Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iranian president, at the “World Without Zionism” convention calls
for wiping Israel off the map (Mehr News Agency – Terror Info, October 26, 2005).
Despite the constant threats by Iranian leaders, the Obama White House is worried that Israel will take action against the regime to defend itself.
The Wall Street Journal reported:
U.S. defense leaders are increasingly concerned that Israel is preparing to take military action against Iran, over U.S. objections, and have stepped up contingency planning to safeguard U.S. facilities in the region in case of a conflict.
President Barack Obama, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and other top officials have delivered a string of private messages to Israeli leaders warning about the dire consequences of a strike. The U.S. wants Israel to give more time for the effects of sanctions and other measures intended to force Iran to abandon its perceived efforts to build nuclear weapons.
Stepping up the pressure, Mr. Obama spoke by telephone on Thursday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and U.S. Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will meet with Israeli military officials in Tel Aviv next week.
The high-stakes planning and diplomacy comes as U.S. officials warn Tehran, including through what administration officials described Friday as direct messages to Iran’s leaders, against provocative actions.

Actually, now I want to see Israel strike just to see the kook-nut Ron Paul freak out.

It would be pleasant to think that Netanyahu told Obama in no uncertain terms to go pound sand.

What? I though Israel was considered our 51st state. How can they do that? Do they think they actually have state’s rights under this Obama regime?

Clearly Iran is. BTW, in case you hadn’t noticed, the USA has invaded Israel this last week. Landed 60,000 troops for a “joint exercise” and are sending a carrier to one of their ports.
Blackbird commented:
Of course there will be major consequences if Israel makes a military strike against Iran. If Israel does nothing the consequences will likely be even more major. This is what happens when you let a problem become a crisis due to inaction, all the choices progress from bad to worse the longer it is allowed to fester. The Obama choice right now is to stay the course, and allow it to progress from crisis to the 3:00 AM phone call emergency. If they think the diplomacy is dangerous now, just wait a bit longer and see what adding Iranian nukes to the Middle East witches brew will do.

One wonders, would the Kenyan Muslim in the WH dare to warn Iran not to attack Israel?
Despite Iran’s threats, not a peep out of the Kenyan so far.

I’ve heard morons all fall and winter say that Netanyahyu and Israel will not strike, and that WE WILL for Obama to get re-elected.
They need to take their heads out of their asses. Israel will do what Israel has to do.
Netanyahu is a MAN. Obama is a COMMUNITY ORGANIZED.
GOOONIONS don’t own Netanyahu.

Bolton Calls Iran Assassination And Sanctions ‘Half-Measures,’ Calls For ‘Attack’ On Iran
Covert work can be broken up into several different tacks as well. While assassinations are considered clearly illegal under international humanitarian law, other activities fall in murkier territory (take, for example, the Stuxnet computer virus unleashed on Iranian nuclear facilities reportedly by Israel and the U.S.). That’s probably why U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton came out today and disavowed the attack on an Iranian nuclear scientist. A State Department statement added: “The United States strongly condemns this act of violence and categorically denies any involvement in the killing.”
Openly contemptuous of international law and a longtime proponent of war with Iran, Bolton’s only objection to the killing of Iranian scientists seems to be that it’s not enough for him:
BOLTON: Well, I think all of these efforts are doomed to failure and in fact the consequence of increasing the sanctions is simply to persuade Iran to finish — to get on with the business of finishing its nuclear weapon, putting it in the position of North Korea which we know has exploded two nuclear devices, which makes it a lot less likely — in fact, probably makes it impossible to believe we would attack North Korea because of the fear of nuclear retaliation.
So I think this is going to a very, very difficult year and I think, honestly, that half-measures like assassinations or sanctions are only going to produce the crisis more quickly. The better way to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons is to attack its nuclear weapons program directly, break their control over the nuclear fuel cycle.

So, in my opinion Obama and Hillary don’t wish to invest all those entitlements and green job failures on a war with a bunch of lunatics, it would take away from more socialism in the States. Seems with this administration its is like wait and see the bloodshed then help Israel.
Or if not help, talk a big talk. No matter, imagine if we are attacked, will Obama talk and bow to our attackers. Seem that way.

Israel is ALREADY at war with Iran setting off bombs and assassinations inside the country. America is lagging events and responding to pressures being put upon us by this stealth war. It is messing up all of America’s plans to complete World Order governance by putting the entire middle east into an EU style trade zone unified under muslim brotherhood fascism, which can only be achieved by wiping Israel off the map.

“Is he in, please; this is President Obama again.”
“No, I’m sorry; he still hasn’t returned. But I’ll take another message.”
[several hours later]
“President Obama again. Has the PM returned?”
“No, I’m sorry to report that he hasn’t, but he did call for his messages and has one for you.”
“May I hear it please.”
“I’m sorry I wasn’t able to get all of it; it was somewhat garbled on the answering machine’s tape, but it ended, ‘and the camel he rode in on.’”

@ Granny, It is up for debate whether Obama cancelled after the hit in Iran or Israel cancelled because of trust. I go with the latter.
We do have 9,000 US in Israel out from Iraq and another 15,000 in Kuwait, some on the border with Jordon.
Add to that 2 Warships with accessories plus another on the way, somethings going to happen and I believe soon.
I will continue to pray for Israel with all my heart.

You and me both SK. I have to tell you, if I were in charge in Israel I would sooner trust Jordanian troops on my soil than American troops – at least under this “president.” He intends Israel no good and it is and has been right along more than abundantly clear.

@Gride & @Jonny Davis: Actually, Ron Paul has always supported Israel’s right to defend herself. In fact, he has warned that OUR meddling in her affairs (mainly by way of buying influence through giving her aid) is likely to hinder Israel from taking care of itself, which Israel is fully capable of doing. Judging from this article, I’d say Paul was right on the money. We can be a better friend to our allies by supporting them when they NEED help than by trying to run their affairs for them.
John Molenaar commented:
Could the reason be that “the one” wants to initiate the attack and get credit for being a great
leader? If he lets Israel do it, he will have to sit on the sidelines.
George Bush did not get Osama, “the one” did. He will then be able to say he saved the world.
Just a thought.

I was hoping that the military maneuvers were to support Israel if they took out the nuclear facilities, but it is beginning to look like another obama blunder.
Ausonius commented:
Be very concerned.
Do not assume Israel will strike, as their only ally (us) are threatening them if they do.
We are completely isolating the nation of Israel.
Plus, if Iran goes nuclear, just think of how high that could drive oil prices up. barry claims he couldn’t prevent it and gets the huge bump in oil prices he so desires that cannot be acheived through his limited ability otherwise.
Oh, wait…I’m sure he wouldn’t be sinister enough to sacrafice our ally, destabilize the entire region, injure the U.S. economy (and the rest of the world), reduce the standard of living worldwide, just to accomplish a political goal.

Once again Israel isn’t playing the part written for them by the US govt. The Israelis are supposed to be martyrs to save the rest of us from war. No wonder Israel isn’t making its plans clear — can they really trust Obama’s USA to stand with them?
Sandy commented:
With all this going on — one would think Obama would call for more oil exploration in the US. I’m listening but the sound of silence from this administration is deafening. Can’t Obama understand that enemy nations might make the cost of oil so high and the demands on us so great that this once giant economic power might be rendered meaningless. hmmmmmm
Bloodless Coup commented:
Face it, Obama will never give the green light for Israel to defend itself. Bebe knows this and he is acting accordingly. Why do you think that key people in Iran, like their Nuclear Scientists are suddenly and mysteriously winding up end up dead? Why do you think that mysterious explosions are occurring at Iran’s Nuclear facilites? Why do you think that Obama is starting to soil his frilly little Islamic panties? Is it because Obama’s secret Muslim allies in Iran are becoming increasing upset with Obama for not being able to keep Bebe under control? That is precisely what I think it is!
