In the video below Bob Beckel among others have a strong reaction to this bigoted anti-Christian/ anti-Tim Tebow op ed from The Jewish Week.
“Rabbi You’re still a bigot” “We’re gonna raid mosques and burn down buildings? Where do you get off saying that you Punk?!”

At least for me, Beckel makes “The Five” unwatchable. I am not averse to the opposition argument in a reasoned civil debate, but Beckel is anything but reasoned. He doesn’t debate, he screeches, bullies, interrupts, and is vile in general.
So, excuse me for not giving Beckel credit for getting one right.

Then he was gone one day, and I realized I missed his input. Strange, I know! But having him as a foil adds to the program.

Most Jews are leftists for some reason. And some Jews are strongly anti-Christian. And liberals in coastal cities like New York City absolutely despise right-wing White Christians in Middle America and the South. That’s who this guy is. He represents their views perfectly.
This proves that rightists who advocate pandering to ethnic groups who loyally vote Left is pointless. The mainstream Right in America has been staunchly pro-Jewish and pro-Israel for decades. Only a small minority of the isolationist Right bashes Israel and some Christian fundamentalists dislike Jews for rejecting Jesus (think Mel Gibson types).
But they’re still a minority.
And what has it gotten us? We still only get about 25% of the Jewish vote. Now, I’m not saying we should turn our backs on Jews because of this, I stand with Israel and like Jews regardless of how much they hate me and vote for the Left.
But the lesson is clear: These rightists who advoate we give amnesty to illegal immigrants and leave the borders wide open in order to court the hispanic vote are suicidally stupid. All you’re doing is allowing more future Democrat voters into the country and putting more nails in our political coffin.
Just do what’s right. Don’t betray your beliefs in order to pander to identity groups. Put America first in your policies. Don’t follow the Left by trying to balkanize demographic groups.

I’m Jewish and I can truly say I was so disheartened that a fellow Jew, and a Rabbi, could write such a disgusting piece. Yeah, add me to the “first time I ever agreed with Bob Beckel” list, too.
What’s bad is that many Jews are being led by Rabbis such as this, and buy the same “program” of rank stupidity, both anti-Christian fear and pro-tolerance-of-Muslims….and yes, I understand why, I know the historic roots of these feelings, but have to say that the Jews who believe the Left’s lies need to study a bit. But it’s also true that most of these know very little about Judaism, much less any other history, so are easy prey for demagogic jerks like Hammerman.
Sad, and I hate to admit all of it, but that’s the way it is. I happen to go to a synagogue where the prevailing attitudes are much more conservative/Right, and I am sure almost all the members would be saddened by Rabbi Timmerman’s disgusting words.

@ jharp: u must read the context to understand the entirety of what, and to whom Jesus was speaking when He said those words… it wasn’t to His true disciples, rather to the Pharisees (religious hypocrites of the day who enjoyed beating down the common man for their lack of religious knowledge). The Pharisees would openly pray in the street corner, thanking God for making them less sinful than the outcasts of society.
This is not what Tim Tebow is partaking in, therefore, your assumption that “real” christians are condeming him is false.

You can listen to some of his prayers on NFL.com… they have him mic’d up.. pretty much his prayers go like, God I need your help, protect my teammates, be glorified in everything I do, whether I win or lose… etc.
It all depends on the intent of the heart… is he lifting himself up in pride, and putting people down, or is he genuinely thanking God for the opportunity to give Him glory?

So, you conjured up your opinion without any knowledge whatsoever of what was written and are looking to google for answers instead of the exact chapter and precise verses which were given to you so you could easily look it up.
Jesus was talking about the hypocritical lives of the pompous Pharisees , professional religious leaders who were twofaced cheats, doing one thing in public and another in private, and dumping onto the hapless people oppressive lists of rules and regs they made up themselves. Dreary, ambulance-chaser busy-body lawyers-types in robes.
Tebow is a good-natured athlete who has the joyful enthusiasm of someone who feels God’s presence. Makes him happy. He’s so happy, he makes OTHER people happy.
