Barack Obama told Univision today that whoever the Republican nominee is, “They represent ideas that I think are wrong for America.”
Like capitalism.
The Politico reported:
President Barack Obama won’t say whether he thinks Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich would be a tougher challenger, but, either way, he’s certain that the difference between him and the Republican at the top of the ticket will be stark.
“I don’t really think about that,” Obama said in response to a question about who would be more of a threat in an interview with Univision conducted Wednesday night in Chandler, Ariz., and released Thursday morning. “What I can say is this: That whoever their nominee is, they represent ideas that I think are wrong for America.”
“On a whole range of issues I think that whether it’s Mr. Romney or Mr. Gingrich or Mr. Santorum or whoever else they might decide to select, they represent a fundamentally different vision of America. And it’s not the bold generous forward looking optimistic America that I think built this country,” he added.
The interview was Obama’s first since delivering his State of the Union address on Tuesday night, and comes as the Republican presidential candidates are stepping up their appeals to Hispanic voters ahead of next week’s Florida primary. Speaking to one of the top U.S. Spanish-language news outlets, Obama offered his own appeals, noting his efforts to make immigration laws more favorable to immigrants even without the comprehensive reform he’s repeatedly called for.
For the record… Barack Obama is the worst jobs president since the Great Depression overseeing the worst housing crisis since the Great Depression.
And the hits keep coming…
Today we found out that 2011 was the WORST YEAR EVER for home sales.

WillofLa commented:
Screw this other crap, let me tell you something about this so-called hurting housing market. Do you people out there want to work your butts off and not ever be able to afford a house? Not a new one because the price of those is totally out of touch with most working people. I’m talking about existing houses that are over thirty or fourty years old that have been remodeled and have twice the space that a new house with the same floor footage that is twice the price. These houses make up more than 80% of the market. The house I have was built in 1956, and has never been remodeled until my wife and I moved in. We’re not finished with it yet, but many were and are now worth much more than what we paid. But that’s just it. What will these houses be worth if the housing market doesn’t keep going down.
This is what you have to understand that happened to the housing market that has taken it out of reach forever from most working people making decent money but no where near enough to pay a three or four thousand dollar a month house note. It would never be that way if houses weren’t manipulated into becoming a “investment” comodity. Once that happened and the big banks, and the Federal government, investment corporations, and other kinds of things like that, it killed the “American Dream” or home ownership.
Now realitor’s will argue with me all day that the Dream is not dead. Sure, if you want to cough up two or three thousand a month where both you and your wife will have to slave at working all your lives just to keep that roof over your heads. But home ownership was never supposed to be enslavement. It was supposed to be the very thing that solidified what being an American was all about. That is not slavery. Sure a home is probably the single most expensive thing you will ever purchase. But the way it’s set up now you can forget it, you won’t be able to own one to find out the fun and enjoyment of home ownership. This is something that many countries who are run by Socialist/Communist/Islamist countries don’t even allow their citizen’s to do. Those countries don’t have private property rights and it’s becoming less and less everyday.
Here’s a big part of what drives the cost up from where it should be that you need to be aware of. What is value? The value of a house is obviously how much it cost to build it, and the price of the lot it sits on, pavement, sidewalks and landscaping, if any, whether it has a attached or detached garage. We all know that the builder gets his profit off the job and that is part of the pricing to. Okay now we are at what you should be paying to a bank or mortage company. The price, though has taken on a life of itself now since the big banks and those others I mentioned have gotten in on it. Some of the traditional price of a home is included where the house is located, like what kind or what neighborhood is it in. What school district is it in. What fire and police protection does the area have, and what and how many businesses are near by.
Those intangable elements don’t have a price on them like a board or a piece of sheet rock, or a can of paint. You can’t add up the intangable’s and add that to the price bringing up the cost you’ll be paying the bank. And there is an amount they do figure into the price and every one knows that part of the price is some of those things. But that’s not what I’m focusing on. What will be added to the price of a house is something that has come about in the last twenty-five years, and that is that if one house can be sold from a bank to a investment corporation for so much profit, how much could the bank make off of houses if they had a thousand of them. Are you getting the picture? Then the investment corporation has several of those banks with houses to sell and we’re talking about some real numbers. Now, the investment corporation sells them to a bigger investment corporation and tacks on profit margins for itself, and on and on. Now, a house that started out at $80,000 is now “worth” $150,000 from all the financial activity that these houses are generating from being sold over and over again from one financial entity to the next. And each time these houses get sold the price goes up higher and higher until a $80,000 house is now selling for $325,000 that has the same floor space as a less expensive one, the same floor treatment, the same remodeled kitchen, the same added bathroom, and the same upgrades in insulation and air conditioning.
In short, really nothing has been done to that house to bring the price up so significantly, and the neighborhood is just like it has always been, the schools didn’t move closer or further away, and the fire dept. can still get to you in the same amount of time. But let’s just say for the sake of arguement that this house sold for the original $80,000 five years ago, but now the same house is going for $325,000. What in the hell changed?? What changed was how much somebodies profit was on that house, the last time it was sold.
That house didn’t move an inch from where it was originally built, and the same bank will be the one you’ll be buying it from. So it’s still the house you wanted but now you can’t even begin to afford it. What would put more American’s into more houses is if we can get houses out of the hands of big banks, and investment corporations by making a house something that cannot be bought for investment purposes, but for the sake of home buying only, to either a first time home buyer, or someone who is buying up in the market. Get our homes out of the hands of the hedge fund corporations, and the Federal governments schemes of selling homes to people who have no business buying a house and then force the price back down to their “natural value” and we will be able to get into the American Dream we once were taught by our parents was the thing that made being an American worth having. Get the big realitor comclomerates out of the houses selling business that drive their realitor’s to sell more houses this month than they did last month like Rohm Emanuel did while he was working at Freddie/Fannie, and maybe we won’t be seeing people loosing their homes if one of the couple looses a job.
Home foreclosures is the number one thing that is causing our economy to be damaged. But it is the fault of the high unrealistic house pricing that is also the cause. When both husband and wife are working their butts off to be able to pay a three or four thousand dollar a month house note, when they both know good and well if either one of them looses a job, there goes the house is just plain wrong. If that house note was more realistic and was around six or seven hundred a month, then in the mean time a minimum wage job would cover the house note and that family wouldn’t end up living in their car, is where home ownership should be in this country.
It breaks my heart to know that good, decent, hardworking people are living in their cars now because they couldn’t pay a overpriced house note is a travesty in this country and should not be happening. Oh, but the big butt banks and investment corporations have already got their money, and the entity that is lined up to buy all those houses again is chomping at the bit to sell those houses again is getting impatient. He doesn’t give a damn about you not having the money. Yeah, you would though if these houses hadn’t become investment comodities instead of being protected and preserved for the American working people instead of some rich fat cat’s who own a string of hedge funds and are already filthy rich. They have theirs, you deserve to have yours to.
I’m all in favor of hedge funds and big banks making profits. But I am totally against houses being put on the auction block that don’t belong there keeping American’s from ever having something that is what American’s work for in their lives more than anything. And that priveledge has been taken away from us by Socialists in the government for the purpose of keeping it out of our reach. Change these laws and take our homes out of the hands of those who don’t need them and we will be able to own the land like the Bible tells us to. We can’t do that if those in the government have taken that away from us. It’s Socialist laws giving big banks the opportunity to make profit off of something that they didn’t have access to before is what the problem is. Just like Wall Street now, the Democrats gave the banks laws that opened up opportunities that didn’t exist before so they could realize profits that could not be obtained before, that keeps them loyal to Democrats, that end up screwing us out of home owership that is rightfully ours for the taking if we have worked for it like we should.
Home ownership is not a right, but the opportunity to obtain a home at a price that is easily affordable, because it hasn’t been sold a dozen times by big banks and investment corps. artificially jacking up the value, and does not require our becoming a slave to the house just to keep it is what will bring back America. Our parents didn’t have to compete with the big banks being given profits by government laws that should not exist. Why should we?

The person who wanted to make a guest worker program a path to citizenship was Ted Kennedy.

*************
Here is what Newt actually said on the subject in the SC debate.
Transcript of SC debate
http://archives.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1201/19/se.05.html
GINGRICH: Right. What I say, we’ll start with I think you have to first of all control the border. I don’t think you can pass a comprehensive bill because nobody trusts the government. So first, you control the border. We have a bill that would have it controlled by January 1, 2014. And I’m prepared both to waive all federal regulations to get it built and controlled by 2014 and I’m prepared to move up to half the people who work for Homeland Security — about 20,000 — they have 23,000 employees in Washington. I’d be prepared to move half of them to Texas, Arizona and New Mexico if that’s what it took to control the border.
Second, I favor English as the official language of government. And I think that creates a continuity.
Third, I would actually modernize the legal system of visas, because currently we make it too difficult to come here legally and too easy to come here illegally.
Fourth, I would make it much easier to deport people. So if you are a non-citizen who belonged, say, to MS-13, an El Salvadorian gang, we should be able to get rid of you in two weeks, not two years. And we should have a much easier deportation.
Fifth, I favor a guest worker program. And I would outsource it to American Express, Visa or MasterCard, because they can run it without fraud and the federal government’s hopeless. So you want a system that is accurate and that is anti-fraud, which leads you then to be able to say to private employers, if you hire somebody who’s illegal, we’re going to have an enormous economic sanction, because there will be no excuse once you have a guest worker program that’s legal.
Then you get down to the question of people who are already here. I believe in what I just described most of them will go home.
The one group I signaled out — and we do have a lively debate on this up here. There are people who have been here 25 years. They’ve been working. They’ve been paying their bills. They’re married. They have children. They may have grandchildren. They may be in your church.
Now, I don’t think we’re going to deport grandmothers and grandfathers who have 25 years of networking and relationships in a community. So I’ve suggested a World War II-style draft board where local citizens would review the applications. You could only apply if you proved that you were financially responsible, you proved you had genuine family ties, and you had an American family sponsor you.
You still wouldn’t get amnesty. You wouldn’t get citizenship. You would get a residency permit.
In order to apply for a citizenship, you would have to go back to your own country and get in line behind everybody else and be processed as a person from that country. But I think this is a doable, solvable, practical solution. And I think trying to deport grandmothers and grandfathers will never pass the Congress and would never be accepted by the American people.

Sorry for such a long post. I hope people read all of it because as a home owner I have always wondered how these houses kept going up higher and higher in cost when nothing more was done to it to make the price that high. It had to have been something else. Talking to realitor’s gave me the idea of what all was involved with the price of a house. But if you aren’t a realitor you will be lied to by a realitor about what makes houses priced like they are. It’s professional secrets of the business.
If houses were taken out of the hands of the Socialist Democrats using them as pawns to get support from big banks and investment concerns, and put them back in the hands of people who are just in the business of selling houses to American’s who are wanting to have a “home”. A place to raise their kids, to be able to teach them the priveledge of having the security that your home provides you, and to feel how wonderful it is to have your own place that you can call yours, and that you know you can’t be thrown out of, and that you have Constitutional rights to protect with a gun if need be, and can blow somebody back out into the street if need be. Here in Louisiana we have a “shoot the burgular” law that says a home owner has the right to shoot to kill anyone who breaks into your home and is a threat to you and your family. The cops come and clean up the mess and bid you good night. That’s the way it should be nationwide. We should be protected from crime and criminals. If you are renting, you don’t have that right, because the property doesn’t belong to you and you have nothing to legally protect. See?
But when the Democrats create their own laws just for the purpose of being able to break a law that is Constitutional, and giving the banks opportunities to do things with houses that they couldn’t do before just so Democrats can make deals with them to give back some of the profits they make off all the houses they get to sell, is not right. What it does is put people out of their homes if the fail to make a payment, and under the conditions the banks establish to protect their profits in the houses they own, then you will be thrown out where before they couldn’t. They would be more willing to work things out with you before the Socialists got involved with these banks and investment houses.
That is what I have heard from legislator’s and that is the banks should be more willing to work with home owner’s so they can stay in the house. But how can they do that if once one of them looses a job there’s no way to make a three or four thousand dollar house note. And look what that high of a house note is paying for. A little bitty 1500 or 1800 square foot house. I live in one that is less than 1200 feet, and I can tell you that it is real hard to find space for anything. And I have seen on the HDTV houses the size of one that I’m living in that are out in California going for $325,000 and aren’t any more of a nice house than mine. But out in California where money is always the name of the game and those people out there don’t give a damn about your circumstances, all they want is as much as is possible to get out of you. They will tell you that you can afford a three or four thousand dollar house note, and once they find somebody who gives in to their convincing ways, you’re stuck in a house note that will bleed you dry!!
We must have a President who understands what the Socialist Democrats have done to the housing market. They gave banks rights they shouldn’t have that had nothing to do with home ownership that is the American Dream, and has everything to do with money! Life is not all about money and how ever much you can get your hands on every day. That is not it. But it is to many people. And every time you hear the “housing market”, they aren’t talking about a “home”. They are talking about the huge money that there is in selling houses, not making homes for American’s. So everytime you hear the words, “housing market” don’t think about a “home”, think about big piles of money that can be made on houses like they were clumps of gold nuggets, instead of something that is the physical evidence of FREEDOM, and not enslavement to a mortage company.

According to him, the abandonment of rational lending standards and Wall Street’s drive to package the loans into opaque securities helped do so.”
In my opinion, “the abandonment of rational lending standards” was the only way for the banks to make the goals established for them by Congress, and the loan packages (backed by Congressional assurances) were a rational attempt to protect themselves from the hazards of nonpayment.
Newt Gingrich also tried to get a more rational approach to housing. And he was a consultant, not a lobbyist.

“Unlike their plus-size brethren, many of which gained notoriety during the 2008-09 financial meltdown, smaller banks tend to be unencumbered by questionable assets or complicated product lines. That has allowed them to operate, if not thrive, just below regulators’ radar.”
So Newt’s prescription, to encourage the proliferation of smaller entities to handle mortgages, turned out in retrospect to make a lot of sense.

Obama thinks what is right for America is a total and utter economic collapse and reliance on other nations for everything, so if Obama thinks a Republican nominee will be the opposite, then yeah!

Ever notice that Obama reminds one of one of those lizards disguised as a human. He sounds like a human, looks sorta like a human but he can never connect and keeps repeating the same lines he has selected from some recording arranging them to meet keep query but somehow always sounding off kilter and unfocused.
I keep expecting him to swallow a rat and then have Hommer Simpson say “I never voted for him.”

“Like capitalism.” you say Jim Hoft, 0bama sounds a lot like Newt Gingrich, he attacks capitalism also.

I think, Mr Obama, we’ve had a good look at your ‘vision of America’….and it’s decidedly un-American. We don’t want it. So yes balancing you and your vision, and the Republican candidate and their idea’s are a stark contrast. Like comparing communism/socilaism and democracy. We should thank you perhaps. You have given us a very clear view where you and those who share your beliefs have been steering this country. You have lifted the fog of apathy, and we see clearly now. For that you should be congratulated.

Follow the money. Obama and Mitt are backed by the same wall street firms. They know if you vote for either one is a vote for them, so nothing will change for them, and all the bad dept will be dumped on the people with Rick and Newt. They claim they did everything until you check the facts and they did nothing. Newt lied so much he got the pants on fire award from CNN
