Muslims Screaming “Allahu Akbar” Attack Swedish Artist Lars Vilks During Lecture on Free Expression (Video)

Muslims have targeted Swedish artist Lars Vilks since he published a cartoon depicting Mohammad’s face on the body of a dog.
Vilks has received death threats since he drew this image of the prophet Mohammad with a dog’s body back in 2007.
Fanatical Muslims screaming “Allahu Akbar” attacked Swedish artist Lars Vilks during a lecture on free expression at Karlstad University.

Swedish artist Lars Vilks is no stranger to controversy. In the past, he has angered Muslims by creating drawings and art that are highly critical of the Prophet Muhammad. On Tuesday, Vilks, 65, was speaking at Karlstad University in central Sweden when protesters (purportedly Muslims) began attacking the artist with eggs. Ironically, he was invited to the university to speak about free expression (he also presented yet another drawing of Muhammad).
According to Vilk’s account, around a dozen people started yelling at him and throwing eggs while he was addressing the audience. Of course, this isn‘t the first time he’s been targeted and it likely won’t be the last — something the well-known figure has accepted.
The radicals screamed, hurled eggs and shut down the speech.
It was not the first time Vilks was attacked by radical Islamists. Muslim radicals torched the home of the Swedish artist Lars Vilks in May 2010. Windows were smashed, there was minor fire damage to the front of the house and plastic bottles filled with petrol were found inside the property. Earlier that month Vilks was headbutted and tackled during a college lecture on free speech. Muslims are angry that Vilks drew the head of Mohammad on body of a dog.

The Swedes ought to send back to his country of origin any Muslim who uses his intolerant religion as a basis to threaten or attack another person.

Just because he drew a picture of some muzzie with a turban on his head does not mean he was depicting mohammed. After all, muzzies have themselves said no one know what mohammed looks like because they are not allowed to draw him. So what’s the problem here? I can point to a pig and call it mohammed and no one will know the difference because he’s never been seen.

Well, the problem might be that Vilks actually said who it was supposed to be. That was his point of doing it. At the time in Sweden there was a fad of making “dogs” and place them in roundabouts. He wanted to make a point and made a sketch of such a dog and said what it was supposed to be. Vilks is a somewhat nutty artist type, probably very leftwing in his ideas, but he believes art is above all other laws, and nothing should be banned from art. So he made the drawing, and to his credit he has not backed down. He thinks that as an artist, he has the right to create any art he wants. He probably feels that all this demonstrating is an art project in itself.
Also, if you do a search on the net you’ll probably find lots of art depicting the same person. Lots of artists, including lots of islamic artists over the centuries, have done art with him in it.
The idea that you’re not supposed to draw him is a new idea, most likely with the intent of having some constant reason to be angry and burn stuff.

and in tune with the swedes….could have been noted already – this from doug ross and i originally caught the post at jawa. a member of some atheist group marching in a halloween parade dressed as zombie mohammed attacked by a muslim who felt it was his duty. i take it that there were other religions or religious icons that were represented as well but no one else had the call to address a slight of their religion. one man attacked another and the attacker admitted to such…….the point is the judge. the crime ended up being one of being dressed in such a way as to provoke the attacker to attack.
