama bats for the other team.

…in more ways than one. IYKWIM,AITTYD.

    :D

  13. What DaMav @#11 said.

    Best regards, Peter Warner.

  14. It is if you believe Karl Marx wrote it.

  15. …mention a religious topic for 1 minute and 99% of the coverage the next day will be on religion. That distortion is bad enough coming from the left wing press, we don’t need the gullible serving as an amplifier.

That’s why Santorum needs to get this through his head and lay off all the religion talk.

  16. This is just more evidence that Santorum is tone deaf and clueless about what it will take to beat Obama and what the American people really care about. What a maroon!

  17. Since when should theology and religious beliefs dictate public policy decisions?

Obama understands the distinction between his Christian values and his role as POTUS, something that the self-righteous, theocracy-minded Santorum will never comprehend.

  18. The problem with Santorum is that he is a true believer. He thinks he’s doing God’s will. People who think like that should be off clothing the naked and feeding the poor. They are dangerous in politics.

    ++++

Since when should marxist and islamic beliefs dictate Catholic practice ?

  20. GoodWench for the win! GOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLL!!!

Someone is obviously not clear on the concept of “beliefs”.

They inform everything we do. No matter where we are.

Maybe we should just make it illegal for Christians to work in any government capacity.

(Muslims, though? Not a problem. Marxists? A-okay. Theocratic Atheists? Cool!)

Because of course, none of THEIR “beliefs” influence their decision-making.

Christ in a gyro, hold the taiziki.
