Despite repeated warnings from the Pentagon, Barack Obama rejected three plans to recover or destroy the US drone that was intercepted over Iranian territory.
Con Underground was the first to report on this latest national security disaster.
Jennifer Griffin reported this yesterday on FOX News.
Obama rejected three different proposals to recover or destroy the US drone that is now in the hands of the Iranian regime.
Of course, the democrat-media complex completely ignored this story.
Today the Iranian regime announced the team of experts who will be examining the captured US drone.
Iranian Fars News reported:
Senior Iranian officials announced here in Tehran on Monday that experts of the country’s Science and Defense Ministries are likely to launch joint cooperation to study and analyze the technology of the US drone that was downed by Iran early in December.
“We have had some meetings with the Defense Minister about the kind of cooperation that the academic community can have with our country’s Armed Forces on the US spy drone and once we come to the final conclusions we will be ready for cooperation,” Iranian Minister of Science, Research and Technology Kamran Daneshjou told FNA on Monday.
“The country’s universities have informed the Science Ministry that they are ready to study and analyze the US stealth drone and demanded the Science Ministry to inform the Defense Ministry of their preparedness in this regard,” he added.
Iran first announced on December 4 that its defense forces had downed the aircraft through a sophisticated cyber attack.
The drone is the first such loss by the US. US officials have described the loss of the aircraft in Iran as a setback and a fatal blow to the stealth drone program.
The RQ-170 has special coatings and a batwing shape designed to help it penetrate other nations’ air defenses undetected.

Would you really run the risk of initiating a war with Iran, to recover a piece of machinery?

Jennifer Griffin is one of the best correspondents on the air anywhere. People that hate Fox must like her as well since she has displayed no partisanship that I can find.

Just another way for o to “share the wealth”.

They are lying. If that drone is not in China right this moment I’ll eat my hat. Iran owes China very big right now for protection in the UN, if they were to withdraw that support it would be all over but the crying for Iran. I can not imagine China standing by and allowing Iran to destroy something as valuable to China as this tech is with their ham handed attempts to dissect it.

Tadcf:
We are already at war with Iran, they have been killing our troops since the 1980′s. What are they going to do? Close the Strights of Hormuz? That raises the price of oil but cuts off their revenue stream, they need the money, always have.
If they didn’t like us destroying our drone on their territory they could complain to the UN.
The only downside to action is that it solidifies the control of the Iranian regime over the country. They would claim that they are under attack and Iranians have to stick together to resist. Popular crap over there.

Astonishing. These fuggers cannot even build an earthquake safe building or provide flush toilets for the masses, yet they are capable of nuke science and reverse engineering?
jhump commented:
I thought that sending the drone over Iranian territory was already an “act of war.” Didn’t you get the Nor Luap newsletter? As another commenter mentioned upthread, China’s best and brightest are already tearing it down in order to reverse engineer it. The fact that we had no contingency plan for this specific event is troubling.

Excellent response.
Indeed. Iran has been conducting proxy wars for quite some time. Who does tadcf think built and supplied our enemies within Iraq with all those weapons and IEDs?
It’s been common knowledge for most of the time we’ve had troops there.
We are the Stupid Nation. Have been for quite some time.
Thanks, commie Democrats, for that. Your little experiment that began in NYC in the early 1900s as the New School? MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. You have made us the world’s national Village Idiot — just as you planned.
We surrender to third-world crapholes. We allow obvious proxy-wars against us. We allow the infiltration of enemies (beyond that of the Communist nation-destroyers, I mean) into every single institution that you commies yourselves infiltrated: Media, publishing, arts, recording, film, and education from pre-kindergarten to PhD.
The alligator will eat you last, you think.
heh.

There were multiple contingency plans. The Commander in Chief rejected them all.

In this Brave New World, proxy wars are not declarations of war, or even casus belli, justifications for war. Seemingly unbelievable, no? If I hire, arm, and train a hitman, do the cops have the right to go after me? Well, DUH! But Iran is free to do it. Russia has always been free to do it, all over the goddamn globe.
Not unbelievable when you consider that, also, in this Brave New World, it is apparently NOT illegal for a sitting president to not only officially release an obviously forged birth certificate, nor is it illegal for him to deflect attention away once it becomes widely known by pretending to kill OBL, who has been dead for years, and by using a collusion with the Mass Media to fool the public into believing it, NOR IS IT APPARENTLY ILLEGAL to then execute the very Seals who “killed OBL” and dumped his body in the sea less than a day later.
But I can’t smoke a joint. Not without the proper paperwork. Jailtime, fines, fees, mandatory counselling by State Psychologists and pseudo-same…
…but it is apparently not illegal for Corzine to steal 1.2 billion dollars.
We’re Screwed 2012.

Who would ever hold him accountable for delivering information to our enemies. You can’t. This was handled in such a way that O will still be seen as “Making a difficult choice” but in reality, his choice is cloaked in treachery.
Everything O does gives the appearance of acting in good faith but under the facade, everything he does destroys.

Truth. This brings to mind that Old Serpent. Naturally — O’s spiritual father, the fallen angel running wild and free in our world right now known as Satan, has the exact same M.O.

The Iranians are milking the publicity on this for all it’s worth. Of course our MSM has mostly moved on to Obama’s football bowl picks…the real story as far as they’re concerned.
Multitude commented:
As much as he and his administration have helped China obtain U.S. military and intelligence secrets, I doubt it’s of much interest or concern to Obama. If anything, he’s got to be increasingly furious that this country has refused to collapse.
He got his law suspending the Constitution’s due process rights (hello news media?!!! oh right, you don’t think you’ll be a target as you’re going along with the totalitarian regime. Ask Stalin’s victims how that worked for them). He’s set a dozen different charges, each of which were believed to be able to take it all down. But unlike some of the conspiracy theories, I’m increasingly convinced he believes he is doing the right thing.
Inside the progressive movement (in both parties), it is acknowledged that the game is up. Either we demolish the current structure through controlled demolition, or it’ll come down ugly. There’s no way more than a hundred trillion in liabilities pledged with nonexistent assets will ever be paid. We know what the French Revolution looked like and the elites in power most certainly intend to avoid that outcome.
Progressivism is not a radical movement (nor is Marxism); it is counter-reactionary. Marx sought to impose another order where the proletariat would be in charge, but it still was another imperial order. Marx loathed the chaos of the French Revolution, despised its lack of order. Liberals (aka Republican party elites) cling on for a few more years while Progressives believe the time of the controlled demolition is here; both agree it’s inevitable.
Of course, they also understand the middle class won’t like being thrown back into serfdom. That’s why your resistance won’t be permitted. Strangely, I suspect both Obama and Romney are more aligned with kook Ron Paul’s isolationism.
Ask yourself this: how would Paul have handled a captured drone? Any differently than Obama? Walk away? Pull out? Negotiate with the Taliban to surrender? Don’t we have Ron Paul in office already, when it comes to foreign policy? I’m terrified of his foreign policy ineptitude but increasingly don’t see it as any different than Obama’s, except Paul’s would be aligned to some sort of principal and rationalized approach rather than the bumbling incompetence and indifference Obama and the progressives exemplify.

Patty commented:
While human and mechanical errors are inherent in the operation of any type of machinery, few commentators have focused significant attention on the full spectrum of drone flaws and limitations. For more than a decade, remotely piloted aircraft have been a mainstay of US military operations and the tempo of drone operations continues to rise yearly, but relatively little has been written about drone defects or the limits and hazards of drone operations.
Perhaps the Air Force is beginning to worry about when this will change. After years of regularly ushering reporters through drone operations at Creech Air Force Base and getting a flood of glowing, even awestruck, publicity about the glories of drones and drone pilots, this year, without explanation, it shut down press access to the program, moving robotic warfare deeper into the shadows.
The recent losses of the Pentagon’s robot Sentinel in Iran, the Reaper in the Seychelles, and the Predator in Kandahar, however, offer a window into a future in which the global skies will be filled with drones that may prove far less wondrous than Americans have been led to believe. The United States could turn out to be relying on a fleet of robots with wings of clay.

That China just launched its alternative to U.S. GPS in December, and that Chinese technicians well equipped in GPS jamming and manipulation may have been available for consulting projects outside the nation are all aspects curious journalists would be looking into, if they didn’t want to challenge Dear Leader.
Journalism sure must be easy these days… you just write what the Party officials hand you.
