It figures…
Barack Obama omitted God in his annual Thanksgiving message.
He did plug the soup kitchens though.
And, Lord knows, after his failed policies we need more soup kitchen workers.

Out of boredom and curiousity, I actually looked up the history of Thanksgiving a few years ago.
As someone who was raised in a liberal and secular home (and in a liberal and secular Western culture), I was shocked to discover its deep Christian roots.
I was also very upset at the time over discovering that because I was a hardcore, brainwashed, anti-Christian, leftist, atheist back then.
The only people who seem to know the true roots of this holiday (and our nation) are the much maligned right-wing Christian fundamentalist families who bypass the liberal dominated education sytem, media and entertainment industry to make sure their children know the truth.
I’m also not really a fan of talk radio, but I watched a very interesting audio clip from the Rush Limbaugh show on youtube a couple years ago about how Thanksgiving relates to our modern day political battles of ideas.
He basically exposed to his audience the little known (and covered up) history of early European colonialism of America where they tried left-wing, socialist-esque, collective farming and how it failed miserably.
All the lazy people basically just leeched off the hard working people and the infant European colonies nearly collapsed out of rage and starvation. They quickly adopted right-wing, capitalist, privatized, anti-proto-welfare system, farming and flourished.
I looked it up and he was right.
I thought that was quite a nice “historical ownage” of the Left on his part.

Anywho, to get back to the point of this article; the Left is always trying to erase or demonize our Western/Christian roots, culture and heritage.

What are you talking about. Obama used the self-referential “I” nine times in his short message.
It’s how he refers to the supreme being.
Compare to George Bush, who didn’t use the self-reference of “I” once during in his 8 years of thanksgiving messages except for the pro-forma boilerplate of the issue of a presidential proclaimation.

I can’t quite explain it .. why I get this strange little knot in the pit of my stomach (as if I might wretch) when he says, “WE here in OUR UNITED STATES”.. and “OUR FOREFATHERS” . I don’t even want to share MY Beautiful America with someone who treats it’s people and the will of its Forefathers with such disrespect and disregard.
