Catholic Bishop Warns Pelosi, Biden, Sebelius, Kerry, McCaskill… Judgment Day Is Coming

Bishop Daniel Jenky of Peoria, Ill. has asked parishes, schools, hospitals and religious houses to insert the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel into the intercessions at Sunday Mass to pray for Catholics’ freedom. (TLDM)

“I strongly urge you not to be intimidated by extremist politicians or the malice of the cultural secularists arrayed against us.”
-Bishop Daniel Jenky

Bishop Daniel Jenky of Peoria, Illinois warned Catholic democrats that one day they will indeed have to meet their Creator and will have to give account for their irresponsible acts before God.
The Catholic News Agency reported:

Politicians who consider themselves Catholic but collaborate in “the assault against their faith” should remember they will one day have to give account for their acts before God, Bishop Daniel Jenky of Peoria, Illinois said Feb 10.

“There is a last judgment. There is a particular judgment. May they change their minds and may God have mercy on them,” he told CNA during his visit to Rome.

When asked specifically about recent actions of Democratic Health and Human Services Secretary Sebelius Kathleen Sebelius and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Bishop Jenky replied “I am utterly scandalized.”

“The Lord once said ‘if you deny me at the end, I will deny you,’ this from our most merciful, good Savior. And so if it is a choice between Jesus Christ and political power or getting favorable editorials in leftist papers, well, that’s simply not a choice.”

Both Sebelius and Rep. Pelosi have been at the forefront of attempts to force Catholic institutions to cover contraception, sterilizations and abortifacients as part of their staff’s health insurance plans.

Bishop Jenky said there are too many Catholic politicians in the U.S. who “like to wear green sweaters on St. Patrick’s Day and march” or “have their pictures taken with the hierarchy” or “have conspicuous crosses on their forehead with ashes” but who then “not only do not live their faith they collaborate in the assault against their faith.”

Bishop Jenky spoke to the Catholic faithful in January.

the president does not have the authority under the U.S. Constitution to “require our cooperation with what we consider to be intrinsic evil and mortal sin.”

“I am honestly horrified that the nation I have always loved has come to this hateful and radical step in religious intolerance.”

The bishop pledged that the Church will never abandon its commitment to the Gospel of Life and called on the faithful to “vigorously” oppose what he called an “unprecedented governmental assault upon the moral convictions of our faith.”

Bishop Jenky also struck an encouraging note.

“Have faith! Have courage! Fight boldly for what you believe!” he said. “I strongly urge you not to be intimidated by extremist politicians or the malice of the cultural secularists arrayed against us.”

Preach it, brother! ‘Bout time some member of the Church hierarchy said it! No more milquetoast Christianity. Anne Barnhardt is right: If Jesus and His Apostles were “nice guys,” then “Christianity would’ve never made it out of the Upper Room!”

The likes of Pelosi and Biden should be excommunicated in the most public way possible. That they won’t be says an awful lot about the Catholic Church.

So if the new White House nutrition plan contained bacon and ham in it, would Obama tell Muslims they must serve it at all gatherings at the local Mosque????

It’s about time. This has been going on for a long time and sadly the Catholic Church has been silent and in many ways supportive of the very people that are attacking the Church now. They thought they could get away with it once again. We will fight back Dems.

“not only do not live their faith they collaborate in the assault against their faith.”

Collaborate in the assault? THEY LEAD THE ASSAULT.

  • dwd

Why don’t lawmakers who violate their faith get excommunicated? Wouldn’t that send a message? It’s not beheading or suicide bombing, but it’s all Catholicism has in its holster. Use it.

I suggest these “Catholic” politicians and the liberal clergy (at Notre Dame and elsewhere) reread Hosea 8.

I am not a catholic but i have been waiting for 40 years for Catholics to join me in protesting the slaughter of millions of babies. You can not make a deal with the the devil, abortion is pure evil. No concession, no accommodation, no, no, no, and never.

“Catholic Bishop Warns Pelosi, Biden, Sebelius, McCaskill… Judgement Day Is Coming”

    AND Of course, Obama.

“Bishop Daniel Jenky of Peoria, Illinois warned Catholic democrats that one day they will indeed have to meet their Creator and will have to give account for their irresponsible acts before God.”

The Catholic Church teaches, Last rites a sacrament to confess to God your sins before dying. And when you reach heaven you ask God for forgiveness. And you are in.

Sounds crazy to say this but Catholic women aren’t going off the pill because of what a Bishop says. The Church teaches if you confess your sins you are abolished from them.

    SOME TAKE THIS LITERALLY.

“Both Sebelius and Rep. Pelosi have been at the forefront of attempts to force Catholic institutions to cover contraception, sterilizations and abortifacients as part of their staff’s health insurance plans.”

Say his name, Bishop! OBAMA, OBAMA CARE.

“the president does not have the authority under the U.S. Constitution to “require our cooperation with what we consider to be intrinsic evil and mortal sin.”

There you go, Bishop, finally, he should have started with that!!!

“Have faith! Have courage! Fight boldly for what you believe!” he said. “I strongly urge you not to be intimidated by extremist politicians or the malice of the cultural secularists arrayed against us.”

And he should have added but he won’t, VOTE THE DICTATORS AND HYPOCRITES OUT IN NOVEMBER.

I hope there is enough room in hell for all of the people who deny the Lord. Nancy and all of her crony friends certainly deserve this. Ironically, The the unborn that the liberals are so eager to kill thru abortion are all in Heaven. Those who support abortion unless they repent and ask for forgiveness are condemed to spend an eternity in Hell.

So I ask- “What is the upside to supporting abortion?. There is none!

Excommunication doesn’t carry the same weight it did hundreds of years ago. It used to have serious ramifications in this life and the hereafter.

In the USA even if some bishops refuse to give the sacraments to these Catholic Politicians other bishops will.

Senate is a majority of hypocrites and radicals. The only way to ever accomplish justice is to vote them out of office. If you have sincere feelings about this administration that they are leading us down into temptation then the ALL should be voted out.

And for Obama: He said a baby is a punishment for his daughters. Partial Birth is what he voted for, Planned Parenthood a big part of this administration.

These bishops better look hard when the vote and turn a page on Obama’s Era. Time is now. The only answer is this because there are liberal supreme court judges near retirement and he will select younger and more liberal judges and this bishops words won’t matter one bit.

On November 6, 2012, the United States faces a turning point. Will we restore our constitutional republic or will we continue to slide into European style collectivist statism?

Almost three years ago, on February 27, 2009, average American citizens who stand for individual liberty started the Tea Party movement. Our goal has always been to return our country to the three core values of constitutionally limited government, free markets, and fiscal responsibility.

The election battle of 2012 will be fought from precinct to precinct in every corner of the country. The Left will use every financial, media, and paid staff resource at their disposal to win. If they prevail, the United States as we know it will no longer exist.

The hour for patriots to rise to the challenge and save the republic is upon us.

Join with us now as tea party groups and constitutional conservatives around the country focus like a laser beam on getting out the vote on November 6, 2012.

Obama Campaign Launches ‘Truth Teams’ (TRUTH TEAM, PEOPLE) did you ever?

The Obama campaign is today beginning a new effort to enlist and educate at least 2 million supporters for a “grassroots communications team” they’re calling the Truth Team.

“The goal is to ensure that when Republicans attack President Obama’s record, grassroots supporters can take ownership of the campaign and share the facts with the undecided voters in their lives,” the campaign said in a statement.

The teams will be first launched in 13 “swing states,” including Iowa, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio and Virginia.

The rollout also includes a social media blitz, directing supporters to three new websites: KeepingHisWord.com, which highlights Obama’s record and “promises kept”; KeepingGOPHonest.com, which highlights GOP policy positions; and AttackWatch.com, which fact-checks claims made against Obama on the campaign trail.

“If the other guys are going to run a campaign based on misrepresenting the president’s record – and their own – we have two options: sit back and let these lies go unchallenged, or fight back with the truth,” deputy Obama campaign manager Stephanie Cutter said in an email. “We’re fighting back.”

So far, the “other guys” mentioned on the three websites are almost exclusively limited to former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. There is one mention of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and one mention of the pro-Republican super PAC Americans for Prosperity.

Obama organized a similar grassroots effort in 2008 – Fight the Smears – that involved more than 1 million supporters, campaign aides said.

Best slow yer roll there Mr Beenie. Tens, no hundreds of millions of American women use contraception on a regular basis. Frankly, the catholic heirarchy has been irrelevent for decades-so out of touch with mainstream citizens that well, the pontificators just get ignored.

And corporations religious freedoms are being infringed upon? Ha!

Once upon a time Catholics who exhibited publicly scandalous and openly opposing views to Catholic teaching were summarily excommunicated. Why are Caatholic leaders being so timid now in the face of obvious flounting of Catholic teaching.

  • Mimsey

    hey sparky,

You voted in a majority in the US House in 2010. wall to wall baggers over there. What did that get you? Let me tell you waht it got you: an American population who has gotten a taste of baggerism and the population has rejected that foul meal.

Not to worry. Here is what happens. mittbot loses the election by at least 8 points. Your beloved gop takes the defeat hard. As usual, the gop mischaracterizes its loss as conservative pruity problem. Oh, if we had only been true to our real conservatibe roots we woulda won. So, the rw reconstitutes further to the right. Blacks and latinos and gays and women are solidly behind the Democrats for decades to come.

You may be a bagger yourself. You may be of low IQ. Regardless, you must see that your parties move toward white nationalism and sucession will fail in 2012 and will continue to fail beyond 2012.

I’m a Catholic convert because I saw the other ” churches” falling away with gay bishops, pro- Palestinian views, etc., churches joining the secular. Catholics try to stay in communion with hopes there would be repentance as Christ would, but there was also at a time in history a Crusade and men left their homes to fight invading Muslims. This is a bloodless crusade so far, but it will be a fight against principalities and powers of the air….maybe the airways, media. Watch EWTNs ” the World Over” and check out acton.org.

The Secretary of Health and Human Services is a self-professing Catholic who is one of the most ardent defenders of the abortion license in our country. Obamacare was passed through the good offices of numerous nominally-Catholic Senators and Representatives, despite warnings from Catholic groups (such as the Knights of Columbus, who fought tooth and nail) and without so much as a peep of the same from our esteemed Bishops, that maybe, just maybe, the Obama Administration might be vaguely interested in making free abortion on demand and contraceptives available to all, conscience exceptions be damned.

Remember all the waivers, all the problems with Obama care.

ObamaCare architect: Health insurance premiums will rise, not fall, under law

The other shoe has finally dropped in the Obama administration’s magical thinking about the cost of health insurance premiums under the Affordable Care Act. From The Daily Caller:

Massachusetts Institute of Technology economist Jonathan Gruber, who also devised former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s statewide health care reforms, is backtracking on an analysis he provided the White House in support of the 2010 Affordable Care Act, informing officials in three states that the price of insurance premiums will dramatically increase under the reforms.

The revelation, as DC writer Myles Miller notes, is in direct contradiction to the president’s claim that premiums under his health reform law would be “lower than they would be otherwise; health care costs overall are going to be lower than they would be otherwise.” The new report also flies in the face of Gruber’s own 2009 projections that the law would “significantly reduce, not increase, non-group premiums.”

Echoing conservative reservations about the effects of the law on the marketplace, Gruber now acknowledges that “even after tax credits some individuals are ‘losers,’ in that they pay more than before [Obama’s] reform.”

The chilling effect of ObamaCare on jobs has also been well-documented. A U.S. Chamber of Commerce Small Business Outlook Survey conducted in July of 2011 noted that 33% of business owners identified the health care law as either the greatest or second-greatest obstacle to new hiring that employers faced.

Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. (Psalm 2:1-6 KJV)

The church has to clean out its own house. The fact is that, according to independent studies the vast majority of self-described Catholic women use or have used birth control. So the Bishops may speak for the Church, but not for the churchgoers, and they know it. I’m not saying it’s right, but it is the truth. Does anyone think that the staunchly Catholic Calista Gingrich didn’t use contraceptives all those years when, in the eyes of the Church, she was little better than a whore on the street, albeit with a single client?

  • Mimsey

Ive often wondered, if the CoC is telling the truth, which is rare indeed, that uncertainly around healthcare costs are preventing businesses from hiring, then why oh why, dont all businesses advocate for

    government paid healthcare for all?

Businesses want to reduce their operating costs. Why not get out from under needless healthcare costs? Let the taxpayers pay for healthcare.

The reason is simple. The CoC and businesses have found ways to defray healthcare costs and employers know one thing for sure: holding an employee hostage for lower wages, zero pensions, poor working conditions and absolutely no job security works great – for business. Workers need that healthcare and will do anything to get it.

And my Dad is very ill. Hes in a nursing home. Mom and Da have worked hard their whole lives and saved a bit of money. Now, at the rate of $8,000/month, my Mom is watching her small saving account get depleated by money hungry insurance companies that add ZERO to the healthcare process. For that I will always be for universal care.

Hey Thomas, listen carefully. A business or religious organization should be able to hire those who agree with the beliefs of the organization. Or an individual with different beliefs can choose to work for them but understand that it’s not his place to force the organization to his own beliefs. As far as Jewish hospitals forced to run on the Sabboth Day against their beliefs, that is against the Consitution. Regardless of the unjust laws that are currently on the books and being forced upon powerless citizens and organizations, our U.S. Constitution limits the power of government.

As far as your baseless comment about xtians crying bull ’cause they f’ing love to feel persecuted, you do realize the xtians and jews have been put to death all throughout history just for their beliefs alone. Snowe and Collins are on board with the soshulist religion haters…who suuport womens rights

The Maine Twins, Sens. Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe, are breaking ranks with their leader in the GOP caucus and supporting President Obama’s accommodation on the birth control rule that requires insurers, rather than employers, to pick up the cost for contraceptives for employees of religious non-profits.

“It appears that changes have been made that provide women’s health services without compelling Catholic organizations in particular to violate the beliefs and tenets of their faith,” Snowe said in a statement. “According to the Catholic Health Association, the administration ‘responded to the issues [they] identified that needed to be fixed,’ which is what I urged the president to do in addressing this situation.
“While I will carefully review the details of the president’s revised proposal, it appears to be a step in the right direction,” Collins said in a statement. “The administration’s original plan was deeply flawed and clearly would have posed a threat to religious freedom. It presented the Catholic Church with its wide-ranging social, educational, and health care services, and many other faith-based organizations, with an impossible choice between violating their religious beliefs or violating federal regulations. The administration has finally listened to the concerns raised by many and appears to be seeking to avoid the threat to religious liberties posed by its original plan.”

Curiously enough, both senators co-sponsored 2001 legislation that would have accomplished much of what President Obama’s original mandate did, requiring insurance plans to cover FDA approved birth control, except their bill didn’t provide an exemption for religious institutions. Snowe introduced the bill twice more, in 2005 and 2008.

Summarily excommunicate Sebelius, Pelosi, Biden, McCaskill, and any other politican that supports ObamaCare, said ceremony to be broadcast publicly on EWTN. Interdict any parish that allows them inside a church, defrock any priest that offers them communion. THAT should get their attention!

    Mc Caskill is not Catholic.

  • Missy8s

If you claim to be a Catholic but reject the doctrine of the church, you are not only a bad Catholic you should be excommunicated.

Pelosi, Biden, Sebelius, Kerry and McCaskill insult and belittle Catholics every time they “claim” adherence to the faith and all of them should be VERY PUBLICLY excommunicated by his Holiness, the Pope.

The law of the church is final, if you defy the church’s teaching and doctrines, you do not belong to the church and deserve no such claim of it.

Catholics sold their soul to the devil after 1930’s. Charity was under the disguised as Socialism.

“At the prospect that institutions associated with the Catholic Church would be required to offer to their employees health insurance covering contraception and abortifacients, the bishops, priests, and nuns scream bloody murder. But they raise no objection at all to the fact that Catholic employers and corporations, large and small, owned wholly or owned by Roman Catholics will be required to do the same. The freedom of the church as an institution to distance itself from that which its doctrines decry as morally wrong is considered sacrosanct. The liberty of its members – not to mention the liberty belonging to the adherents of other Christian sects, to Jews, Muslims, and non-believers – to do the same they are perfectly willing to sacrifice.”

Needless to say, Paul’s entire post represents a wonder of analysis, historical knowledge, compelling prose, and sheer righteous indignation But I found myself reading that opening paragraph–just that one paragraph–three times in a row, marveling.

The point Paul makes is vital. It is also, or should be, obvious: If it is wrong to force the bishops to violate their consciences, then it is surely just as wrong to force lay Catholics–or, as Paul remarks, Jews, Muslims, non-believers and members of other Christian denominations–to violate their own consciences. But I had never thought of that before.

Here I am, consciously attempting, in much of my life, to do my humble best on behalf of the ideal of liberty. Yet the slow, steady advance of the welfare state has so affected the whole intellectual and moral climate–has so affected my own thinking–that a truly fundamental point had simply failed to occur to me.

“To see what is in front of one’s nose,” George Orwell once wrote, “needs a constant struggle.”

For so fiercely and untiringly engaging in that struggle, God bless Paul Rahe.

    Thomas and tadcf –

Pro 26:4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like to him.
Pro 26:5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.

You are indeed wise in your own conceit, when you propose that belief in God is equivalent to believing in unicorns. I believe in the Bible, though I am not Catholic nor do I believe in the Pope as the Catholics do. Yet I defend to you belief in God without defending any particular religious institution or its failures, merely defending God and His record, not man’s failures within any given religious institution. These are the words you will one day hear spoken to you on the day your soul is Judged:

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him (God): for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Hm not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools…

So you are fools.. who profess themselves wise, having rejected belief in God which you once knew. To this point in time.. you have been excluded from having true and real faith.. it is a gift you have not been given:

Eph 2:8 For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

You rail against something you do not know, because you are right now what the Bible describes as vessels of dishonor, one of those whom God HARDENS, as He once did the Pharaoh of Egypt during the plagues:

Rom 9:18 Therefore He has mercy on whom He will have mercy, and whom He will He hardens.
Rom 9:19 You will say then to me, Why does He yet find fault? For who has resisted His will?
Rom 9:20 No – but, O man, who are you that replies against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why have you made me thus?
Rom 9:21 Has not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
Rom 9:22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

Such are you, vessels of wrath whose eyes are darkened and your end destruction. We pity you your blindness, inability and unwillingness to come to faith in God:

2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Mat 15:14 Let them alone: they are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

It is doubtful that such hardened hearts can ever be reversed from their folly (they will likely rail against this witness against them), but let it not be said that they are wise, except in their own eyes.

The Catholic Church in America has, it seems, beginning with its support of FDR and the New Deal, confused wealth redistribution with charity. This is a great piece by Rahe. The opening paragraph:

    Quote:
You have to hand it to Barack Obama. He has unmasked in the most thoroughgoing way the despotic propensities of the administrative entitlements state and of the Democratic Party. And now he has done something similar to the hierarchy of the American Catholic Church. At the prospect that institutions associated with the Catholic Church would be required to offer to their employees health insurance covering contraception and abortifacients, the bishops, priests, and nuns scream bloody murder. But they raise no objection at all to the fact that Catholic employers and corporations, large and small, owned wholly or partially by Roman Catholics will be required to do the same. The freedom of the church as an institution to distance itself from that which its doctrines decry as morally wrong is considered sacrosanct. The liberty of its members – not to mention the liberty belonging to the adherents of other Christian sects, to Jews, Muslims, and non-believers – to do the same they are perfectly willing to sacrifice.
    And more:

    Quote:
This is what the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church forgot. In the 1930s, the majority of the bishops, priests, and nuns sold their souls to the devil, and they did so with the best of intentions. In their concern for the suffering of those out of work and destitute, they wholeheartedly embraced the New Deal. They gloried in the fact that Franklin Delano Roosevelt made Frances Perkins – a devout Anglo-Catholic laywoman who belonged to the Episcopalian Church but retreated on occasion to a Catholic convent – Secretary of Labor and the first member of her sex to be awarded a cabinet post. And they welcomed Social Security – which was her handiwork. They did not stop to ponder whether public provision in this regard would subvert the moral principle that children are responsible for the well-being of their parents. They did not stop to consider whether this measure would reduce the incentives for procreation and nourish the temptation to think of sexual intercourse as an indoor sport. They did not stop to think.

In the process, the leaders of the American Catholic Church fell prey to a conceit that had long before ensnared a great many mainstream Protestants in the United States – the notion that public provision is somehow akin to charity – and so they fostered state paternalism and undermined what they professed to teach: that charity is an individual responsibility and that it is appropriate that the laity join together under the leadership of the Church to alleviate the suffering of the poor. In its place, they helped establish the Machiavellian principle that underpins modern liberalism – the notion that it is our Christian duty to confiscate other people’s money and redistribute it.

    “a tyranny of the elite”

February 12, 2012 via The Examiner

‘Takers’ overtake ‘makers,’ threatening American self-reliance

Here are four facts that ought to scare the daylights out of every person who cares about preserving individual freedom, economic opportunity and American self-reliance. According to the Heritage Foundation’s latest Index of Dependency — which measures the degree to which individuals rely on benefits funded by the tax payments of other Americans — these four facts illustrate the reality that our country is losing the spirit of independence that is the heart of citizenship:

    • Takers get more than makers: Individuals received on average $32,748 worth of benefits annually in 2010, the most recent year for which full data is available. By comparison, the average personal disposable income of tax-paying Americans was $32,446.

    • More takers mean more costs for taxpayers: An estimated 67.3 million people in America depended on government for food stamps, retirement income, health care, job training and a host of other benefits. As a result, the dependency index rose 8.1 percent in 2010 over 2009, at a cost to taxpayers of $2.5 trillion.

    • Fewer makers to support each taker: Just as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher predicted, sooner or later the entitlement state runs out of other peoples’ money to redistribute. In 2010, nearly half — 49.5 percent — of all adult Americans paid no federal income taxes. This is a prescription for an economic imbalance similar to the one that has paralyzed Greece.

    • Ranks of the takers are exploding: The baby boomer generation has begun retiring and within the next 25 years their ranks will swell to more than 70 million. Virtually all of them will depend on government for many benefits. This means the Dependency Index is headed higher, even if major entitlement programs like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are reformed now.

As disturbing as these facts are, they only scratch the surface of a problem that Heritage has been tracking since 2002. The index is unique because is measures multiple factors associated with the cost of providing government benefits, as well as the scope of their distribution, using 1962 as a baseline. As Heritage’s Bill Beach and Patrick Tyrrell explain, “the index score has grown by more than 15 times its original amount. This means that, keeping inflation neutral in the calculations, more than 15 times the resources were committed to paying for people who depend on government in 2010 than in 1962.”

Alexis de Tocqueville reputedly said that the American republic will last only “until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury.” Indeed, political philosophers have warned since Aristotle that the worst flaw of democracy is the tendency of the majority to oppress the minority. That is what happens when takers become the majority and use their political power to force makers to hand over the fruit of their labor in the form of taxes. The time remaining for America to reverse this debilitating ratio is rapidly disappearing.

Also, you libs (Thomas) who call all Catholics “kid rapers”…

A child is statistically ONE HUNDRED TIMES more likely to be sexually abused at the hands of their public education staff.

Do you call all teachers “kid rapers”?

Have you researched the “King of Fisting Kits” Kevin Jennings (Obama’s so-called “Safe Schools Czar”? Yeah, he likes to teach kids about fisting. And dental dams (whatever that is…) And likes to hand out flyers to kids showing the locations of all the local Gay Bars. And teachers around the nation brought kids to his “seminars”, without the knowledge of their parents. (“Don’t worry, kid. It’ll be our little secret. You can keep a secret, right?”)

Do you remember Clinton’s Surgeon General? She wants us all to teach our kids, in the home, how to experience all aspects of sex. HANDS-ON. She even wrote the forward to a book pushing that very sickness.

    Two words: Jerry Sandusky.

How about Hollywood? There are more kid-f**kers in Hollywood RIGHT NOW than there have been in the last hundred years of the Catholic Church.

Read about Cory Haim’s latest revelations regarding him and Cory Feldman being “passed around” Hollywood for years, and the general knowledge at the time that “Oh, everyone’s had the Corys.”

You think Sean Penn goes to Cuba for the heathcare? No, he goes for the kid-sex. Then he comes back and sings the praises of Cuba’s system — because if he doesn’t? They have everything recorded, from multiple angles, and they will release the video.

But you don’t give a damn about the child-sex in Hollywood or in the public school system.

    You hate the Church. Period.

Hint: it isn’t the Church that schtupps children. It’s the homosexuals who infiltrated the church and the seminaries for the last 50 years, because they saw it as an ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT BUFFET. If you blame the church for “kid raping”, at least be honest and blame them for LETTING HOMOSEXUALS BE PRIESTS IN THE FIRST PLACE. Because that’s the truth. Plain and simple. Oh, and now they want to be Boy Scout leaders. For the same reason.

If the Catholic Church really wants to make a statement about politicians who are Catholic in name only (CINO’s), they should excommunicate the likes of Sebelius, Pelosi, Biden, Kerry to name a few. Sebelius was Governor of the State in which I live, Kansas, and was a big supporter of Planned Parenthood and late term abortionist Dr. George Tiller. The Archbishop told her she should not receive communion at mass so public was her suppport of abortion. She was the perfect Democrat for Obama to appoint to enact his pro-abortion agenda. If you are a Catholic and can vote for Obama, you are really not a Catholic, you are a fraud.

  • Taqiyyotomist

    #112 Jerry

Indeed. The Church of Christ on earth (and NOT ONLY the Catholic Church, by a long shot) almost never either excommunicates (disallows communion-sharing… you can still attend and listen, but you cannot receive the elements of communion) ANYONE.

Same problem, same reason, that the GOP (the “Stupid Party”) never kicks anyone out of the party, even if they vote against the party 99% of the time on every issue. Many names come to mind, but that is a tangent for another thread.

The Church (not just Catholic) allows unrepentant sinners, even those who are proud of their sin, even those who profit from their sin, even those whose sin takes the lives of babies, to take communion. That people in these thousands of congregations don’t stand up in church on sunday morning and BOLDLY denounce this speaks volumes about “lukewarmness” which has overtaken most churches in America, Catholic or otherwise.

The tent shouldn’t be that big, in either the political realm of the GOP or the spiritual realm of the Church of Christ.

But it is, because we have lost our convictions. Our cojones, even.

    Amen!!!

  • Taqiyyotomist

    Sandy, amen.

Ann Barnhardt also turned me on to the etymology of the word “nice”.

    http://etymonline.com/?term=nice

Late 13c., “foolish, stupid, senseless,” from O.Fr. nice “silly, foolish,” from L. nescius “ignorant,” lit. “not-knowing,” from ne- “not” (see un-) + stem of scire “to know.” “The sense development has been extraordinary, even for an adj.” [Weekley] — from “timid” (pre-1300); to “fussy, fastidious” (late 14c.); to “dainty, delicate” (c.1400); to “precise, careful” (1500s, preserved in such terms as a nice distinction and nice and early); to “agreeable, delightful” (1769); to “kind, thoughtful” (1830). In 16c.-17c. it is often difficult to determine exactly what is meant when a writer uses this word. By 1926, it was pronounced “too great a favorite with the ladies, who have charmed out of it all its individuality and converted it into a mere diffuser of vague and mild agreeableness.” [Fowler]

    Indeed. Excellent point.

Telling the truth is not “nice” by the very meaning and history of the word.

Doing so is, to the pridefully, willfully ignorant masses today, is an offensive gesture. Even a threatening one. And, to the Left, a violent act. Telling the truth, even in an online forum that these idiots choose to read of their own volition, is “Shoving Something Down Their Throats™” What an image that brings up in the mind, no? Can you think of very many images that are more violent than that one?

They, using and abusing language and imagery, become “victims of violence” when they choose to read a comment. When they see a cross on a building, or a message on a church marquee board while driving down the road.

So why even try to be nice? We should be as the Biblical prophets were — bold, unafraid, and — yes – truthful.

  • #107.. your are a 100% right. the second vatican council has been a disaster for the catholic church. one of the worst things it did was allow homosexuals to become priests. prior to that there was an unwritten policy of not allowing homosexuals to enter the priesthood. if you look at the incidence of child molestation in the church the vast majority of it occurred in the 1970’s when the first wave of homosexuals came out of the seminaries. if you are a homosexual you are living in sin in the eyes of the church. so what the heaven are they doing in the priesthood.

Bishop Jenky said there are too many Catholic politicians in the U.S. who “like to wear green sweaters on St. Patrick’s Day and march” or “have their pictures taken with the hierarchy” or “have conspicuous crosses on their forehead with ashes” but who then “not only do not live their faith they collaborate in the assault against their faith.” And not just politicians. Just wait, soon one of them will come forward and tell you all that islam is good for you, because it brings god back into society. It will happen.

Praying for freedom… because that has ever helped. Oh wait, it never has. History proves that without a doubt.

Bishop Jenky tells us that the Lord said, ‘…if you deny Me, at the end I will deny you…’ How does this fit in with asking his parishoners to pray to St Michael the Archangel? Isn’t he denying the Lord? He should know better. Correct me if I’m wrong.

“How does this fit in with asking his parishioners to pray to St. Michael the Archangel? Isn’t he denying the Lord?”

No, he is not “denying the Lord” any more than you are “denying the Lord” when you ask a friend or a family member to pray for you. The Catholic tradition of praying to saints simply means asking those who have gone before us into heaven, as well as the angels (created beings with intellect and will) to pray FOR us to God, the same as you would ask a living person to pray for you or to pray WITH you to God. As for St. Michael, he is mentioned in the Book of Daniel and also in the Book of Revelation as a defender of God’s people against evil forces, so who better to ask for a little extra help?

Many non-Catholics assume that “prayer” automatically implies “the type of adoration due only to God.” It doesn’t; originally the word “pray” simply meant to ask someone for a favor. In fact the word is still used in that sense in secular legal documents which say that the plaintiff “prays the court for relief.” Obviously the plaintiff is not worshipping the judge, he/she is simply asking the judge to rule a certain way.

Also, in reply to #121, Vatican II did NOT “allow homosexuals to become priests.” Vatican II, the actual Council convened by Pope John XXIII, didn’t do half the things people think it did. (Just for starters, it did NOT eliminate Latin from the Mass.) However, many liberals within the Church used Vatican II as an excuse to advance other changes they liked to claim were in “the spirit of Vatican II.”

“It looks like Commander Riker from Star Trek has become a Bishop.”

Funny you should say that, because Bishop Jenky’s predecessor in Peoria, Bishop John J. Myers (now Archbishop of Newark) was a big Star Trek fan!

Please don’t vote for Obama,Roman Catholics. When You think you have gotten what you want, and your Bishops and Cardinals are posing with Obama with arms raised in a victory salute, please don;t vote for Obama no matter what is said.
Once re-elected Obama will wage a war of regulations and taxes. Any tenets of what you as Roman Catholics believe could and probably will be incoporated into “hate legislation”. This has occurred in the UK. You will befined and taxed out of business or out of existance.
I know Roman Catholics can’t and won’t vote for a GOP. Then 77 million of you .please consider stayting home.

The Catholic bishops are fairly autonomous of Rome, and quite autonomous of each other. Kathleen Sebelius was ordered not to receive the sacraments by the Archbishop of Kansas City, the DWI Killer’s son in Rhode Island received the same order, and the Archbishop of St. Louis in 2004 ordered all his priests to refuse Communion to John Kerry.

It is regretable some bishops in Washington, Boston and San Francisco, in particular, won’t do what they should.

It may be true that Catholic women use birth control, that is a byproduct of God’s gift to them of Free Will. But it is also understood that judgement will be between the individual and God and saying that the government made them, allowed them, encouraged them or merely did not stop them is a Nuremburg defense that will not absolve them.

As I see it, the government interceding between an individual and their God is coercing a secularist belief system, a type of religion in and of itself. Therefore it is a government mandated religion, against Constitution as well as the free will and freedom of the individual, religions and nation.

  • The surest sign that Soetoro is not of our culture, our religion, or our country is this one simple fact. Soetoro did not understand that the Catholic Church /Faith has been somewhat divided in the recent decade. We all know the issues & the differences. But — rule # 1 in the USA, whether it is 2 brothers having a fight, a community having major disagreements, OR an entire religious faith having divisions & infighting —– the rule is an OUTSIDER (like a radical Muslim) must never attack the ” two brothers who are fighting” ! What always happens (100% of the time), is that the fighters turn, look at the interferer, immediately UNITE, and kick his Fuggin ASS back under whatever rock he was hatched under Allah land. I have not seen members of my faith this united, focused, pissed off, and ready to rumble — in 50 years. BUT we must not get suckered into violence — just fervent political action. Soetoro is praying every day for a civil uprising, so he can declare martial law. We must squeeze the nuts (or the tits) on every POS politician until they remove the fraud from office. Then, we can sort out the necessary actions against all known traitors. We must be a political tsunami – NOT a flash mob!

Thank you Elaine S for your defence of the tradition of praying to deceased persons or saints.

Unfortunately in the light of 1 Timothy 2:5 it makes no sense whatsoever.

That verse says ‘For there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.’ This does not allow the possibility of deceased persons or saints mediating between us and God.

I am sure you cannot disagree.

does that mean the majority of the Rosary is for naught??

  • John B

    Hi BG,

I’m not familiar with the Rosary so cannot comment other than to simply quote the Bible:

Acts 4:12..Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Salvation is wholly dependent on Christ dying on the cross for our sins and our acceptance of that.

It really is as simple as that.

    John

“‘For there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.’ This does not allow the possibility of deceased persons or saints mediating between us and God.”

If that’s the case, then it would be equally wrong for you to ever ask another LIVING person to pray for you, or to request intercessory prayer for any intention. You would be morally obligated to address all prayer requests directly to Jesus and never to anyone else, not even your spouse or closest friends. Didn’t St. Paul ask the Christians of the communities to whom he wrote the Epistles to pray for him? If so, was he contradicting his own advice? And if living people can pray for us, why couldn’t those who have gone to be with God — the “cloud of witnesses” referred to in Hebrews?

“I know Roman Catholics can’t and won’t vote for a GOP.”

Where on earth did you ever get that idea? I’m Catholic and I vote GOP 95 percent of the time, mainly due to Democrats being pro-abortion. Most of the priests I have known, if they talk about how they vote at all, are very strongly GOP for the same reason. I remember attending a Mass in 2004 at which the priest, a very traditional type, strongly implied that it would be a sin to vote for Democrat John Kerry because he was pro-abortion.

Yes, it was common for Catholics to vote Democrat in the late 19th and early 20th centuries because many Catholics were recent immigrants, and the Democratic Party was more favorable to them. However, that has totally changed since the 1970s.
