The candidates continue to improve with each debate. The liberal media? Not so much.
ABC commentator George Stephanopoulos was called out this morning after his ridiculous and biased performance last night.
The crowd booed the ABC host’s silly question about contraception.

The Daily Caller reported:

ABC News commentator George Stephanopoulos directed pointed, hard-edged questions to Republican presidential candidates during Saturday night’s New Hampshire debate, often attacking without providing evidence to justify his broadsides.

When questioning former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Stephanopoulos, a former senior advisor in the administration of Democratic President Bill Clinton, premised some inquiries on the assertion — offered without supporting facts — that Romney’s job-creation statistics were inaccurate.

“Now, there have been questions about that calculation of 100,000 jobs. So if you could explain it a little more,” Stephanopoulos asked Romney of the former governor’s claims about jobs created by companies he has helmed. “I’ve read some analysts who look at it and say that you’re counting the jobs that were created but not counting the jobs that were taken away. Is that accurate?”

“No, it’s not accurate,” Romney bluntly responded. “It includes the net of both. I’m a good enough numbers guy to make sure I got both sides of that.”

Stephanopoulos did not cite any analysts by name.

In another line of questioning, Stephanopoulos asked Romney if he believes “that states have the right to ban contraception, or is that trumped by a constitutional right to privacy?”

Romney responded by questioning Stephanopoulos’ logic and his choice to raise a hypothetical situation that would never happen.

  1. I watched the debate. It was hard to sit through Stephanopolulos AND Sawyer! The contraception question was down right ridiculous and a waste of debate time. Maybe the liberal left media should not be allowed to host these debates because it’s nothing more than a toned down “gotta” hour and serves no one. Maybe they should spend their time analyzing their current president’s continual screw ups. That would keep them busy all day long…

  2. Typo Alert: meant to say “gotcha” hour…

  3. When Rick Perry said he may not participate in all these useless debates, everyone was apoplectic because of it. Now you know why he said that.

Do you really think these left wing hachet jobs are designed to give voting conservatives a window into the candidate’s mindset and philosophies? No, they’re designed to build viewship for a media that is sinking like the Titanic. And if, in the meantime, they give fodder to the Obama bunch, well, that is just another perk.

I didn’t watch and am burned out on these endless, useless debates. Let the candidates do their thing (retail politicing) and have ONE debate between the nominees.

  4. “some say…”, “there are people who…”, “[some variation of 'experts'] believe that…”

these are all tip offs that what comes next is pure BS, the best response is, “name them”; I find the same thing with a numbers that are quoted so I now ask, “cite your source”

  5. George Step on all of us is a horrible leftist!!! Go away George, Obama sucks and you can go and be miserable with him.

  6. I HATE PEOPLE WHO WRITE IN ALL CAPS, BUT…

WHY DO THE GOP CANDIDATES KEEP PLAYING IN THE LEFTY MEDIA’S SANDBOX????? IT’S ELECTORALLY SUICIDAL!!

  7. The contraception question was a toned-down equivalent of what he really wanted to ask, namely, “I heard a number of southern states and Texas want to reinstitute slavery. Do you agree and do they have the right?”

Exactly right, Chuck. Another one is “social justice” or People’s democracy”. Putting an adjective before the noun. Why not only justice or democracy? The liberals use the adjectives to basically fool the non-inquizative or loyal adherents into supporting the their meaning or vision of the word.

  9. #8-

Thanks to Dennis Prager for the valuable insight. Watch him explain the meanings.

  10. I can’t believe that Stephanopoulos, hope I spelled that right, or he will come question me.

Personally, there may have been some help from Axelrod or Plouffe, may have slipped in a couple of clinkers. Who knows and who cares. One thing I would have called Stephanopoulos to verify his sources.

Definitely, more brains on stage then with the questioners. And another thing is 3 of these candidates should be able to beat Obama on his horrible record as president.

  11. Stephie will always be a shill for the dims, and as of last night may never recover the miniscule cred he ever had. That Diane S must be taking a helluva lot of Rxs – what a miserable joke she is…women all over America must be hiding from embarrasment!!

  12. OT-

White House threw secret ‘Alice in Wonderland’ bash during recession

One morning during his Senate campaign, Obama didn’t show up to a meeting with donors. “After a frantic search, a white staffer named Peter Coffey called Obama’s barbershop to find that, yes, he was there.”

The president confronted Coffey about the call later that day.

“ ‘The relationship between a black man and his barber is sacred,’ Obama bellowed . . . ‘For failing to understand this truth, your punishment is to watch the movie “Barbershop.” And for further punishment, you will then watch the sequel, “Barbershop 2.” ’ ”

Often White House staffers found themselves in the middle of husband-and-wife quarrels.

“The advisors could feel hopelessly caught between husband and wife,” Kantor writes. “The Obama marriage was awkward for everyone: for the aides, for the president . . . and for the first lady.”

  13. Stephanopoulos, what Gerry Springer wants to be when he grows up.

  14. Just goes to show how lame the repub candidates are to allow an asshat demo-crap like stephanopoturd to be the moderator…god help us all

  15. Nothing illustrates how politcally stupid the GOP is as their continued acquiescence to liberal media dictated campaigns.

I have been watching liberals blatantly skew debate perceptions for decades. It’s like a football game played on your opponents turf with referees all ex-coaches and players of the other team.

These debates are run by operatives of the democratic party. They are designed to make Republicans look bad. Stop abetting your enemy’s attempts to discredit you.

If you think it’s bad now, wait until the God-like Obamamessiah is on the other side of the stage.

The democrats would not let Fox participate in the debates last time, and the Republicans dutifully showed up to get lambasted by ex-Clinton administration officials working for NBS/ABC/CBS/CNN.

There is no reason to let the democrat media decide who the moderators are and what the scope of the debate will be. To do so is electoral suicide. The Republican party needs to show some spine and not show up until there is an even playing field.

What the hell is so hard about this situation for GOP leadership to grasp?

  16. Gingrich was good with his media bias too. Still don’t like any of the candidates. But the Left wants to play the same old same old.

  17. Why do they allow left wing liberals to ask questions in the GOP debates? The questions have nothing to do with a presidency. Contraception!!!! Really? What does that have to do with how someone will handle the mess this country is in.

Stephanopoulos is so left, when he turns right at a trafic stop, he gets a ticket for going the wrong way.

  18. Doesn’t George know these candidates don’t like tough questions?

  19. Yeah but the GOP is set up to be the Opposition Party- a pretend opposition. The Gop is the
“Permanent Loser Party”. It props up the Donks to look legit. I understand that in Calif the GOp will not run anyone, That’s anyone against a strong Democrat.

  20. #20

Yeah Seth we see them ask these “tough” questions of Obama every day.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  21. Resident Leftist? I guess this might be true if you concede that the others at MSNBC are communists.

  22. ABC Resident Leftist George Stephanopoulos Big Loser at New Hampshire Debate

Why, why, why, why, why does the Republican Party keep on doing this crap? WHY do they keep staging debates that end up being moderated by known leftists that have no journalistic integrity, whose aim is very likely to be making the Republican candidates, the Republican Party, and a conservative agenda look bad?

Instead of trying to shake the Stupid Party label, they seem determined to prove it accurate, time and time again.

  23. Oh it was his once in a lifetime chance to turn the tables on the Spanish Inquisition and put the Catholic Church on trial.

  24. NBC could have pick two kids off the street that could have done a better job than these two left wing loons………Sawyer and Stemanopolous…….the questions where terrible ………..contraception should be abolished…………..come on when our country is in such a terrible mess ………. these are the questions families sitting around the kitchen table are concerned about……..come on…………….just saying

  25. We have the entire Saturday Night, 1 hr 24 minute GOP Presidential Debate from New Hampshire posted now on Common Cents..

    http://commoncts.blogspot.com/2012/01/video-full-gop-presidential-debate.html

  26. Since when do dems care about real numbers. They manufactured “saved or created” to save the job of their SCOAMF President. Such bs from Steffie, is almost unbelievable, but is nothing compared to the lies liberals will be spouting throughout election season.

  27. Such bs from Steffie, is almost unbelievable,…

Always remember, the guy was the White House communications director for the Clinton Administration.

Apparently, the Stupid Party either forgot the above little fact, or assumed that he’s somehow different now because he works for ABC.

  28. Gerorge , One more display like that and Katie C. will be taking your chair

  29. …and Katie C. will be taking your chair…

That would not be an improvement.

  30. Meant ABC but who can the diffence now days …………just sayin

  31. We need debates ran by conservatives.

‘So the chief political operative for a disgraced, impeached ex-president is the right guy to moderate a Republican debate?

And with America’s debt surpassing 100% of GDP — which makes us, officially, a debtor nation; with Iran threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz; with China gearing up for war; with Islamists rising throughout the Middle East; with rating agencies threatening to further downgrade the United States; George Stephanapolous wants to discuss banning contraception? Really?

No, that’s the perverted worldview of a manic progressive, attempting to tar Republicans as religious throwbacks through his interrogatories.

Here’s a solution: we need a conservative bloggers’ debate.

I nominate Ace of Spades, Andrew Breitbart, Ed Morrissey, Erick Erickson, Jim Hoft, John Hawkins, Michelle Malkin and Glenn Reynolds.

I can guaran-damn-tee that their combined audiences dwarf Stephanapolous’ ratings.

So who do we have to sue to pull this off?’

    http://directorblue.blogspot.com/2012/01/i-am-so-f-ing-sick-of-these-left-wing.html

  32. …George Stephanapolous wants to discuss banning contraception? Really?

He only does that because he knows that typically gets conservatives going.

Just for once, when some liberal media idiot tries to bait a conservative on the abortion issue, I’d like to hear that conservative say, “Look, at this point there are more pressing issues than that. We need to return the country to prosperity, we need to impart sustainability to our government by trimming it and its budget down to size (including repealing Obamacare), we need to get Americans back to work, and we need to secure the porous southern border. Once we do all these things, then we can talk about abortion. But not a moment sooner.”

  33. FIRE Stepholoccocus.
People are out of work, hungry and homeless———-”so let’s talk about contraception” says stephopoopolis, the obammy co*cksucker. (which Romney and Santorum are against contraception, hate women and want them barefoot and pregnant.)

He and Diane Sawyer need to go. YOU ARE FIRED.

Stephapoopolis gave Ron Paul and Huntsman only 2 times to speak in an hour and a half.
I don’t have time for this. When it was Ron Paul’s turn Stephanpoop went to break. FIRE HIM!

  34. Blacque Jacques Shellacque commented:

Ron Paul did just that when confronted with a similiar question of little importance in regards to delivering babies years ago.

  35. FEED UP. I believe that media organizations CANNOT be ALLOWED to use their status as a news organization to PROMOTE the agenda of a political party without PROPER DISCLOSURE. THIS MUST STOP, these news organizations SHOULD be REQUIRED to file with the Federal Elections Commission as a Democrat Party organization and no longer be ALLOWED to be know as a NEWS media!!!!!!!!!! !!! They love to promote taking my rights away, giving me more regulations IT’S ABOUT TIME THE LIGHT IS SHOWN ON THEM.

  36. Im glad to see so many of you complaining about Stephanopolous obvious bias and stupid questions during the debate..please make sure you take the time to send the same message to ABC news…I did. Peter Jennings must be rolling over in his grave. I think George is looking for a job at MSNBC.

  37. Yes, who cares what the candidates’ positions are on individual privacy and the validity of their claims to be able to create jobs? Only commies like Stephanapolous, that’s who.
