Barack Obama Hates Christians.

The Obama Administration today announced a new 15¢ tax on Christmas trees.
Heritage reported:
President Obama’s Agriculture Department today announced that it will impose a new 15-cent charge on all fresh Christmas trees—the Christmas Tree Tax—to support a new Federal program to improve the image and marketing of Christmas trees.
In the Federal Register of November 8, 2011, Acting Administrator of Agricultural Marketing David R. Shipman announced that the Secretary of Agriculture will appoint a Christmas Tree Promotion Board. The purpose of the Board is to run a “program of promotion, research, evaluation, and information designed to strengthen the Christmas tree industry’s position in the marketplace; maintain and expend existing markets for Christmas trees; and to carry out programs, plans, and projects designed to provide maximum benefits to the Christmas tree industry” (7 CFR 1214.46(n)). And the program of “information” is to include efforts to “enhance the image of Christmas trees and the Christmas tree industry in the United States” (7 CFR 1214.10).
To pay for the new Federal Christmas tree image improvement and marketing program, the Department of Agriculture imposed a 15-cent fee on all sales of fresh Christmas trees by sellers of more than 500 trees per year (7 CFR 1214.52). And, of course, the Christmas tree sellers are free to pass along the 15-cent Federal fee to consumers who buy their Christmas trees.
Acting Administrator Shipman had the temerity to say the 15-cent mandatory Christmas tree fee “is not a tax nor does it yield revenue for the Federal government” (76 CFR 69102). The Federal government mandates that the Christmas tree sellers pay the 15-cents per tree, whether they want to or not. The Federal government directs that the revenue generated by the 15-cent fee goes to the Board appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture to carry out the Christmas tree program established by the Secretary of Agriculture. Mr. President, that’s a new 15-cent tax to pay for a Federal program to improve the image and marketing of Christmas trees.

Yah, this is what is needed……a government paid Board to promote the Christmas tree industry. What a joke.

Ok, this really is Bizzaro World now. Why would anyone think that Christmas Trees need promoting during the Christmas season? They pretty much sell themselves with little advertising or fanfare. I personally drive by 2 or 3 lots, selling freshly cut trees. Also, what happened to separation of Church and State? Why is the Government creating a new board to promote a Christian holiday? If anything violates separation of Church and State, it is certainly this!!!!!!!!
Personally, I have an artificial tree and couldn’t care less about it, but I would definitely NOT buy a real Christmas tree because of it.

Of course, those with full possession of their faculties know that most egregious government taxes and fees began as “only this much” at some point. When the camel gets his nose under the tent, it is impossible to keep the rest of the camel out.
But of course it is targeted at Christian observances. No way Obama is going to tax camel dung or halel meat or the hearts of Jewish babies or whatever the muslims use to celebrate their satanic rites.

This has nothing to do with Obama hating Christians. Or any war on Christmas.
It has everything to do with an industry using the federal government to impose a fee they weren’t willing to do themselves. And they should be punished for it.
Either go out and cut your own, or buy an artificial tree and save a buttload of money over the next 20 years.
I can’t stand the government, but don’t blame it when an industry hides behind it, makes it the bad guy and uses those funds for its own promotional use.

President Obama’s Islamist Sensitivity Department today announced that it will impose a new 15-cent charge on all Prayer rugs—the Prayer rugs Tax—to support a new Federal program to improve the image and marketing of Prayer rugs.
To pay for the new Federal Prayer rugs image improvement and marketing program, the Department of Islamist Sensitivity imposed a 15-cent fee on all sales of Prayer rugs by sellers of more than 500 rugs per year (7 CFR 1214.52). And, of course, the Prayer rug sellers are free to pass along the 15-cent Federal fee to consumers who buy their Prayer rugs.
Acting Administrator Achmed had the temerity to say the 15-cent mandatory Prayer rug fee “is not a tax nor does it yield revenue for the Federal government” (76 CFR 69102). The Federal government mandates that the Prayer rugs sellers pay the 15-cents per rug, whether they want to or not. The Federal government directs that the revenue generated by the 15-cent fee goes to the Board appointed by the Secretary of Islamist Sensitivity to carry out the Prayer rug program established by the Secretary of Agriculture.
Also under consideration is a 20-cent fee to use a prayer rug in public spaces. This fee is also not a tax but will help provide funds for private areas to use the rugs as Praying in public can be offensive to other citizens.
JW B commented:
Well except for leaving out the fact that the National Christmas Tree Association has been asking for this program to be put into place since Feb of 2008, with the assumption that it could not be implemented until at least 2010, and the fee is for promotion of live Christmas trees and not a tax, and the growers themselves asked for this program in hopes of increasing their live tree sales, your article is perfectly accurate.

Attack on christians? Hey douchebag, a fee was recommended by the National Christmas Tree Association in 2008 (note these are the people who actually sell the trees). Furthermore, this would have nothing to do with christians, per se, as the tree is not originally a christian symbol. As with most of chritianity’s symbolism, this was stolen from other non-monotheistic sources and then the true originators of the symbol where deemed to be something in the realm of satanic. “It has absolutely nothing to do with Obama, it’s not a tax,” National Christmas Tree Association spokesman Rick Dungey told TPM. “I’m slowly but surely narrowing down who the culprits are who put out that sinister little statement for whatever reasons there were.”
“Growers have been working on this for three and a half years,” Dungey added. “It’s just sort of interesting timing, and unfortunately somebody decided to smear it. It’s growers pooling their money to promote the crop that they grow on their farms.”
According to a statement issued by the group, there are at least 18 programs already in effect for other agricultural commodities under the Commodity Promotion, Research and Information Act of 1996.
“This program was requested by the industry in 2009 and has gone through two industrywide comment periods during which 565 comments were submitted from interested parties,” the National Christmas Tree Association said in a statement, adding that nearly 90 percent of the state and multi-state associations who commented on the program supported it.
“The program is designed to benefit the industry and will be funded by the growers at a rate of 15 cents per tree sold,” the release states. “The program is not expected to have any impact on the final price consumers pay for their Christmas tree.”
Corky commented:
No, America, President Obama didn’t impose a 15-cent tax on Christmas trees because he “Hates Christians,” or because he’s keen to launch another front in the War on Christmas. Christmas tree growers had the plan all along.
Remember those “Got Milk?” and “Beef, It’s What’s For Dinner” ads? Well, Christmas tree farmers and retailers thought those are pretty nifty. Plus, with more and more people buying artificial trees instead of the natural ones, they wanted to protect their brand. So three years ago — before Obama took office — a group of them started studying the pluses and minuses of starting a so-called “checkoff promotion and research program” of their very own.
“It has absolutely nothing to do with Obama, it’s not a tax,” National Christmas Tree Association spokesman Rick Dungey told TPM. “I’m slowly but surely narrowing down who the culprits are who put out that sinister little statement for whatever reasons there were.”
