Oakland Mayor Quan Praises Occupy Oakland Protesters After Riots Cost City $1 Million (Video)

Oakland Mayor Jean Quan praised the Occupy Oakland protesters after riots on Wednesday night. The violent radicals smashed windows in several businesses and banks, shut down the port, blocked traffic and attacked and wounded police officers.
Mayor Quan commended the 99% movement, via The O’Reilly Factor:
“The highway patrol and other forces came and ensured that it was peaceful tonight. We will act if we need to tonight to maintain safety. But it looks like this was a good day for the demonstrators and for the 99% movement.”
Yup. It was a peaceful night. A lovely night.
For the record… The violent #Occupy Oakland protests on Wednesday cost the city at least $1 million.

An elected official, the Mayor of Oakland, has sided with anarchists. She allowed them the freedom to protest; seems OK with them destroying public and private property; and appears to condone the attacks on public workers, who are charged with defending citizens and city property paid for by taxpayers.
This is what Progressive leadership looks like. The old Democratic Party is dead and any sense of decency it once had has been buried with it.

I suspect the cost to the city of Oakland is minimal compared to the cost to private enterprise. Oakland is the fifth busiest port in the nation and it has been shut down for several days. That means that nothing is going out and nothing is coming in – and we are ALL going to pay for that in a huge way with increased costs for just about everything.

This is a perfect example or representative government. Quan was elected by the people of Oakland and they now have one of their own running the city government – and it won’t be too long before they go bankrupt.
This calls to attention that we all need to remember two important things.
First, we should all start RIGHT NOW, continually repeating the mantra that when California goes broke – NO FEDERAL BAILOUT for CALIFORNIA! We must put them on notice right now that we will never be open to the argument that if California goes bankrupt it will hurt the entire nation. We cannot possibly allow them to hold the entire nation hostage to their passive aggressive communist, socialist failed economic policies. When California goes down – let them fall or make THEM all pay for it.
Second, we have allowed radical people like Quan to permeate our nation gradually for the last 80 years. They have infested our government, our schools and universities, our government and our court system. We need to take back our nation and make sure that it continues to be run as our founding fathers intended. That’s why the USA is a CONSTITUTIONAL Democratic Republic of States.
In order to take our nation back from these liberal vermin we will have to take strong measures like, not hiring them, not patronizing their businesses and not allowing them into our civic and social associations and institutions. Unless we strike back at them with strong economic and social measures and root them out of our entire society, they will continue to work towards the disintegration of our nation. Its a simple choice – we either root them out or we go down. It would be nice if we could simply pacify them, however, that will never work. We need to shun them at every turn in the road and discriminate against them at every opportunity we possibly can.

That will take a while to develop (as with the US). Any new nation that would be formed would strictly adhere to its founding documents … for a while. The biggest problem is going to be that the split is more urban/(ex-urban-rural) than by state. In any event, the states that will leave will be pretty much all of the energy states (save Cali, but they don’t allow themselves to exploit any of their resources, so they count as a resource-poor state so long as leftists are there), with the remaining states producing little much but people who leech off of others and like to tell those same others how they should act, behave, think, and spend “their” money. They will collapse in no time and the Constitutional Union of American States will be able to buy up lots of land and military hardware and everything on the cheap. The only problem will be keeping illegals out (as the leftists try to flee their paradise, as always happens) but the new nation will have no stomach for violations of the border or their sovereignty, which they will hold dear.

Oakland Mayor Jean Quan spoke publicly for the first time Tuesday about the recall petition submitted this week by a group of city residents, saying she has been too busy to examine the petition.
In the recall petition, the residents said they primarily wanted to recall Quan for “willfully ignoring the city’s most pressing issue: public safety.”
The petition also criticizes Quan for her stand on development issues. Quan has “exhibited no leadership or insight to develop or implement a sustainable solution to our growing unemployment,” the petition states.
The city will have to verify that at least 50 of the 71 signatures are valid. Recall proponents will then have 160 days to get roughly 19,800 signatures. Once those signatures are verified, an election would be called.

Now…
If I wished to pick up your paintbrush I could say that the only thing that the baby boomers did wrong was they “spared the rod and spoiled the child”. They coddled their children and give them everything instead of making them get off their asses and earn it. Instead of giving their kids every toy, paying for them to be in every ‘activity’ they wanted to be in, buying them cars, paying for their college educations, etc. they should have done what my depression era parents told me-”If you want a car get a job and buy one’, “If you want your own phone then you pay for it yourself”, “If you want to be in local softball league you will have to do chores to earn the money for the entry fee and to buy your equipment”, “If you want to go through college get a job and earn the money to pay for it”, etc..
