It Begins… School District Bans Santa Over Religious Concerns

A Massachusetts school system banned Santa Claus from visiting schools this year.
He’s too controversial.
FOX Nation reported:
A Massachusetts school system is embroiled in a war on Christmas debate after Santa Claus was initially banned from visiting elementary school children over “religious” concerns.
Since 1960 firefighters in the town of Saugus dressed up like Santa Claus and visited every elementary school handing out coloring books. But on Monday, the school superintendent told firefighters that they would not be welcomed into the classrooms.
This is just the start. The left will do anything to ban Christianity from our society.

It isn’t banning CHRISTIANITY to ban Santa Claus.. it is banning freedom of religion (SAINT Nick) and belief and speech. It is a PRECEDENT of oppression. Santa Claus isn’t Christian per se.. show me the Bible chapter and verse where Santa and his elves come from the North Pole with reindeer on a sled to give “good” boys and girls gifts..
C’mon.. its a holiday tradition.
Once they can ban a holiday tradition then they can decide whatever is or is not allowed to be expressed.. religion or thought, according to what “offends” the elites.
It is a slippery slope.

A Massachusetts school system is embroiled in a war on Christmas debate after Santa Claus was initially banned from visiting elementary school children over “religious” concerns.
Since 1960 firefighters in the town of Saugus dressed up like Santa Claus and visited every elementary school handing out coloring books. But on Monday, the school superintendent told firefighters that they would not be welcomed into the classrooms.
However, Santa Claus is not a religious figure – and is not mentioned anywhere in the Biblical story of the birth of Jesus.
Regardless, the superintendent stood by his decision until word began to spread across the community. By late Monday, Santa had been given a temporary reprieve. The Saugus School Committee is expected to address the issue next month – meaning Santa’s days may be numbered.
At least one school committee member is supporting the firefighters, calling the Santa controversy a case of political correctness gone amuck.

I also do not see anything indicating that this school had liberal administrators.
Besides regardless of the anger that I will receive for this comment – An ultra-orthodox contingent of Puritans took control of England under the often brutal leadership of Oliver Cromwell, who outlawed Christmas in England in 1645. A quarter of a century before that, a group of separatists even more conservative than Cromwell had left for America. They never celebrated Christmas, and in fact, outlawed it in Boston from 1659-1681.
Why did the Puritans ban Christmas? Well… because it’s not Christian. It’s a Pagan holiday, and they knew it. So they outlawed it.
It wasn’t until 1870 that Christmas was declared a federal holiday and really didn’t take off in America until 1931.

Every year we get a small birthday cake, join hands, sing “Happy Birthday” to Jesus, then bow our heads and give a prayer of thanks. The modern Santa Claus, a creation of modern artists and writers, from Thomas Nast to Coca-Cola. He shows up to boom, “HO, HO, HO!” at malls and Christmas parties and pass out candy to kids. When he does not hold religious ceremonies, or preach about Jesus, or anything else. I’ve never seen these Santas read from a Bible while talking to the kiddies at the mall, perform a Christian ceremony or hand out Holy communion.
Hence, modern, non-Nicholas of Myrna “Santa” is not a religous figure, though he does symbolize charity.

When I was in fourth grade in 1973, our public school in upstate New York had its annual Christmas play. I was chosen to read the Christmas story from Luke 2. It was Christmas – of COURSE we acknowledged the “Christ” part of Christmas. Could you imagine how many liberal heads would explode today if a child got up in a public school and read from the Bible like I did?
At our annual Christmas concert, the public school band, orchestra and choir performed traditional Christmas hymns mixed with secular holiday songs. This was the case in both elementary and high school. The concert ended with “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”
Also, we had Christmas parties in our classes every year, we each had a Secret Santa and exchanged gifts, and no one gave it a second thought (including my Jewish friend who was more than happy to take part in the annual gift swap!). Our principal dressed up as Santa on the last day of school before Christmas Vacation. We kids LOVED it.
Liberals, on the other hand, just love sucking the joy out of everything.

The reason why it’s so controversial is because the school system is teaching a “belief” (Santa) and won’t allow talks of a Jesus. This isn’t fair when kids come home and ask their parents if Santa is real and the parents tell them no, or rather the child comes home telling their parents they learned about Santa in school and now that puts pressure on the parents to either tell their kid he’s not real, or now they have to buy their kid presents from Santa to “play along”. Everyone always says the parents need to be teaching their kids right and wrong, and when the school system allows teaching a belief of one thing over another then they aren’t teaching the kids the truth! If the school system doesn’t believe in teaching Jesus when it’s his birthday then maybe they should attend school on Christmas.
